Good pocket dictionary. Small text
This is a pocket dictionary. It’s a good size for travel or for throwing in a purse or backpack. Google translate can be very useful. But an actual dictionary to browse similar words is a better learning tool. There is a small section for irregular verbs (both English and German irregulars). This isn’t a textbook substitute or one of those big dictionaries with lots of grammatical information. It assumes you know conjugation and declension. I appreciate the updated vocabulary and found the small text to be surprisingly readable.

Perfect for a Student or, Even Better, While Traveling in Germany
I had planned a trip to Germany in 2020 and decided to make another run at learning German. The pandemic put the kabosh on my trip, but studying German certainly gave me something to do during “lockdown.” I now have my second trip to Germany upcoming, and I was ecstatic to order and receive this dictionary. It is the perfect size for tossing into a day-pack. Now, with translator apps on phones, one can look up the meaning of words that way. But quickly thumbing through a dictionary can actually be faster and more convenient. Plus, if you already know some German, and are just stuck on a word, a dictionary works great for jogging the memory. This dictionary is German-English and English-German. The definitions are concise; just enough to get the jist of the meaning across. Thus, for a smaller book, there are a lot of words covered. I checked quite a few words in German that I already knew and I found the definitions offered to be helpful. The book is a great way to study too, opening at random and such. All in all, a great book. Not meant to replace the big hardcover version that sits on a shelf, but absolutely perfect for having on the go. Highly recommended! Or as one would say in German: Sehr empfehlenswert!

Merriam-Webbster’s German-English Dictionary
I love having the translations as well as the definitions of the words I need to translate. And ALL at my fingertips!!Now this isn’t the standard dictionary. This is a smaller travel-sized translation dictionary.I’m pretty sure it has mostly-used and common terms and words in this translation dictionary. The German to English translations are at the beginning of the book and run to halfway through the book. The English to German translations start halfway through the book and continue to the end of the book.I find these to be more accurate than most AI translators out there! I’ve gotten some very interesting, and even offensive, translations using those translators. But I have hardly every gotten anything wrong wen looking something up for myself. It’s a little slower than an AI but it is much more accurate! This is clearly printed, easy to read, and very easy to understand!I HIGHLY recommend this to travelers, students learning the language, or teachers of the language that just need to double check something! These are great Translation books to have handy!

Has the approval of my German native Daughter in law
The vocabulary in the dictionary is correct to the best of the knowledge of my German native daughter-in-law. The book is not overly large. It should be a good travel companion.

Deutschland uber alles! Look it up. ;P
THIS, is a plain German-English (and some English-German) pocket dictionary. Well, it’s not quite pocket sized, but it’s compact enough to fit in a pocket if you’re wearing cargo pants. It won’t take up much room in a bag or backpack either. Who better to use to look up that German word you need to find than Merriam-Webster, the most trusted name(s) in dictionaries, right? Because of it’s compact size, this dictionary isn’t going to be an exhaustive catalog of every German word in their vocabulary, but it serves as a good reference point when looking up the most commonly used words and phrases. The print is a little small, but that’s to be expected in a compact dictionary. See picture 3 for a random page showing the print size. It’s all very legible as well.In addition to vocabulary, this dictionary includes: “IPA pronunciations and abundant examples of words used in context guide correct usage. Irregular English Verbs, Irregular German Verbs, and Regular German Noun Endings.” It’s advertised as being “perfect for language students”. I can’t confirm that as I’m not really in school learning German, I just have a handy curiosity for languages that I can’t speak. I know a few words and this will definitely broaden my horizons for that rare occasion that I visit Germany. Still, it’s nice to have a hard copy paperback in one’s hands instead of having to fiddle with a translation app on your phone. Right?

Silly me I thought it was hardcover
This is a handy paperback copy of a German English dictionary from Merriam Webster. It has a helpful guide and notes at the beginning. It contains both German to English definition or translation. As well as English to German translation. This book is lightweight and handy to keep for reference. The book is indeed a paperback and it was easy to thumb through.
