has all the words my kid needs
My 3rd grader wasn’t finding all the words we needed in our children’s dictionary. This one looks and feels more grown up, and has all the words she needs so far. We homeschool.
Veronica –
A lot of repeated words.
Example: It would say, assume, assumed, assuming and assumption. But it gets the job done.

Great for All Grades & Ages!
I bought two of these for my 10 and 8 year olds for them to use for homeschooling. We had a hard cover children’s dictionary that they were sharing but I’ve learned that my children get more excited about books if they each have their own copy.I put their name labels in them and they were so excited! My daughter jumped up and down. Even though this is a “children’s” dictionary it is set up like the dictionaries I used in college. This dictionary will easily get your child through grade school and beyond. It’s soft cover so it can easily fit in a cubby or backpack. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Easier to Read than Adult Dictionary
Like it very much. Good for Kids. Could be more pictures. Mostly if they put a Divider by —-Each Letter—That would help a Child Immensely to get to the word they are looking for.We will have to make our own Labels for each Letter of the Alphabet!!

“Rape”
In reference to the review saying the word “rape” is in this dictionary…while that is true, the definition is that of the herb of the mustard seed family. It says nothing about the alternate definition of the word. We did not find any questionable words for children in this dictionary!

Nice
Pretty good. Learn how to look up words the old fashioned way. My 6 year old first grader uses it. It’s large almost The size of a phone book. We use it all the time. It is abridged so once in a while a word is not in there but … it’s for children and says so.

Useful
It helps to have this when kids do not understand the meanings of certain things. Very resourceful

Good little reference book. Was surprised to see the definition of “rape” though. Was hoping for the book to be slightly more filtered.
