Fun to use!
Great book as an extra for ESL.Quick results for the user. The picturesAre appealing to everyone and a good break from the printed page. Gives the student an attractive alternative to just using the written word… child or adult. Especially good for visual learners.

A native speaker’s review
This is a really good starter Spanish language dictionary for children. I really like the way it is organized. Ideally, I recommend looking up videos for pronunciation references. The pronunciation guides in this book are not perfect; for example, the English “h” is not an exact replacement of the Spanish “j”. Points deducted for that.I’d also like to address some points that I saw mentioned in other reviews.-While the omission of ñ is incorrect, ch, ll, and rr are no longer considered unique separate letters in Spanish.-Peninsular (Spain) Spanish doesn’t only have certain slang, it has distinct grammatical rules and most notably, pronunciation. This book is NOT Peninsular Spanish. The pronunciation suggestions make it very obvious. It’s aiming towards the “Neutral Spanish” dialect. Keep in mind: What you know personally as “Spanish vocabulary” will differ enormously depending on the origin of the people you interacted with.-Latin American Spanish is NOT a monolith. Neutral Spanish is a purposefully created amalgamation, in the vein of Trans-Atlantic English, to try and bridge the enormous gaps between our many dialects. On that note:-“Tiempo” is indeed the correct way to refer to “weather” in many Spanish-speaking regions, such as my place of birth. “Clima” means “climate”. Yes, “tiempo” also means time. Just like “el cólera” is a disease and “la cólera” is a feeling (rage).-“Pastel” is one way to refer to cakes… in some regions. It can also be called “bizcocho”, “torta”… meanwhile, in other regions, “bizcocho” refers to cookies and “torta” refers to sandwiches.

Great for adults learning Spanish or children in Bi-lingual homes!
I absolutely love this book! My 6 year old nephew and 4 year old niece have began to speak a lot of the Spanish words from this book. However, I would say, that it definitely differs somewhat from how my Latin-American friends speak. Of course the book is written in Spain Spanish which is different than what I’m accustomed to speaking because all my Spanish speaking friends are Latino. Overall a great and informative book that is SO worth the price. Go buy you one!

Perfect for early learning as a family!
I bought this book to do some very light Spanish learning with my two young kids (3 and 5). We were mostly looking for something that would help us learn fun new vocabulary while delighting the kids. And this book works for us! Each page only has a handful of pictures and words, which is perfect for us — we just have fun with one page at a time. The kids and I both love the sweet little illustrations — they’re very fun without being cutesy. I am grateful for the pronunciation guide, since I am learning Spanish WITH the kids and need help in that area. It’s just a fun little book! Certainly not the end-all-be-all of dictionaries, but a great introduction to new vocabulary! We love it so much that I am ordering a second copy (we lost our first one at some point!).

I love this book as I am a complete beginner in Spanish. Even this book is for children it is suitable for adults who are complete novices in Spanish conversation. The pictures are skillfully drawn and very colourfull.

Compré el libro como regalo y al final me lo quedé, pues en vez de poner Ordenador ponía computadora y en vez de poner trousers decía “pants”, por poner dos ejemplos nada más..Está claro que es para niños americanos aprendiendo espanol NO castellano. Debajo de cada palabra te escribe como se dice foneticamente la palabra en español..o eso parece.Por lo demás está bien, es un buen tamaño, las imagenes están bien y a lo que el vocabulario se refiere tiene un poco de todo.

Amazing! My son loves it and it’s so good. I bought a second one for his nursery and they were using it. It’s so easy as the transcription of how to say it is there too. Brilliant!
