Another hit by ANKER SOUNDCORE
I have been an ANKER/SOUNDCORE fan for over 10 years. I’ve used ANKER chargers, cords, battery packs, flashlights, and even the ANKER Eufy scale. Quality products, always reliable, and long lasting. I found their earphones years ago and fell in love with them. My first was the Soundbuds Curve. I am a defense contractor and used them overseas on a 120 degree flightline for months on end. I have since used Soundcore Liberty 2 in ear earphones, Soundcore Space Q45 over the ear earphones, and just last week bought the Soundcore Sport X10… which brings me to the X20’s.I am 62 and due to recent back surgery I have had to change my habits. My better half and I started walking 2-3 miles a day outside, and going on the same route gets a little boring. So I decided to upgrade my earphones to play music to help pass the time. My in-ear Apple airpods need constant readjustment to keep from falling out. So, I decided to try a ‘hook’ type earphone and bought a pair of ‘highly rated’ name brand earphones for $200. They literally failed out of the box. I found Soundcore made a pair of unobtrusive earphones (Soundcore Sport X10) and bought them last week. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM. Unfortunately, the wife loves them more. Fine, I’ll order another set… BUT WAIT, the X20’s have just been released!!! YEAH MEEEE!I unboxed them yesterday. Same compact design as the X10’s but a little more refined. The X10 ear ‘hooks’ swing around for storage, where these are permanent but more flexible, plus they slide out for a better fit. These come with 6 different sizes of cushions, and quickly found the most comfortable ones and installed them in seconds. Pairing to my iPhone was done literally in seconds. Open the box, open bluetooth devices… BOOM there it is!I already had my SOUNDCORE app from my other earphones. The app will walk you through a hearing test and automatically create an ‘equalized’ sound profile just for you. Of course, you can always select predefined profiles by genre, or create others to your preferences.OK, now to the magic. The sound is crisp and clear. Bass is deep, but not give you a headache stupid. The earphones are light enough the hook over the ear combined with the in the ear cushion comfortably balance out the minimal weight. Battery life looks to be as advertised (haven’t had to recharge them yet). What minimal exposure I got with the X10, it’s a good improvement in sound and worth the extra few dollars. What I think pushes Soundcore above and beyond others is the app. The X20 (not sure about the X10) has a 3D Surround Sound Sound Effect that brings a whole new level to enjoying music. Plus the Noise cancellation options, and customizable controls make this an overall 5 star product! One thing I don’t like is the placement of the controls on the X20. This one sits at the ‘front’ of the ear and pretty much takes the finger and thumb to find and press whereas the previous placement on the X10’s (and other brands) on top seem a more natural location to reach up and find/tap with one finger. Not a big deal, but awkward to me.

def very good buds, download the soundcore app to optimize them
Ngl I ALMOST returned these but I’m glad I didn’t, they are actually good. But at FIRST… I was immediately disappointed since I bought these as a cost-conscious replacement for my beats fit pro which cost WELL north of $100.right out of the box they sounded cheap, and I sorely missed my beats’ transparency setting (I’m a mom, I need to be able to easily hear my kids as I do dishes in the next room, even as I watch YouTube or listen to lectures for school). I really considered returning these.Until I remembered the glowing reviews that made me purchase them. I came back to see what I was doing wrong, and it turns out I’d forgotten all about the soundcore app. To put it simply, even without doing the fit/hearing test, connecting with the app like “activated” transparency mode and suddenly the sound quality was phenomenal. I have no idea what on earth the app did other than a firmware update, but 5 minutes after downloading the soundcore app I was totally sold on the quality of the earbuds. The one thing I DO still miss about my beats fit pro is that my beats buds had the apple chip that easily and automatically switched between my Mac, iPhone, and iPad. The anker buds don’t do that, and they’re really not very easy to switch between devices. Which is a little bit frustrating. But at this price point combined with the high sound quality and effective ambient sound modes, it’s really not that big of a deal. *****UPDATE: I wrote my og review just a couple days ago, but I wanted to say that I think I spoke too soon about the multi-device issue. I just now was using these with my Mac, and then picked up my iPhone without changing or touching any settings at all, without touching the earbuds or anything, I was able to open a YouTube video on my iPhone and was immediately connected! I was just assuming before that I had to re-pair each time. That’s why I was having so much trouble, I was trying to pair the buds with devices they were already paired with, duh! I could see the Bluetooth indicator in the volume bar in control center and that’s what made me be like “oh I think they’re still connected even when using other devices with them” and boom, that’s what it was! Pretty cool, now I really can’t say there’s anything the beats fit pro have on these, especially after customizing the sound with the hearing test on the soundcore app! *****Also, took me a bit to figure out but the ear hooks are retractable which is cool. Part of the reason I bought these was because of the ear hooks, I do a lot of cleaning and cooking while listening to YouTube or whatever and a huge downside of beats fit pro was that they did NOT stay in my ear a lot of the time. The hooks on these are fantastic, they are comfortable even with my glasses, and they are not gonna fall off. I can even slightly remove the bud from my ear and let it hang by the hook if I want to and I know it’ll stay (transparency mode works well, but sometimes I like a little extra sensitivity to sound, hard to explain but if you know you know). All in all, I am very happy with these buds. There are other features I’m not touching on (controls, etc) that other reviews treat thoroughly, these things are just the most important parts of my experience thus far. I mostly just wanted to make sure others knew it’s imperative to download the soundcore app— otherwise I’d still be sleeping on these buds and may have made the mistake of returning them.

Personalized quality
Soundcorp X20s mostly for use at the fitness club. Pros: adjusts to better fit your ear with multiple sized bud tips and adjustable loop, includes hearing test in the app to better adjust the audio equalizer EQ to your hearing, manual and automatic modes for noise cancellation, automatically energizes and connects to your phone Bluetooth, excellent sound quality and stereo separation. Cons: noise cancellation doesn’t function that well for noisy areas and is kind of boomy, using the onboard buttons is somewhat awkward for control so using the app is necessary which means your phone has to be accessible, app is complex and a little intimidating but the results are worth it, buds can come loose but will not fall out and are easily readjusted.

So I bought these for my dad, so he could listen to music while he cycles and rows.He absolutely loves them, they stay on his ears really well, and they feel weightless at the same time, they are comfortable for hours of listening.I’ve tested them against my Simgot EW300’s, Audeze Maxwell’s, and Sennheiser HD600s.I would say these are very nice for when you’re exercising, surprising amount of clarity that I didn’t expect out of a soundcore, V shaped sound curve, bass could be toned down a bit, but it’s exciting for when you’re working out.Great father’s/Christmas day gift for dad’s!
