It’s great
Really great for the price. Puts out plenty of power to the speakers. Sounds great. Downsides are that it’s loud, and I don’t mean the volume I mean the fans inside… As loud as my air cooled gaming tower maybe even a bit louder. There is also no dedicated buttons for input select on either the unit or the remote, you have to cycle through them. Probably “better” receivers out there, but for the price I paid ($180ish with tax on a sale) it can’t be beat. Definitely recommend.

Poor quality
Do not waste your money on this receiver. Brand new out-of-the-box and nothing works right. Should’ve returned it right away to Amazon but I thought it might be my older TV or HDMI cables with issues. Let’s start with the remote control. You have to be within 2 to 3 feet for it to work at all. When adjusting the volume on the remote control it automatically changes the input selection on the receiver. Volume control works sometimes with the remote but most of the time it changes a different operational function of the receiver. When watching movies and surroundsound through my Roku the audio very seldom works. Sometimes you get surround sound most of the time no audio is transferred through your HDMI connections. Even replaced my cables with high quality HDMI cables and still have the same problems. ARC function does not work at all so I tried to use the optical connection to get audio for just watching TV and all it does is buzz. FM receiver is absolutely useless, it doesn’t even lock into stations with an outdoor FM antenna. The only thing that is working well is the Bluetooth connection, it does sync up with my iPhone with ease. Also you can control the sound level independently to all of your speakers which kind of customizes the sound. The sound quality is decent, but I do not believe the power output ratings as my older receiver put out less power and sounded better. I purchased this receiver because it had Bluetooth and my older Samsung receiver did not. To make sure all these issues were with the Pyle receiver itself ,I hooked up my older samsung receiver to my TV and all HDMI ,optical and ARC functions worked perfectally. The build quality of Pyle receivers is just junk. It’s not worth sending back for warranty repair because I do not believe I just happen to get a dud out of the box. I believe I’ll just be out more shipping and handling to send it back and forth and still have the same associated problems with the build quality of Pyle receivers. In my opinion Amazon should not allow Pyle products to be sold through their website. Do you yourself a favor and spend more money on a quality brand name receiver and save your self a lot of time and hassle.

Great sound!
We enjoy having this in our home connected to our surround sound. Our phones connect to the Bluetooth for ease of listening to our favorite songs. It is easy to install and is of great quality! Highly recommend!

No operating instructions
The manual provided with the unit is all but useless. No hook-up advice and no operating instructions.I spent half a day wiring and rewiring the speakers and still couldn’t get them all to work with my iPod. Called the service number and got a never ending merry-go-round of messages, it did quickly state a web address. I went to the site I thought I heard and got an independent stereo store 2500 miles away. They were very helpful. I tried one of my retired CDs and it powered the surround mode just fine. Half a day wasted. I’m still stumbling into how to work it. (The Surround Sound folks say I should use the 2.1 Channel for iPod.) Took days to figure out how to activate Blue Tooth – that works fine once you know where it is and how to use it. I really didn’t need the Microphone functions, don’t plan on becoming a Karaoke star any time soon. But the Unit was fairly priced for one without this functionality.I would buy this unit again, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who is inexperienced setting up electronics. Finally, and this is particularly important to classical music listeners, the unit has a very loud cooling fan that will overwhelm the more quiet notes.

Very loud fans! Difficult setup.
Trying to replace a dead Pyle PDA7BU with better speaker connects (prefer banana) and add 3 channels. Shopped really in depth within my budget. Some reviews had this as loud….they are RIGHT!! The fans are just really annoying if you’re within 20 feet. I’m connecting to my PC for my office sound system and am about 4 feet away. Also, trying to connect the PC digital to the PYLE is very tricky and cumbersome. Am about ready to return this and re-shop!Not sure if this is the correct way to add to my review, but here goes. I was excited about getting the PT796BT. It was to replace a PYLE PDA7BU that I’d had for years and it finally just died. My great experience made me want another PYLE but one that fit my newer system and needs. Unfortunately, the fan noise on the new 796 was just too loud for my small office. The shelf for it is about 3 feet directly above my head where my PC desk is. Add that to the problem I had getting the AUX IN or mthe Digital Coax In on the 796 to work properly…and it had to go back! However, I still like the PYLE products and am considering a Pyle PT888BTWM, or perhaps a Pyle PT696BT. I’m going to couple that with a PYLE PSPVC6 (or similar) and I am 99% certain that will suit my needs for a long time. Assuming I don’t have any similar issues!! I hope to acquire these in the next 2-3 weeks.
