An excellent handheld version of the game
This is a fun handheld to own and play! No, it’s not a port of the original arcade ROM. I’m not sure which console this was ported from, but I’ve heard mention of it being the SEGA version in another review. Regardless, it’s a decent likeness of the arcade ROM with the sounds being pretty close. I’ve also heard other reviewers talk about the audio sounding bad in their handheld unit. I experience the same distortion in the sound, but I believe it’s just the tiny speaker being insufficient to handle the amount of audio gain inherent in the ported ROM. If you plug in headphones or an external speaker, the audio sounds normal. For what it’s worth, the audio coming from the speaker in the Ms. Pac-Man version sounds fine, so this problem could be isolated to the Pac-Man version. I’m not sure about the other Pocket Player titles. No comment on the other two included games. I don’t play them and was only interested in the original game, which is totally worth the price point to have. The game is really best suited for joystick control, but the D-pad on this unit is pretty responsive. You may need a little time to build muscle memory with it. Be patient if it seems like you push one direction and Pac-Man stalls or makes an unintended turn straight into an oncoming ghost. It’s just the nature of a D-pad versus a joystick. You’ll eventually get the feel for it. This handheld version is all about portability of the game. Yeah, you can get it on your smartphone, but touchscreen control for a game such as this is frustratingly difficult to maintain over time. D-pad control may not be optimal, but it’s sufficient with a little practice. Bottom line: if you’re a fan of the game, young or old, this is a version worth carrying around with you.

battery life!!!
I got this as a gift for a girl in my class for her Bday because she lovesss pacman so this was perfect for that. I put the 4 AAA batteries required and it fired up perfectly. The graphics were pretty good despite being on such a small screen and the sound was a little quieter than I wouldve wanted, but it does come with an audio jack so thats not too big of a deal. However, after playing for about 2 or so hours, all 4 of the AAA batteries were dead. You can use the microusb charger port to play, but then youd be tethered to one spot.My suggestion would be to buy the rechargable batteries so you dont have to keep spending money on brand new packs. but overall, a solid 9/10. would recommend to someone who loves pacman!

PAC Man game
I like the game , it’s fun. I don’t like that it needs 4 AAA batteries. I though it came with its own internal rechargeable battery.

Maravilloso juguete que me ha trasladado a mi infancia.Está genial que se pueda enchufar a la corriente para no gastar pilas.La pantalla es pequeña y me tengo que poner las gafas para ver bien los muñecos, pero es idéntica a la original. Además trae otras dos opciones de juegos también con el Comecocos.Si tuviera un joystick ya sería la caña!!
