This dictionary belongs in everyone’s library!!
A most unusual and fascinating dictionary!! Whether or not you are interested in the Spanish benefits (which includes defining masculine/feminine articles), this book is chock full of information! One could spend hours learning about SO many items and topics. It may be helpful for some to use readers or a magnifier to read the fine print. I love this book and highly recommend it!!!

Much more than just a Spanish visual dictionery
If you’re looking for a book that has pictures of things and the Spanish words for them, this book has that. But it’s also a surprisingly comprehensive book, in English and Spanish, on how the world and everything in it works. And everything out of it too, meaning the solar system and the universe. Here’s a hypothetical example: if you want to know the Spanish word for wine, it will show you, and label, all the major types of wines. And the grapes they are made from. And a complete breakdown of the chemical process that turns grapes into wine. Plus explanations about the chemistry of fermentation, in another section. Plus pictures of the feet that traditionally crushed grapes, and an anatomical description of a foot. And of bones. And of molecules that make up the bones. And of atoms that make the molecules, and a breakdown of the atoms into electrons, protons, etc. All nicely illustrated and labeled in Spanish and English. No kidding. This is going to be a prized addition to my reference shelves. Oh, and it helps you learn Spanish too.

Fantastic: Exact and Thorough!
Bought this as a gift for an adult student of Spanish. He LOVES it! It has explicitly detailed vocabulary that covers more than basic subjects. For example: in the animal section, it has a picture of a dog with the word dog in English and Spanish. That’s normal, so fine. But under the heading of “Dog” it has the words for different breeds of dogs, the skeletal structure of a dog, the words for the names of the bones in a dog, the organs of a dog, etc. If you look up the word for “airplane” this visual dictionary has the words in English and Spanish, plus images of various types of airplanes; prop planes, jet planes, biplanes, commercial airliners, etc., plus an image and translation of the cockpit, the 1st class cabin, the economy class cabin, the wings, the tail, the nose, the engine, and then the various components of the engine, as well. Plants, kitchen appliances, astronomy, tractors, whatever, it has exact vocabulary with explicitly detailed information. It is very well done, and he’s told all of classmate friends about it. He says it’s nice to have the correct word to use instead of playing charades!

Very nice book
This is a very nice book. Some people complained that the words were too small. I didn’t find them exceptionally small. I can still read it easily.

A MUST FOR BILINGUAL INDIVIDUALS!!!
This book is PERFECTION for kids learning to be bilingual. I don’t know how it has less than 5 stars. It is extremely in detail and super informative, I cant wait for my kids to learn!! Growing up and trying to learn english was sometimes about forgetting the smallest words that would make translation so much easier so when in doubt this book would have been gold for me to have. I definitely would have learned my English a lot faster. The only thing that I found odd was amazon is selling it for $41.69 but the back of it says USA $29.95 so I dont know why Amazon is overpricing?!?! Also who ever one stared their review and said this book is useless because the print is too small just because you blind doesn’t mean you have to showcase your disability and think everybody’s experience will be the same because the print is perfectly fine.

Extremely detailed and easy to reference
I am trying to learn Spanish on my own and with the help of friends who are native Spanish speakers. I wish I would have purchased this dictionary years ago. Just buy it – it is worth the price and then some. The sections are well organized and the detail is amazing. All of the little things my friends teach me on the fly are in there such as the names of individual knives and spoons, different types of glassware, names of cuts of meat. I’m even learning things I didn’t know such as all of the jobs on a movie set – and of course their names in Spanish. The font is a small (6 to 8 points) so, if you have trouble reading small print you will need reading glasses. With the wealth of information in this dictionary, it exceeds my expectations.

It beautiful and so detailed!
But there are a few things to keep in mind. Because gender is so important in the Spanish language it would have been a nice inclusion. Also I showed some pages to my friend in South America and he said some names are different than what they call them but Spanish is spoken in so many different countries not everything can be across the board if you know what I mean. I love having it, It’s beautiful, detailed and a great reference!

Not just a dictionary, but an incredible visual encyclopedia. Everything is in here, from everyday items to intricate dissections of almost anything you could think of, with beautiful images labelled in both English and Spanish. It’s super thick, so don’t expect to take it as a travelling companion. I’m very pleased with my purchase of this book. I only wish the writing was a little larger.

This is a great book for learning vocabulary. Of course, there are sections that are more useful than others: food items vs the different kinds of satellites and their components. The key is that it makes learning FUN with great illustrations. So that one week you can concentrate on fruit, the next on kitchen items, the next on animals. Pretty soon, you’ve learned more vocabulary in less time than you ever thought possible !This is an especially useful book for those who already have a basic knowledge of Spanish and often find themselves asking native speakers “what do you call that thing that…”I’m learning Italian also but I find that separate books for separate languages beats a five language pictorial dictionary. Isolating one language will precipitate learning both.Regardless of what level of learning Spanish you find yourself, let’s say you commit to 2 hours of study a day, well, on the off day that you don’t feel like delving into verbs or pronouns, you can give yourself two pages of vocabulary and still get your study time in.Highly recommended! Two things to note: the quality soft cover book is not a pocket dictionary but it is smaller than a typical hardcover reference book. Also, the writing is small so farsighted readers will need their glasses.
