Love this!!!
This is my first time having a bread machine. It did have a smell at first but I did follow the Manuel on how to run it before use to get that smell out. This is so easy to use. You just dump and go. I like that it has multiple functions especially the dough function since I make a lot of home made pizzas. I feel the machine looks nice. I like that it has a window to see everything. Noise level is not quite. You do hear it running but it’s not loud. I like that I can make a 3lb loaf. I recommend this. I feel your getting a good value for your money.

Custom settings make all the difference.
I almost returned this bread machine.I loved the size of the loaves it makes and the double paddles. I originally bought it because my other (4 yr old) “artisan” bread machine couldn’t mix raisins into dough without me standing over it with a wooden spoon, helping. Haven’t tried raisin bread with this one yet but I’m sure the 2 paddles will help. I wanted to see how it does with the basic white, first. I live at over 3,000 ft. elevation, so while not that high, it’s high enough to mess up baked goods. There are always altitude adjustments needed. Also, looking around online and measuring it myself, I found there are many different answers to how many grams are in a cup of bread flour. I found a range of 120 to 166 grams per cup. That’s quite a range when you need 4 cups and precision is important. After several test loaves, I found 135g/cup for the bread flour I use, to be the perfect amount and as it turns out that is what West Bend says on p.9 in the user manual.I ended up trying the custom settings, Menu 11, since I wasn’t all that thrilled with the test loaves to that point. They seemed to not rise as high as I thought they should and seemed too brown on the sides for my taste. So, using 135g bread flour per cup and reducing the yeast by 1/4 tsp because of my altitude, I increased kneading and rising times and reduced baking time. The loaf came out just how I wanted it. Couldn’t ask for more. I was actually quite surprised that changing the times on the various cycles could make such a huge difference in the final loaf, but it does. The reason I was going to return it was that the pan is pretty hard to pull out of the machine when the bread is done. Since the bread is so good (after you put in a little effort to get it the way you want it) and I like the other features (pan size, double paddles, size and overall look of the machine, nice viewing window, easy to read screen) not found in other machines at this fantastic price point, I decided to keep it and I’m very happy I did.Update: Added raisin bread pic.

Set it and forget it!
Very easy to use, very easy to set up and toss in the ingredients and forget about it until it’s ready. I missed it the first time I read the booklet but do the basic 30min bake to burn off any residual manufacturing oils woth the lid open. There might be some smoke coming off from the heat coils, which I definitely would not want in my loaves but I read this is normal so it is important to leave the lid open. It’s a sleek design and appearance, easily kept clean with a simple wipe of a wet cloth on the outside. If you are going to make the bigger loaf in any of the included recipes make sure to check on it periodically since it can hit the top of the lid and stick there, and go over the lip of the pan and the little handle that you use to pull the pan out.Cleaning is super easy, wait for it to cool down and go in with a wet cloth to get any flour or dough. My biggest suggestion in regards to this is to do it twice to make sure nothing is left. The machine is bulky but light weight in comparison – the baking rack I have to cool the bread in the picture is about how much countertop space I’d suggest for this bread machine (which is probably the only downside I could say about it is that it needs more space than you think).Overall this machine does the job well, filling the house with freshly baked smells. I highly reccomend it to those who don’t mind the size or the easy maintenance afterwards – the fresh bread is worth it!

Several small Issues
This is my third bread maker.Had a few issues my first time using it – first making a 3lb loaf it overflowed and made a ridiculous mess and started smoking. Not sure what the cause was there – after this experience no way would I use the timer option to start making bread when I am not home.As others have mentioned the paddles do not lock into place so they are baked into the bread and a total PITA to remove from the bread without damaging it. I need to read through the reviews and see how people addressed this.I do like the size of the loaf – it is much better than the 2lb makers.I still need to test the dough setting to make pizza dough before I decide to keep it or not – too bad it does not have a dedicated pizza dough setting. I may need to set up a custom program not sure yet. Also no rise or ferment optionUpdate: Pizza dough worked well and you can easily make enough dough for four pizzas which is a big time saver.Seems to me 2.5lb is what you want for a loaf in this – 3lb will most likely overflow – probably why the recipes it comes with are all 2.5lbsThe bread it makes actually looks like a loaf of bread unlike the 2lb makers

Muy buena panadera facil de usar, depende de las recetas que usas, llevo mas de 15 año con la misma receta con otra panadera y me salió mas rico en esta.
