Best Bread Maker Ever
Update: I have to say the Saki bread machine has definitely exceeded my expectations after over 7 months of at least twice weekly use. I have used the dough cycle a lot as I like to bake in my Emile Henry large loaf clay baker. I also use it for pizza dough and dough for making rolls. For complaints of how hard it is to put the bread pan back in the machine, there is a very simple way to do this. Look at the two (2) round metal bread pan holders in the base of the bread machine and see the open slotted areas on each round holder. Then look at the underside of your bread pan at the two (2) metal knobs. Rotate each metal knob on the bottom of the bread pan to align with any of the open slotted areas of the two (2) holders in the bottom of the bread machine. Then lower your bread pan into the base of machine, push down until you hear (a click) and feel the bread pan lock in place. Done. This easy technique applies if your pan is out and you have already filled it with your recipe to put back in the bread machine to bake or for putting it back in machine after washing bread pan. It may take you several attempts to get it right but then you’ll be a whiz at inserting your bread pan every time. This machine is a workhorse with its 850 watt torque motor and is able to easily tackle any recioe for a 3 lb loaf of bread. Take the time to learn your Saki machine, experiment with any bread recipe out there and enjoy it! I also ordered an extra bread pan and another set of paddles. I believe the Saki will give many many years of service. This is my second breadmaker and so far I love everything about the “Saki”. Initially, I thought of going with the Zojirushi bread machine but the Saki ticks all the boxes for me. Love the smaller footprint than the Zojirushi, love the large digital display that is easy to see and operate, great recipe book and manual included, no sticking at all with the ceramic bread pan and the ceramic double kneading paddles. The Saki is extremely quiet w/ the 850 watt high torque motor which is a big plus and I haven’t noticed any movement at all during the kneading process. Love the loaf size options, color of crust, etc. I’ve had no problem having to unplug machine to turn off as some have noted. The instructions are in the manual. I used the medium color crust on this first loaf, but since have used the light crust which we prefer. I always take out the kneading paddles when the last rise is completed before the baking cycle starts. No need to remove dough, just lift up one end, remove paddle, then lift up other end and remove 2nd paddle, then close lid and cycle will resume. No big bread paddle tears in your bread, just 2 tiny post holes on bottom of the bread loaf.I have made several different types of bread so far and am extremely pleased with each. Look forward to trying the jam, yogurt and cake recipes as well. The Saki is a winner in my book.

Possibilities are endless
It’s now been a month since receiving the SAKI bread maker. This has given me time to “play around” with the machine and try various recipes. Every recipe that I have worked with has resulted in a quality final product. I do like the fact that I can select from three different size loaves. The three-pound offering is great for those favorite recipes. I have worked with the recipes in the large recipe book that is included as well as recipes from other bread machine recipe books. Will start working with some of my handmade bread recipes to determine if they will be suitable to go start to finish in the machine. In the instruction manual which includes recipes for each different setting fails to distinguish what the size of the loaf is.The add nut/seed signal goes on too long and is annoying. An appearance distraction is the holes that the paddles leave in the finished product. But that is an issue with all bread makers. My old (2003) bread maker which still works, does the same. Nature of the beast.I would definitely recommend the SAKI bread maker and am looking forward to many years of eating fresh homemade bread. Love that aroma!

So far so good!
I got this bread machine a month ago and have made three – 3lb country loaves (the first recipe in the recipe book). Go big or go home, right? Each one was perfectly done in the middle which is what I was testing for. I also had it set to dark brown crust for the first loaf but the top did not brown by the time it was done baking (see first loaf image). The second and third one I did the medium brown crust. The second loaf still had a very light color compared to the rest of the loaf in the pan which I also immediately took out after it was done baking. The third one I left in through the post-bake warming cycle and it finally came out a lovely shade of brown on top (see other loaf image). I’ve had to make some adjustments to the ingredient amounts to my taste but overall it’s pretty good. I recommend making sure the ingredients are spread across the pan as you put them in so one portion isn’t saltier or sweeter than another. I am looking forward to trying out the other recipes and will try to remember to update as I go.It’s much quieter than I expected.I purchased this machine in particular because it is supposed to be ceramic-coated instead of Teflon. (They put stickers on the box every time it says ceramic though which looks really sketchy IMO.) I also like that it’s horizontally baking the bread which fits better on my counter. Why 4 instead of 5 stars:-To be brand new and a little pricey I was disappointed to find some scraping marks inside near the top of where the loaf pan sits however it’s not from the handle of the loaf pan because it doesn’t touch those areas. So I don’t know what caused it.-There’s also a tiny defect in the plastic where it connects to the metal on the opposite side- it doesn’t mess up anything but I’m big on details so I see it every time I open the lid.I’m also a little bummed that there’s plastic used to cover most of this machine. Maybe to keep people from burning themselves?-The fact that the top of the loaf doesn’t brown within the cooking time is also annoying.-I noticed that around one of the mixer attachments in the machine (what you push the pan into to lock it in and spins the paddles) gets a little circle of soot and I’m confused on if something is leaking just enough to burn and come out of the bottom of the pan or what. It’s definitely a black powder and I wipe it away when I clean out the whole thing after it cools down. Just a little worrisome.- steam gets trapped in the viewing window and it takes hours after cooking before it goes away. I’m concerned about mold growing in there so I just leave the lid open until it’s gone and then put it away. Not a reason to take a star away, but I wish there was a beeping notice that the kneading was done so you could pop out the paddles before it finishes it’s last rise and starts to bake.It sometimes beeps at the other steps (don’t remember which ones) but not between kneading and last rise.
