Minor improvements over previous models make this unit great
This is a great scanner at an economical price. I’ve previously used an older model with 1D scanning and was happy, so I decided to try this one when we needed more. I feel like the CMOS scanning is SO much easier than a laser scanner as you really don’t have to line it up, just get close. It still shows a red line just as a helper guide, but you can scan from any angle. It does also have a white light that lights up the space for more accurate scanning. This can also scan on screens which is a huge improvement and if needed we can do QR codes in the future. This best minor improvement with this over previous models is you can now have it plugged in without it going into USB mode. For example, I can use Bluetooth to scan into an iPad even while it’s plugged in (after changing this setting). The battery life is really good on these, but with our set up its easier to just keep it plugged in and never needing to remember to charge it. We can also probably turn off sleep mode this way too, so employees don’t need to click to turn it on and then scan.I was able to program this to work with our POS (Vend) by adding a Tab character before the code to select the search field and two carriage returns after the code to force it to ring in as an item. This is much more durable and about 1/4 the price of the ‘recommended’ scanner. Every software will be a little different on how well this will work, but generally speaking if a Bluetooth keyboard can navigate it, so can this scanner (unless it requires long pauses) after the code and before enter. Just take a little time to read the scanning manual. The stand is lightweight but functional, but there are two screw holes you can use to attach to the counter. While we just got this unit, based of their previous model that we’ve used a few years I’m confident this will work great.

Love it.
Using at work to do inventory and does a great job of capturing 2D barcodes from back of monitors (odd angles for example). Also captures 1D barcodes just fine. Has options that you can change by scanning codes from manual. Got electronic manual from maker by contacting them through their email that I got from their website. Nice thing about having the e-manual is you can change settings by scanning the code from whatever screen you have the manual on (phone for example) and don’t have to use the paper manual. Dongle works with work laptop just fine but not Bluetooth because I think Bluetooth is blocked on work laptop but had no problem using the Bluetooth mode when using my own tablet or laptop. Recommend this scanner and so far has worked great and good communication from maker.

Scans PC Screen, phone Screen, paper very well. Avoid black backgrounds and borders on QR Codes
I just received this product today. I had some problems because I was placing my QR Codes on a black background which does not work well. That all changed when I scanned QR Codes with a white background and made sure the borders were white not black. (see sample image). I am very pleased with this equipment now that I know how the QR Codes need to be presented.=====================Update July 9, 2018 11:38 AMAfter trying to scan with several different products with success I began to see a pattern of why it would not work on my first computer screen scan which was with Adobe Photoshop. When I used Photoshop I had the QR Code on top of a black background. All the other products I tried later had a white background. So I changed the Photoshop background to white and place the QR Code again on it and it worked. In fact, it has worked on every product I have tried on the PC so far as long as the background is not black. In my tests the background is white. Here are the products I tested with:Adobe Photoshop CC – Scan WorksAdobe Illustrator CC – Scan WorksWindows 10 Paint – Scan WorksWindows 10 Fresh Paint – Scan WorksWindows 10 Paint 3D – Scan WorksMicrosoft PowerPoint 365 – Scan WorksMicrosoft Word 365 – Scan WorksMicrosoft Outlook 365 – Scan WorksI don’t know if this is the cause of the problem with the Samsung phone image. I still have to repeat the tests on that with a white background. I have adjusted my rating now to 3 stars.========================Update July 9, 2018 11:54 AMI have changed my rating to 4 stars now. The QR Codes on my Samsung are working now that I make sure the QR Codes are on a white background with a white border edge. I originally had the QR Code on a black background which was not working. I have not given it 5 starts because I have not tested the other features I need such as ability to configure sending prefix and suffix characters. When I’ve done that I’ll get back to this review. The sample image is what I used for testing. Note that it is in a white box. If it were in a black box then there are problems. But as long as the surrounding color of the code was not black it worked very well. I don’t know the result for other colors nor will I test as that is not what I am concerned with for now.

Great deal for the money
I tried other barcode scanners first, and kept coming up short on the inexpensive ones. I primarily use this scanner to read the serial number barcodes off of laptops and other electrical devices for inventory records, and many of those now have a very narrow barcode label that just doesn’t read on most 2d scanners. I needed a 2d scanner though because manufacturers are moving that direction finally.I can say in less than a week, it’s earned it’s keep. We scanned in 1100 laptops yesterday and this morning with no mechanical issues. There are some minor quirks such as a fairly defined distance field it will read in, and the design of the 2.4 GHz wireless adapter’s design is begging for it to get lost (I wish it clipped to the scanner for storage). If you can look over those minor issues though, you get a great wireless/Bluetooth scanner with a good battery life that does what no other scanner in this price range that I have tried could do reliably!
