Excellent resource!
Call me old school, but I enjoy a dictionary and flipping thru the pages to find new words. This one does a good job with words, definitions, verbs, and conjugation.

European Portuguese
This dictionary is I believe geared towards European Portuguese, not Brazilian Portuguese, I should have remembered that Oxford is in England and not in the States, that’s my fault for ordering it.I’m returning it because there are differences between European, and Brazilian Portuguese, and I do not want to insult someone bye speaking a European Portuguese word.The book is really well made.

日本の辞書との目立った違いは、（１)動詞の変化表が表の形で組まれておらず文字だけで並べられている。（２）不規則変化動詞は巻末にまとめて挙げられているものの本文の見出しには不規則変化であることが明記されていない。（３）動詞が名詞の見出しの中に追い込みで入っていることがある。例えばouvirは見出し語ouvidoの中にあり、独立した見出しはない。といったところです。不規則動詞は巻末に２７語載っていますが、それは先に覚えろということかもしれません。。収録語数四万というのにも注意が必要です。ポ英の部も英ポの部も各ページの見出し語数が５０から６０語でポ英・英ポ合計４７４ページということはおおむね二万数千語で追い込みのものも含めて四万ということでしょう。つまりポ英・英ポそれぞれは見出し語１万数千語とかなり小規模ですから本格的な読書には向きません。記述は簡潔で用例は極少なく、コンサイス英和辞典のような印象です。発音はブラジル式で発音記号は読みやすく、カタカナよりもずっと良いです。

Bought this at a bargain. I’ve hardly used it since there’s multiple apps like Linguee, Infopédia, Priberam etc. However it is an essential companion for students. It would be wonderful if a pocket version was available at an affordable rate. I have the collins pocket dictionaries which are also good, but are many years old.
