Excellent Ear Buds, Even Without the Price!
I bought a set of Dime Black earbuds about a year and a half ago, if not longer, for working landscaping. As I told a coworker, I bought “cheap earplugs that happen to play music.” When I got them, I wasn’t sure what to expect considering they were all of twenty bucks, which usually means major compromises in the Bluetooth audio world. However, they blew me away when I put them in and played some music. Everything was fairly clear, even if not as good as a fairly expensive pair of Sony Bluetooth headphones (my other, “leisure” pair is a set of Sony MDR-XB950N1 headphones). Now, this review is going to primarily focus on the Dime 2 because that is what I am using now after replacing the initial set of Dimes (after, erm… Misplacing them.)The first thing to know is these are VERY comfortable earbuds. I typically hate wearing earbuds, especially for long periods. They make my ears itchy and start to get uncomfortable for extended periods, but I would wear these for hours at a time (sometimes pushing the extent of the threeish-hour battery life) and they wouldn’t bother me anywhere near as much as others. While I still favor my Sony headphones, those were refurbished and cost five times as much as these earbuds. These are genuinely the most comfortable earbuds I have ever worn. To give this a numbered scale, I would put them at overall comfort 8/10, but for earbuds, it would be 10/10.Now, sound quality? I utilize two songs to test any audio – Always In My Head by Coldplay and I Just Wanna Know by NF. The former is great for putting extreme highs and lows at the same time where poorer sound systems will show how cheap they are, and the latter utilizes a lot of mids and bass at the same time that catches where some audio equipment will cheap out on the mids. Both songs were fairly clear. While the bass was okay (in my opinion), it makes up for it with very, very clear mids. They are NOT going to blow you away, but in the realm of this price point? They are phenomenal. 8/10Tile is a very useful tool that I have made use of. Part of why I ended up buying these instead of something higher-end is that I am very, very prone to misplacing things that are small, and… Wireless earbuds are small. I did not want cables connecting them due to them being very annoying (I tried), and I wanted something cheap enough that if it broke, I lost it, or whatever might happen, I could replace them easily. Tile removed one of these issues – If I lose them, it will both show them on a map and play an audio chime at max volume. I’m going to go ahead and say the chime is useless on these – they are -not- that loud. The map is great for finding a general location if you’re a college student or out and about a lot. They can show you where to look and have saved me the price of a new pair on more than one occasion.Battery life is probably the weakest point, in my opinion. But I also admit I am spoiled. The case has enough charge for a few recharge sessions, and the earbuds are approximately capable of three-hour bursts of battery life. While it was rarely an issue, I also had to make sure to recharge them almost every night because during a shift of work, I would use almost the entire charge. The Dime 3’s SHOULD fix that based upon the specs on Amazon, but I have no idea how they are. I just know the Dime 1 and Dime 2. 6/10Build quality is, for the money, great as well. Don’t expect metal hinges or anything at this price. However, they feel solid and I have dropped them on more than one occasion and they don’t ever seem phased. I did get one set (I may have bought more than one…) where the magnet that holds it closed was not glued properly, and have had one other that kept glitching when trying to connect to my phone (but that also could have been my phone, but if anyone else has experienced this I would love to know!) until I ran it and my phone dead and charged them both back to full. Don’t run them through the washer, though. They will not survive that. 8/10Overall, if you are looking for some inexpensive earbuds that are excellent at blocking sound and great at making (good) sounds, these are the ones to get.

Not perfect, but still great earbuds at an affordable price
At this price point, I expect to be making tradeoffs on earbuds. The Dime 3’s aren’t perfect earbuds, but they’re almost perfect for me. I have other earbuds that I really like, including ones that cost significantly more. But these are now my go-to everyday buds.First off, they’re extremely comfortable. This is a personal thing, of course, but these are the most comfortable earbuds that I own. I have narrow ear canals and the design of these is perfect. I think what makes the difference for me is that the nozzle where the silicone tips attach is oval rather than round and that works better for me. The buds are very small and lightweight and they stay securely in my ears. I can basically wear these forever without them becoming uncomfortable.Related to that, they seal really well and I don’t actually miss ANC much at all. I’m sure there are situations where I would want to go for my ANC buds, but in everyday use, these are sufficient. I spent a while a walking around the Mall of America on a very busy day with these earbuds and could listen to my music just fine without any ANC. Related to that, transparency mode also works well. When I turned it on at the Mall of America, I could carry on a conversation just fine and it really didn’t feel like I was wearing earbuds, but it still took the edge off the noise. As someone with some noise sensitivity issues, this matters to me.The big selling point for me is that the case attaches to my keychain. I always have earbuds in my bag, but sometimes I want to just grab my keys and my phone and go. With these earbuds, I can do that, and have them handy if I noise is getting to be too much for me, or I just want some tunes. The case is about the same footprint as my car fob and about twice as thick. It’s a little bulky in my jeans pocket, but fine in a jacket pocket. On first inspecting things, I was a little worried about the lid popping open, but it hasn’t happened. I’ve had these on my keychain for several weeks now with zero problems.Of course, these are earbuds, so it matters how they sound, and they’re good! They don’t have the bells and whistles of more expensive earbuds, like custom EQ, but the sound is good enough right out of the box that I don’t really care. I have better-sounding earbuds, but these still punch above their price point. The Tile functionality was a selling point for me (because they’re on my keychain with my house and car keys!) and I think it’s not worth it. First, the sound the make is pretty quiet, so it’s not useless, but only useful if you’re in the same room. More importantly, using the Tile functionality drains the batteries. The battery capacity is fine, but not stellar, but if the batteries are drained after just a few days of non-use, it defeats the point of having the these earbuds on my keychain. As a result, I deleted the Tile app from my phone and reset the earbuds, so hopefully the battery will last longer.Overall, the pros far outweigh the cons for me and I really love these earbuds. Not perfect for everybody, but I do recommend them if your needs are similar to mine.

Overall great!
These earbuds caught my eye with their price tag. I am a prior skullcandy user so I’d thought to give these a try. The sound quality is awesome and blocks out noise very well. Although, these buds do not sit very comfortably in my ears and cannot wear them for longer than 20 minutes without feeling very irritated. These buds were easy to connect to my iPhone as well. Charging and wear time is great for the price. Very good low budget option.

Good quality, easy to find
These were a fantastic price and value for what you get. I’m not a professional or anything but they sound great. The color stand out and looks good. The weight is perfect for my ears with a high quality fell. They are easy to connect to my phone and I LOVE the Tile app with them. When a child decided to play with them and lost one I found it within two minutes with the Tile app. They are comfortable to wear for hours without any irritation. I highly recommend these.
