It’s okay very basic for the cost
I got this too be able to view live data on my rigs and although it does that it doesn’t offer many live data options that my buddies similar priced scanner does. There scanner itself is quick, has a nice looking screen that’s not too small, it gives a general rundown of items that could contribute to abnormal readings which is neat! It easily clears codes and has a decent obd cable. The downsides are the value for cost isn’t great, maybe if you will be using it on a big rig it would be acceptable buy for regular non commercial OBD2 cars/trucks it’s just not worth it compared to other options, second issue is the device itself feels cheaply made with a lightweight body and buttons that feel fragile and poor quality to press.I feel the benefits outweigh the negatives but only for people who will use it for the intended purpose!

Helpful as a mobile mechanic. I’m really happy with the unit
As a mobile mechanic, the **OBD2/EOBD Diesel Diagnostics Reader** has quickly become an essential tool in my toolkit. It’s incredibly easy to use, and within moments of connecting it to a vehicle, I get detailed readings on everything from fuel pressure to turbo performance. The real-time data streaming is a huge plus, allowing me to monitor multiple parameters at once, which is key when diagnosing diesel engine issues on the fly.I’ve already saved a couple of truckers who broke down on the side of the highway thanks to this tool. The ability to read and clear codes on-site has helped me troubleshoot problems quickly and efficiently, getting them back on the road in no time. It’s truly saved me a lot of time and stress, and it’s made my job much easier. If you’re a diesel mechanic or someone who works on heavy-duty vehicles, this reader is a must-have.

Great Scanner for the price
The best part of this scanner is it can handle any vehicle tou throw at it and if you have a lot of vehicles like I do, it is clutch to have a unit that go act as a go between when you are trying to diagnose maladies.I mainly acquired this for an international I am building and it has been incredibly efficient at helping me track down issues as I go. For me it is an essential purchase.Until We Meet Again-Off The Grid Ken

Ideal for independent mechanics and fleet operators
This heavy duty truck scanner is a versatile and affordable diagnostic tool designed for both heavy-duty trucks and OBD2-compatible cars. It supports major diesel engines such as Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit, International, and PACCAR, while offering full-system diagnostics, real-time data monitoring, and all OBD2 modes. One of its biggest advantages is its cost-effectiveness compared to dealership-level tools, making it ideal for independent mechanics and fleet operators. Additionally, it has a rugged design, plug-and-play usability, and no subscription fees, which adds to its value. However, its basic UI, lack of wireless connectivity, and limited support for pre-2006 trucks might be a downside for users needing more modern features and extensive compatibility. While the scanner excels at reading and clearing codes, providing live data streams, freeze frame capture, and emissions readiness checks, it lacks bi-directional control, meaning users cannot perform advanced functions like injector tests or forced DPF regeneration. This is a notable limitation for those seeking deeper diagnostic capabilities. Additionally, while it supports heavy-duty truck protocols (J1587, J1708, and J1939), some older trucks might not be fully compatible, limiting its usefulness in certain situations. The absence of touchscreen functionality and reliance on a button-controlled interface also makes navigation slower compared to premium scanners.Overall, this truck scanner is an excellent entry-level truck scanner, especially for those who need a budget-friendly yet reliable tool for basic to intermediate diagnostics. It is best suited for truck owners, fleet operators, and DIY mechanics looking for an affordable alternative to dealership tools. While it is not a replacement for high-end diagnostic devices like Cummins INLINE or OEM dealer software, it strikes a balance between affordability and essential functionality. If you don’t require advanced features like active tests or wireless connectivity, it’s a solid investment for routine diagnostics and preventive maintenance.

easy to use
The operation interface is designed to be relatively clear, the screen display is clear, and the data refresh speed is also good. You can start reading information after connecting a few ports. It can not only scan the host system, but also support full system diagnosis, including baby, ABS, anti-lock braking system, etc., which can fully understand the health of the vehicle, and is more comprehensive than the general OBD2 code reader. The device itself is very solid, durable, and suitable for garage or outdoor use. The connection method is simple, just plug in the OBD port and you can use it. No additional or complex settings are required, and you can start reading data directly. And it supports 2 in 1, which can be used not only for trucks, but also for ordinary cars, which is more convenient for some new car users.

