Wonderful! Better and more plentiful definitions than others, but heavy.
Purchased this item as a gift for an older parent. She loves it, but said it is really heavy; so if that’s a deal breaker for you, now you know. From our research when deciding which one to get her, we found that this Oxford American large print dictionary not only had more eloquent definitions, but also more words defined. The others were very childlike and insufficient. This is the real deal- a large print dictionary for people who care about words, ideas, and expressing themselves.(Plus…Scrabble…!)

SO GOOD FOR MY OLD EYES!
I’m 83, have glaucoma and just love the lager print. Yes, the offset is fewer definitions but I’ve only had a few so far that I wanted to look up to check spelling and struck out. For those I can crank up the Internet, like Mekong River, could not remember of a c or a k in the middle. Softbound to keep cost reasonable, I have had no problems with its 1435 pages, binding is holding up well so far..

Good for kids
I wanted my kids to learn dictionary skills without being overwhelmed by small text and super long definitions as they start out learning this skill. This dictionary is perfect for them.

Good dictionary with limitations
It’s just the nature of the beast, a large print dictionary would be gigantic if it was truly comprehensive. The Oxford American Large Print Dictionary is a reasonable choice. considering the inherent limitations. The font is large and crisp, the layout is clean, the paper is decent quality but the definitions are brief and you won’t find every word you’re looking for. Not every word used in the definitions are defined themselves.

Large Print Oxford Dictionary
Love it!!! Not sure if it is as good as an unabridged dictionary as it does have several words.

Best Dictionary Ever for Kid
If you are looking for a large print dictionary this is the perfect buy for a child. The only thing that could be better is if it had a plastic slip protector for its paper cover that accents the hardcover. This paper would probably wear over the years, especially for kids. I am looking for hardcover clear slip covers to purchase.

Should have used more sense in compiling this
My mom’s eyesight is failing, and she loves to look up words with which she is not familiar. She is totally unfamiliar with the internet. So she needed a large-print paper dictionary. But many words are missing from this one, apparently to keep it from being monstrous in size and weight. I wish the editors had chosen to omit the common words that everyone knows, and used the space to include words that are uncommon — exactly the type of words that someone is likely to look up in a dictionary.

It is really nice dictionary. My son uses it pretty regularly (at least that’s what he makes us believe). It honestly has large print which makes it easy on the eyes.

Excellent large print dictionary for a friend whose very old dictionary didn’t have words that were used in word games .
