TL: DR: Terrible as phone earbuds alone, In-app purchases to use translator offline.Was so excited about these translation earbuds! Unboxed and was impressed with the care of presentation. The case is round and fits in your palm well. Lightweight, sleek earbuds, they’re comfortable and lay flat. The magnet in the case positions them securely in place. Following the manual to set them up, it states to download the Wooask-Offline Translation app. I can find that on the big G’s play store and the big A’s app store too. As of this review, the Wooask app was updated March 14, 2025, and has a 2.5-star rating by 174 users. You will be making an account with Shenzhen Wooask Technology Co., Ltd. In-App purchases. They state they do not share your private information with 3rd parties. They do want access to your photos, videos, device IDs, and personal info such as your email and phone number. Data is encrypted in transit, and you can request your data be deleted.Offline, only 8 languages can be translated, and users must use “coins” to buy language data packets to download. When connected and online, 144 languages can be translated for free.Because of the poor ratings and reviews, I don’t feel comfortable going any further with the app.The earbuds also work as Bluetooth wireless headphones with a microphone. They are not noise-canceling. We tested them and left the phone in the kitchen while wearing the earbuds in another room to hold a conversation; it was successful, but the microphone is far away from your mouth, so it’s difficult to hear the speaker.The earbuds are marked left and right. They have a touch button below the silver hole between the two dash marks. This button can control music, phone calls, and gameplay. The dash mark at the bottom of the earbud is the audio-receiving hole—also known as where the microphone is. The two small disks on the interior side are where they charge inside the case. Just above those disks is the mark for left and right, which is important to note because they control different features.The manual is poorly translated from another language and full of errors. It states 5 modes, but modes 1 and 3 seem to be the same.Mode 1: Touch Control Mode: 2 people wear 1 earbud each and click the earphone to translate in real time. Carry disinfectant with you if you choose this option, as bacterial infections of the ear and skin are a risk with this type of sharing.Mode 2: Speaker Mode: 1 person wears the earbuds, and the other holds the phone for the microphone. This is suitable for strangers with whom you wouldn’t share your earbuds but whom you trust enough to hold your phone. For example, you could point your phone at a shopkeeper behind a counter to capture their speech.Mode 3: Free Talk Mode: Two people wear one earbud each to translate in real time, hands-free. It is unclear how this mode differs from Mode 1. Again, sharing bacteria is a risk; carry disinfectant with you.Mode 4: Photo Translation: Translate photos as you take them, and translate previously taken images. This was a nice feature to include for travel, but it is unclear if you need to be connected to the internet.Mode 5: Offline Mode: (PAY TO USE) Can translate without internet connection. Supports 8 languages ONLY: Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Russian, German, French, and Spanish. Real-time offline translation. This is an in-app purchase. You need to acquire your language and the language you’d like to translate.If you only need earbuds, you have better options. Fantastic translation and sound quality
These translation earbuds work really well. I watched a soccer game on TV in Spanish and they translated every word into English clearly. The sound quality is great. The connected easily to my phone by Bluetooth. They are lightweight and comfortable to wear in the ears for several hours. It actually translates the conversation into written text on your phone as well that you can save. Definitely recommend trying!

Works, but choppy and not smooth
These translation earphones require you install an app to use them. Once installed, you need Internet access to use the translation feature. If you want offline access, you’ll have to pay a fee.The functionality is choppy. When tapping the mouthpiece end of the phone with the app open (as instructed), it would reverse the translation direction, which I did not expect.Unless a person is willing to wear one of your earpieces, it is not a perfect experience of the person speaking and you hearing the translation. The other person can talk into the microphone of your phone, but you need to tap your earpiece or the top of the phone and then wait for the ready signal from the app to indicate that it is ready to listen. If the person pauses the conversation and doesn’t speak a steady stream of content, then the app translates what it picked up and may speak over the person who you want translated. Sometimes it translates into your earpiece, and others out to the speaker. So, it can do what it says, but it is certainly not smooth.Also, I had to charge the unit for a while and take the earphones out before I could get them to pair with my phone. Also a choppy experience.
