Was a perfect Christmas present
I purchased The Game Console 2.0: A Photographic History from Atari to Xbox as a Christmas gift for my 13-year-old son, who is a big fan of video games. He absolutely loved it! The book is filled with amazing photos and detailed information about the history of video game consoles, from the earliest days of gaming all the way up to the present. One thing I really appreciated about this book is how engaging and informative it is. It’s not just a coffee table book filled with pretty pictures, but rather a comprehensive guide to the history of video games. My son was fascinated by the stories behind each console, and he loved learning about the evolution of gaming technology. The book is also very well organized and easy to navigate. It’s broken down by console, so you can easily find the information you’re looking for. The photos are high-quality, and they really bring the consoles to life.Overall, I would highly recommend The Game Console 2.0: A Photographic History from Atari to Xbox to anyone who loves video games, whether you’re a seasoned gamer or just getting started. It’s a great resource for anyone who wants to learn more about the history of gaming, and it makes for a wonderful gift. My son was absolutely thrilled with it, and I know it will be a book he treasures for years to come. Five stars!

Great book with a lot of history and detailed photos
Even if you’re not a hardcore gamer this book is a terrific look back at the history of game consoles for anybody interested in consumer electronics. It includes all the heavy hitters that you’ve likely heard of, as well as a bunch of the more obscure systems that contributed to the overall history of home gaming. There are beautiful photos of the consoles on every page, so this makes a great book to simply flip through. If you’ve ever been interested in game consoles, consumer electronics, product design, etc. then this book is for you!

Amazing journey through time
This is a book i thought i’d leaf through and see some cool stuff about systems from my childhood but man i’m readin this cover to cover. It’s so cool to see all the systems i never even heard of, and to get context on why things turned out how they did. Each system only has about 2 paragraphs which is plenty to get the idea of it’s place in history.

Excellent Book
I was pleasantly surprised with the thoroughness and high quality of this book in covering the entire history of console games, including some computers, with absolutely beautiful photography. I purchased the book for my grandson who is a console game enthusiast supreme. He was delighted.

The holy grail guide for gamers and collectors
We got this book for our son for Christmas. He is 16, and collects vintage video game systems and other gaming items as a hobby. We ended up giving it to him on Dec 1st, because he was having a bad day and I thought it’d cheer him up. He absolutely loves it! It has SO much info, and is very visual also, which is great for someone like him who has ADHD and trouble focusing. I really really feel it would be amazing for anyone into gaming or collecting. We all have learned so much we never knew about various systems.

Very Nice and Retro!
Perfect!!! We book this book as a Christmas gift for our son’s gamer room for decor to put on his bookshelf. It brought back a nostalgia feeling being that I’m an 80s baby that I almost kept it for myself! LOL!

This is a nicely designed and sturdy visual book for the super nerds. Bought it for a friend who will be buying a home soon, will make a great coffee table book and conversation piece.

Excellent
Bought this for my son and I know he will love it!

Great info on years and years of systems. My only grip is there’s no screens shots of games to show the power of the systems. But seeing how this book was made by one guy and its a book about systems, I guess that could be forgiven. But a small one or two in a corner would have gone a long way. I mean I wanna know what’s hp is under the hood of the 2kb ram graphic powerhouse system and what it’s gonna show on my CRT. But again it’s a video game system book not a video game book.

I bought this book over a year ago and love flipping through the pages every now and then seeing all the consoles and PCBs puts a huge smile on my face.
