Quite impressive
Beautifully made and works perfectly. Highly recommend.

Awesome
Some of the best coffee i’ve had was out of this pot after we burned off the paint, that’s really my only down side is the first time or two the top layer of paint is burning off and creates a lot of smoke, may even make the coffee taste weird but after it’s done it’s great flavored coffee, looks really nice too with metal and glass pieces it’s not cheaply put together

Entertaining, and can make a great up of coffee. Not great for every morning use though.
It’s a work of art that makes great coffee in a ridiculously overcomplicated fashion. Fun to watch, but somewhat less so if what you really wanted was a cup of coffee right away. I have no regrets buying it and would do so again. That said, here’s some things to watch out for. The instructions indicate to first fill the alcohol lamp only half full. Which I did, but figuring I’d add more fuel when it ran out. What the instructions SHOULD say is top it off to half full every time you use it. The lamp cracked after only a few uses. The seller “Coffee and Toy” was excellent about shipping a replacement, and I of course watched more closely what was happening with the new one. So far the new lamp, filled halfway for each use, is fine. I’ve been looking around for some sort of electric replacement for the lamp, and either a mesh or disposable paper filter replacement for the cloth ones. Since the cloth filters are so comparably expensive I’ve tried reusing them, but you can taste it after two reuses, so no. 2 stars on cleaning; since the coffee goes back into the copper boiler, I bought an extra toothbrush to use through the tiny fill hole to scrub it out.

This is great if you’re here for a good time and not picky about coffee
Genuinely love this. I am not picky about coffee in general, and I got this because I thought it would be FUN and it IS. It’s not terrible to clean, but you do have to wait for it to cool down. It’s not exceptional coffee–it’s about what you’d get from a french press–but it’s fine. A couple things: It doesn’t come with alcohol fuel, so you’ll need to get some, and it comes with only one cloth filter, which you may or may not use. There is not a way to change how long the coffee (or tea! You can also do tea!) steeps, but overall I do enjoy this thing a lot. It’s terribly impractical but I didn’t expect it to be practical in the first place.

So far so good
Haven’t had it for long. I still use my ninja for my morning coffeeI use the syphon in the afternoon. I watch it brew takes about 14 minutes for anything to happen. Coffee is greatI was a bit nervous the first time I used it it was a breeze. Never needed the instructions againI gave this a five rating but it does have a few things. Cleaning it is a bit tedious and I am a little concerned about the cloth filter. Seems a bit flimsy I don’t know how long it will last and what to use as a replacement. I texted the company. They answered and said the filter should last a long time. They didn’t give me an answer on a replacement

What a conversation piece! Beautiful
This looks great sitting out on my counters, such a nice conversation piece. I read all the reviews prior to purchase and there were some great tips. Warming the water helps in time, pull out the wick enough, burn Everclear and then sit back and watch the action. I gave 3 star for cleaning but really its not bad at all. My husband loved this as his 7yr anniversary gift. (traditional gift is copper!) It really is beautiful and the coffee is really good. We are experimenting with different coffees and grinds. you wont be sorry for your purchase. Pamela B – TN

Gorgeous Piece That Makes a Great Cup of Coffee!
When I purchased this for my husband for his birthday, I thought it would be a beautiful piece that he would pull out every once in a while for special occasions. I was wrong! He uses this nearly every day (every day that he drinks coffee) and says that it makes the best cup of coffee he’s ever tasted. I don’t mind taking up the extra counter space because it’s a gorgeous work of art that adds a little class to my kitchen. It has a very elegant feel with a steampunk vibe that I really enjoy. Watching it work is a fun addition to our day! So, if you have a true coffee gourmand in your household, this is a great gift.

Old is Gold
I had several doubts when I was reading the reviews of buying this product but honestly once I received it, it was just amazing the idea of chilling out at your home with your family having a cup of tea as I experimented with tea instead of coffee and the tea was amazing.Just the looking at it brewing in front of you without the technology that we’re living in today brought back so many good memories.

It might look complicated at first, but it’s really not that hard to figure out. It’s actually slightly easier to use than regular coffee syphon. Makes a great cup of coffee, similar to a Mokapot in terms of strength, taste, and even temperature (I’m normally partial to pourover coffee). So I’m happy to say it functions as well as it looks, but there are a few caveats:- For those in Canada, finding clean burning alcohol may be a challenge, as “denatured alcohol” is not really a thing in Canada. This is important if you don’t want to end up with soot in your surroundings. I found clean burning ethanol from Kitchen Stuff Plus for $10- Other reviewers mention it’s easy to clean, and I agree for the most part, except for the water retainer. As you know, even though it’s where the water is initially stored, it’s where your coffee eventually goes. There isn’t a way to open the retainer for cleaning, so the only “cleaning” you can really do is pour soapy water into it and thoroughly rinse it out by running water through it. You can’t scrub the inside, so it can never be completely clean. It’s not the fault of the manufacturer, as this is by design, and I think all Belgian style syphon might have this minor issue.- It comes with a cloth filter that does the job, but it’s not great. I made the mistake of tying a knot with the strings, and there was no way to untie it. I ended up having to cut it loose, which made the strings too short and basically rendered the filter unusable. Don’t make the same mistake I did or at least order some extra filters.- If you get the copper version, be prepared to treat it like copper cookware, i.e. if you let water dry on the surface, eventually they’ll leave spots. It’s not a big deal, it just means it’ll need periodic cleaning like any copper cookwareThe build quality is quite decent, but I think it’s just slightly overpriced. But that’s fairly subjective; people spend a lot more on a piece of decor, which is a secondary function of this syphon.
