(If the TV supports this feature which depends on the TV itself ) The TV optical output volume can be adjusted on the Settings of the TV system. For example, one of SONY’s TV setting path: Settings → sound Settings → advanced Settings → all → digital audio output volume.
Electrical noises/Audio delay? Electrical noises: The DAC only supports PCM input format, other formats will cause noise Audio delay: Do not use RCA lines longer than 10 meters

Insure your TV is in PCM mode
Fantastic Optical to RCA Converter!I recently purchased this Optical to RCA Converter, and I’m thrilled with its performance! The setup was incredibly easy, and the build quality feels solid and durable. The sound quality is excellent—crisp and clear without any distortion. It has truly enhanced my home audio experience. Plus, its compact design and LED indicator are great features. If you need a reliable and affordable way to connect optical audio to RCA, this converter is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend it! Five stars!

Simple, inexpensive, and works
This plugged right into my TV’s optical output and provided a way to feed sound to my receiver regardless of what input the TV was using. I’ve had it up and running for a month or more. I’ve had mixed success with inexpensive devices like this from unknown companies, but this one seems to be a winner!

Works great but for PS3 users, you NEED to read this.
So when I first tried it out, I keep getting a strange and annoying loud buzzing sound when plugged in with optical cable to PS3. Through trial and error, I found out that the audio settings on the PS3 NEEDS to be edited and must look EXACTLY like the photo I provided. Other than that, product worked as intended and provided crisp and clear sound when playing.

Great cheap optical converter, but be prepared for a decrease in volume
This converter works great. It feels really well built with a solid metal body, and the connections are simple and work well with no noticeable noise or loss in quality. It even comes with a short optical cable! For my specific use-case, I bought this because I noticed some faint electrical noise coming from my PC line out jack when playing games that needed a lot of resources, and this allowed me to pull from the optical jack on my motherboard and output with a 3.5mm cable to my studio monitor controller and straight into my monitors. This completely got rid of the electrical noise, and has been working great. Two minor complaints I have with this converter: it does not include a USB power supply, which is a bit annoying. However, it’s really not picky about the type you have as long as it’s a very common 5V 1A plug, and it worked totally fine with one I salvaged from an old electric razor. This converter also caused a noticeable decrease in volume. This would not be an issue in a lot of scenarios, but since I was going from my PC to an optical converter, then into a passive studio monitor controller that already decreased the volume a fair bit, I had to do some tweaking. All my settings were maxed out, so I had to turn to a free third-party program called Equalizer APO to add a +8dB gain boost on my primary audio output. The program is a bit weird to use but I got it working after some trial-and-error, so now it’s close to the original output level I was used to.Overall, this is a solid converter and a great option if you need a no-frills optical-to-analog converter, as long as you have some extra headroom to allow for the decrease in volume.

Superduper!
Works fantastically! S video in to TV going out to theater speakers via composite(RCA red white)… and Kaboom! Even has auxiliary out for headphones- hopeful for longevity. Includes s video and power usb but no RCAs

Adapter for DJ System
Most televisions no longer have an auxiliary port. These newer TVs now utilize coaxial, optical, Bluetooth or the more preferred HDMI ARC. I have yet to use coaxial, optical connections are very limited on speakers, Bluetooth don’t always sync correctly between mouth movement and dialogue (there seems to be a micro-second delay) and ARC/eARC is generally only found on soundbars. After getting an 85 inch TV for Father’s Day, I tried out various audio speakers. The best and cleanest sound was definitely from soundbars since they’re made for TVs. However, I also love my bass. No offense to home theater systems, but they will NEVER make subs that can meet the needs of bass-heads like myself.I have a DJ system (I’m not a DJ) that consists of four 18 inch subwoofers, four 15 inch loudspeakers and three 6.5 inch monitors that are all self-powered and connected to a mixer. The mixer only has xlr and 1/4 inch inputs. Which means sending an audio signal from my 85″ TV to the mixer must be through an analog signal via the popular 3.5mm or RCA. Since there are no RCA or headphone jack ports, I needed an adapter that will convert optical/coaxial to those respective formats. This device here was exactly what I needed. With an optical cable connected from the TV to the adapter, I was able to send analog signals from adapter’s 3.5mm port to the mixer which would then be pushed out to the pro audio speakers. My TV has an option where optical out is ALWAYS on so I can hear from my soundbar that is connected to HDMI ARC and the pro audio system that is connected to the TV’s optical port. When I play music or want to do some Karaoke, I turn off the soundbar and all audio is produced by the pro audio system controlled by the mixer. When watching a movie where I want clarity and still want to feel the low bass, I use the mixer to cut-off the highs so only my subwoofers are producing the low thumping bass sounds together with the soundbar. If you need to connect the sound of your TV to an analog device/mixer, this adapter is what you need. Sounds do not deteriorate and everything functioned as expected.

Easy to setup
So far, this is working great. One note is that it doesn’t come with the RCA cables, which I guess might have been in the description, but you will need those and the power adapter for the USB Cable that is included. I sure wish companies would include the full power supply rather than cheaping out on the devices they sell. But the system is working well.
