works great, but think about softening the light yourself
these ring lights work great for zoom meetings – you want soft, warm light directly in front of you, but not so bright it causes glare on your skin – and this light is small, lightweight, USB, and it works nicely. i like the remote attached to the cord. it’s very convenient.the settings are great, all the way from 5600k down to about 3000k. the “k” means Kelvins, the warmth or coldness of the light. the lower Kelvins (k), the more yellow the light. for meetings, i prefer about 4000k, which is called “daylight”.but there’s one thing you gotta do yourself, and that’s diffuse the light so it isn’t glaring right in your eyes.i use a white athletic sock, the kind with the gray footpad. slip it right over the light, put the gray part forward, and boom – instant soft light with almost no glare in your eyes. if you want it a little brighter, keep the white part forward. either way, the light is now softer and diffused, so it doesn’t hurt your eyes even in a darkish room.you can buy a white “lamp sock” here on amazon, but they only come in white, so they don’t do much for glare. you can use any old white sock, and because LEDs don’t get hot, there’s no risk of burning or fire.all in good a great little light that i’d buy again.

Excellent for rooms with poor lighting or meetings at night
This light really increased the quality of my video calls. It’s very easy to add onto my monitor screen, although I think I’d be concern if I had to use it on a monitor screen, because I do feel the clamp is a bit strong.Regardless, for my desktop monitor, it fits great, I can place it wherever I want, and a get a great light adjusted to my skin tone. It’s amazing!

Bright, decent clip, but pretty janky
This worked for my purpose for online interviews, but it was pretty frustrating when the light would randomly not turn on. That’s not really something you want to deal with when you’re already stressed out. It seems to be a cord issue, so may not be a universal issue with this light, but just keep it in mind. It’s also pretty unstable even with the decent clip. I wouldn’t buy it again unless I was in a pinch.

HIGH RISK To Damage Your PC’s USB Controller
TLDR; Please DO NOT plug this directly into your PC. Use a separate USB-wall charger adapter or risk destroying your computer’s USB controller.This product serves its purpose as a cheap, low-end ring light for filming videos, online meetings, but poses unexpected EXTREME risk to your Computer.I had my ring light plugged in and was switching through the settings to find my preferred lighting and brightness combo when all of a sudden the ring light starts to rapidly flicker. Immediately after this flickering, all of my peripherals (i.e., USB attached mouse, keyboard, audio interface, webcam) were rapidly disconnecting & reconnecting. At some point, the mouse and keyboard stopped working all together.I restarted my PC because usually that fixes things, but upon startup, the same rapid disconnecting & reconnecting was happening until finally the mouse and keyboard and other peripherals stopped working all together again. I attempted several restarts in this manner with no luck.After some troubleshooting and googling, I found out that this ring light had caused a power surge that damaged the USB controller. I’m quite upset about this and will need to take my PC to a repair shop now.

Overall this unit is exactly what I was looking for. The clip is well made and the light is easily adjustable to any angle or direction you want and it locks into place once adjusted. The clip has nice padding that does not mark up my laptop, and the clip’s grip is sturdy without “crushing” the laptop which was another concern I had but its perfect. The light itself is bright, has multiple brightness settings as well as temperature settings to really help you find the look you want in the space you’re in. If I had to look for a negative, i guess the one thing is it takes up a USB port at all times, and has no ability to plug into an AC outlet… so if you have a lot of USB peripherals you may want to get a hub as this unit needs a permanent USB port as its home. I have a hub so I’m good to go. Overall this little unit does a great job for the price and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a flattering, diffused light for their online meetings and/or recordings.
