Backlight works great.
This item has a lot of negative reviews and was cautioned with its high return rate. It was the only battery operated calculator with a backlit display at a great price point. I took my chances and ordered one. There were many negative reviews about the backlight not working. Mine works fine. You can turn off the confirmation beep if needed. Yes, the decimal key is located in an awkward position. That was not a dealbreaker for me. I’ve had it for over a week now and it’s still working perfectly. I hope this review helps with deciding to purchase.

makes a beeping sound when you press buttons.
When you turn the unit on and use it (pressing keys) it beeps. It defaults to beep on. If you turn off after using it or it times out and cuts off the beeping comes back when you turn it back on. This is annoying to me. I have to turn it off every time I go to use it. The only other CON I would say about the calculator is the location of the decimal point. It is in the upper right side of the calculator. It is a very odd place to have a decimal point.Other than that, it lights up and I can see it if I am working at my desk with low light. It is a calculator and that is about all I can say about it.

I needed a lit calculator for my bar, this was a great purchase. Easy to use, display quality is good, buttons press easily. Happy with purchase.

This is NOT backlit, and uses a non-standard layout
Don’t buy this. There is not backlight, as advertised, on this calculator. Inserted (after testing) the batteries, and nothing… zero lighting. Also difficult to get used to as the decimal point is not in a USA standard position down near the zeros (0 / 00 ). Every other calc I have ever used has it there, but not this one. Its way up near the top, just under the on/off button. The small base rubber feet pads also do not grip, allowing the device to slide all over a normal desktop. You almost have to hold it still with the other hand! Forget fast finger motions with this thing. You will be hunting for the decimal, while chasing it around the table. Piece of Chinese junk!!

Backlit screen only
I bought this because I thought, erroneously, that back lit meant the screen and the keys would be visible in a dark room so that I can still work while my granddaughter sleeps at night. The screen does light up but not the keys. Overall this is the only thing I found that I did not like about this item. The keys are spaced nicely so that you can see them in the light and not hit the wrong keys. All the functions work, it is a nice little desktop calculator for doing basic math functions.

FINALLY! A calculator I can read!
I’ve been so disgusted trying to read LCD calculators, and have often wondered why I can’t just pay a little bit more for one that I can actually read. Finally, browsing around, I found these little beauties. They are exactly what I was looking for. First off, there is a nice backlight, which makes them easy to read. LOVE THAT! Then, they have a sound function which can be turned on or off. Personally, I love having it on so there’s an audio clue whenever a button is pushed. Speaking of buttons…the buttons are HUGE, making them easy to find and easy to use. My only quibble, and it’s one that I’ll get used to, I’m sure, is the placement of the decimal key. It’s up at the top instead of down at the bottom where I keep looking for it. Not a big deal, but moving it to the bottom would make these perfect.

It’s light weight. Feels a bit on the cheap side BUT it works and serves it’s purpose. I’m happy enough with it. I can’t speak to longevity as I’ve only had it a few weeks

I am absolutely delighted and enjoy using this calculator. It has a clear and attractive backlight which makes it easier for senior citizens like me to view the digits. Previously, I was using the grey led display type which makes it difficult to see. However, the key layout are slightly different, like the dot and plus minus symbols but it’s just getting used to it. All in very happy with the product.

I like to look at other reviews and personally I disregard ones having to do with possible damage during shipping, or delays.This calculators display light is really a great feature as is the tone to indicate you pressed the button (both can be turned off). This calculator is somewhat larger than other similar calculators (that’s what the pic was for). I like the bigger buttons and somewhat larger display as well.The directions are mostly in Chinese. What is in English about the button labelled “GT” is poorly explained, but it actually stands for “Grand Total”.What the “GT” button actually does is – as you do any calculation it automatically keeps a running total in the background. It’s neat that the M+ is stored in a different part of the memory meaning that you can call that number up anytime as the GT function goes along automatically. When you do the 1st calculation the GT symbol gets lit on the display and when you press the GT button after a few calculations, it show you the running total.I got used to the “.” (decimal) being in a different place almost instantly, as I do not “type” without looking. However, for those who may use a data number pad and can do blazing fast entry without looking at their fingers, like my mother used to do, this will mess that up bad. LOL.Also I got this on sale? I had it stored in the cart for “later” and I noticed it dropped in price from the ~$40~ down to like $23. $40 ish was a little steep. I jumped on this when I saw the price adjustment.

Leider echt teuer, aber die Beleuchtung ist top. Endlich ein Tischrechner, der auch eine Hintergrundbeleuchtung hat.Wie lange die Batterien halten?!3 x Micro kommt rein und die Minisolarzelle macht auch irgendetwas 😉
