Huge improvement over the old model
Don’t be confused from the reviews on this item because Amazon has posted reviews for both the older model and this newer model here. I had the older model and just recently received the newer model. The newer model listed is so much better than the old model. Smaller, faster grind, quieter, and easier to set how much you want the grinder to grind (cup settings). How course you want the grind of coffee to be as much easier to set with a side knob instead of turning the hopper like on the old model which was a little difficult to do. The only minor flaw is the coffee grounds are still affected by static and in a dry climate the grounds stick to the side of the receiving cup. But I am extremely happy with this new model.

I like it!
After reading some reviews, I was a bit apprehensive but ordered the grinder anyway. After giving it a try, I was pleasantly surprised. It worked as advertised, with no problems. As for the folks complaining about the “mess”, I found it very manageable. Grinding coffee is inherently a bit messy. Even when using the large grinders at the warehouse stores, I can usually smell coffee on myself for an hour afterwards.

Good bit not great.
This unit replaced my BUND that survived about 10 years or so. There are some issues with this that should be addressed. The hopper is far too small. It’s half the size of the Bund and needs constant refilling. The receiving cup for the fresh grounds is PLASTIC! Coffee grinding produces electrostatic charge. the grinds stick to sides and make a bloody mess! The receiver is designed with a groove for orientation made to prevent users from inserting it incorrectly or substituting a glass receiver.First impressions are that it is quieter than my dead Bund, the coffee grinds finer than the Bund, though not much, and baring the faults it’s a keeper, It that I hate the mess it makes.Like all, the unit is easy to open and clean though that shouldn’t be an issue unless changing beans to nuts (making peanut butter.)It’s good enough to keep but not enough to get excited about. On the other hand it didn’t cost half as much as the Bund either, that has a glass receiver.

After 2 years
I’ve had this grinder for over two years and still going strong. TIPS1) All grinders, including this one needs to be cleaned otherwise it will eventually jam up the blades2) on the grounds container container don’t take the lid off after grinding just tap the top and grinds will pour out the hole on the side. Much cleaner this was.Perfect grind! You get it precise amount with the cup dial, to make a great cup of coffee!Don’t believe the bad reviews, they’re not cleaning their grinders.

Messy
The grinder does the job for which it is meant-has multiple settings for desired grind and amount in number of cups. It is easy to use and works well. However, the hopper does not hold an amount of beans for more than two or three uses, depending on the cup setting. The worst part is having to clean coffee grounds from everything after every single use. Grounds are on the unit, countertop, and wherever else they happen to land. This is the messiest grinder I have ever owned.

Great coffee bean grinder
The coffee bean grinder is great! I’ve had it for over a year, and it’s still working great. Needs cleaning every few months, but has definitely met expectations.

sHARDOR BURR ELECTRIC COFFEE GRINDER
Here is a really good, efficient electric coffee grinder that can give the more expensive grinders a run for your money. The Shardor Grinder is compact and can easily fit on your counter or can be stored when it’s not in use if you so prefer. It’s extremely easy to use and clean and can provide you with years of use. It has a large bean hopper that can hold more than 1/2 pound of coffee beans of your choosing. The internal burr mechanism is removable for easy cleaning as is the bean hopper itself. The unit has a dial to set the degree of grind fineness for almost any kind of coffee drink from French Press, Pour over or Expressoa There is a separate dial which you can set for the number of cups needed from 2-14 and there is a container that catches the newly ground coffee with little or no mess. If you like the ground coffee can be stored in this catch cup but since it’s so simple to use, I like to freshly grind my coffee just before use. The grinder will turn itself off after the desired amount is ground with no need for outside attention. They include a plastic implement to measure the amount of beans needed for a given number of cups and has a brush on it’s other end to help keep the innards brushed and clean. There are troubleshooting guides both printed and built onto the unit if you should need them although I doubt that this will will occur. Remarkably, all of this technology comes at a very reasonable price. I’ve owned several different coffee grinders in the past from cheapos to expensive ones but I think this is one of the best and a great value. Buy it and you’ll enjoy a great cup of Java for many years to come.

Great little grinder
This has been a great little grinder for the money. Some have complained about the static and mess it makes. We had the same issue, but knew it was a static thing so I did a bit of looking. Apparently not that uncommon with plastic grinders. What I found- take a spoon and run it under water, then stir it around your beans just before you grind. Just that tiny bit of moisture cuts the static and mess. Just before you pull the lid off, give it a flick to knock down any grounds that are on it. Since doing this, I’ve had no mess. This grinder is simple to use. Just pop the lid off, dump your beans in, (stir with spoon), lid back on and push your button. The one drawback is that the grind doesn’t change a ton from one setting to another, but it grinds where we like it so it’s not much of an issue for us.