Didn’t Work on My Vehicle
I was anxiously looking forward to this OBD2 scanner,, so when it arrived, I immediately unpacked it. For a device at this price, I expected more. The device feels too light and is mostly low grade plastic. It has a data port to attach to your laptop but it uses a legacy USB Mini port. That is disappointing since the device description states “2025 New Version”. The display is color but lower resolution. I did like that a storage case was included. I will try the OBD2 scanner on another vehicle and will update this review if it performs better.

The NEXAS heavy duty truck scanner is great for in depth diagnostics on heavy equipment such as transport trucks and HD diesel commercial trucks. In order to get the most out of it, you have to make sure it is compatible with the types of vehicle in your fleet, as outlined in the chart shown in the product listing. We have a few Chevrolet HD trucks in our fleet and I was able to go into DPF and SAS modules to get information such as filter life, calibration angles, and readouts that would simply not be possible with a generic OBD2 scanner. The NEXAS has an easy to use interface and well-spaced buttons, which make it an intuitive experience even for new users. I did also explore the menus on my personal passenger vehicles and was impressed at the amount of data (including live-data) that it could pull. I was able to check my short-term and long-term fuel trims (LTFT and STFT) to ensure that my engine is running optimally and there are no vacuum leaks or other sources of unmetered air, which effects both efficiency and performance. It works like a regular OBD scanner to check for engine codes complete with a generic description of the fault. I was able to see my emissions readiness and see the live voltage readings on my Oxygen (O2) sensors. It comes in a compact package and easy to keep in the glove box both for my own personal vehicle, and when visiting our business sites where more heavy transport is utilized.

Works as described so far so good… seems to take a long time to load pages for diagnostics but eventually does the job.Maybe a software update would fix that?Using on a 2003 IHC 4400 truck. so no pollution modules to check so not sure how it is at that.Happ y so far !

So far I have used this scanner with the OBD2 port only, on 2 different vehicles, and it worked perfectly both times 2010 Subaru outback and 2014 Dodge ram). I am not a mechanic so I am probably using the scanner to 10% of it’s capacity, but it allows me to reset and clear check engine lights, and since I own an old car, I have an EVAP related CEL that pops up every 2-3000 km or so, and when that happens I cannot use the cruise control. The Nexas scanner allows me to easily erase the error and I’m good for a couple of months. Since most garage will charge you, sometimes up to 50$ only to pull a code, I think that this is a tool you need if like me, you have a 15 years old car!

I picked up the NEXAS NL102+ Heavy Duty Truck Scanner to help with some ongoing issues with our trucks at work. It’s definitely more than just a typical OBD2 scanner as it comes with multiple connectors for both regular vehicles and large trucks. So far I’ve had no issues with it recognizing the vehicle right away. The display is simple but effective, showing you fault codes and real-time sensor readouts. The scan results are quick, and the code clearing is just as easy. It makes it much easier to decide if various issues can be dealt with in-house or if we need to send a vehicle out. I like the live data feature, though I’m not expert enough to necessarily understand how to interpret it in all circumstances. That said, the screen isn’t the sharpest I’ve seen, and the overall build feels a little on the cheaper side. Still, it gets the job done, and the price is reasonable for what you get, especially when you consider how much you save on diagnostic charges.

after an MVC and body work repairs, I had my vehicle back 2 weeks and started to throw codes. a number of lights were on and was very concerning. it was a not at fault accident and their insurance covered everything but $20K in damage fixed and now codes. this gave me the codes, clear the ones that didn’t matter but let me know what was causing the issues. turned out it was nothing to do with the accident, and I snow blocking an air intake system after pulling someone out of a snow bank. gave great peace of mind, and avoiding a costly investigation for nothing.the unit is well made, easy to use and understand. a simple code search online really helps a non car person understand a lot more. I feel for the quality and ease of use that has gone into this product, as well as the results it produced, it is well priced.
