We really found a winner ! This coffee pot is pretty basic compared to some , but if you are looking for a coffee maker that makes 14 cups , Keeps the coffee hot for multiple hours in the carafe then this is for you .It’s programmable as well . Price was great too !

Big mistake
We were looking for a 14 oz coffee maker with a thermal decanter to replace our beloved Betty Crocker coffee maker that made perfect coffee every time before it died after decades of use. This Krups coffee maker has been a frustrating problem from day one.Firstly, the spout is terribly designed. If the decanter is not held at a perfect shallow angle, liquid dribbles around the spout and down the side of the decanter making a huge mess. You must pour painfully slow.2nd. Fresh brewed coffee is not very hot. If you like hot coffee, you will have to put your fresh brewed coffee in the microwave to get it to proper temperature. Ironically, the decanter plate reads “caution hot”. If you like iced coffee, maybe this machine is for you.3rd. The touch screen is frustratingly insensitive and inconsistent.Finally, the reason we are sending this unit back packed with toilet paper, it has completely inconsistent brew strength. We set it to “bold” strength, and one day it is very strong, the next day, it is lighter than tea. Filters and amount of coffee ground is consistent, but not the brew strength. Rebooting and resetting does nothing.German engineering? Is this Krups or Kraps?Do not buy this product.

Decent coffee maker for the price
This is a decent coffee maker for the price. I like that the thermal carafe holds as much as it does. The timer is easy enough to program, and the coffee is good. One thing I’m not impressed with is that the coffee is not very hot, even when it is fresh. I was used to making pour-over coffee and wanted something that would have the coffee ready for me when I get up in the morning. This coffee maker does satisfy that requirement, but it does not produce coffee that is as hot as pour-over. Also, filling the water tank is fussy—the opening for the tank is small and inconveniently placed. I use a pitcher to fill it. Filling the tank from the thermal carafe is a recipe for a puddle on your counter.

Good coffee
Brews my coffee better than my previous Cuisinart automatic drip. I do mis the charcoal filter in the Cuisinart, but perhaps that was the problem? A bigger problem is I drink multiple cups over several hours. The insulated pot is exactly what I needed. The Cuisinart heating element was brutal with my coffee flavor. My brew stays warm and consistent throughout the morning. The brew basket is a minor issue. The flow valve assembly has fallen in my kitchen can while emptying the used grounds a couple of times. It is held together by a silicon cap the doesn’t take much to pop off, leaving you digging through your garbage. If you use the included basket, instead of paper filters, this isn’t a problem.

Decent coffee, annoying that it doesn’t let you put more water in
It makes decent coffee, but you can’t put enough water in it to fill the mug more than like 2/3 of the way full. There is a hole in the back of the water reservoir that spills water out if you fill it past the max fill line. I am not sure who decided to add that feature. The hole in the back of the water reservoir that spills water out does not prevent a mess.

Not KRUPS quality: Messy Pouring, Warm Coffee
1) I expected superior quality and performance because the product says KRUPS on it. FAIL! I’m sure no one at KRUPS even tested this product. It’s certainly pretty on the counter top, but functionally it’s not worthy of the name KRUPS.2) The travel tumbler is poorly designed. A mess is made on the coffee maker and counter top when pouring water into the coffee maker, and likewise when pouring its somewhat hot coffee into a proper coffee mug. And the cap leaks too, even when the opening is “closed.”3) The coffee maker brews coffee at a less than optimal temperature. Otherwise the just-brewed coffee would be warmer than 150°F (65.5°C). Note: coffee experts recommend 155-175°F (68-79°C) serving temperature. Pre-heating the travel tumbler, inside and out, is a real bother and not worth the effort. Easier to microwave the coffee mug for up to 60s on high. Measure the temperature before drinking!4) I only bought this product because of its small size for use in our motorhome. Unfortunately, the resulting coffee temperature is also size small.5) I would not recommend this coffee maker to anyone. This is the last KRUPS product I will ever consider purchasing.

Fast and convenient for 1 cup
I only need 1 cup of coffee in the morning. This coffee maker makes a good cup of coffee within 10 minutes or less from ground bean and not capsule. I like to buy my own ground coffee which is more economical. Besides I can make my coffee lighter or stronger by the amount of coffee I put in.

The Krups coffee maker is perfect for myself as I like to make coffee and take it on the go. I also find it very good to use at home as the coffee in the mug is kept at a perfect coffee temperature. I do not require a coffee maker unit that is large. The unit functions very well, there isn’t water leakage and the taste is excellent. The size of the mug is just right for carrying when I go for my walks or to my destination.

The carafe builds up pressure once hot coffee begins to fill it and prevents the last few cups of brewing coffee from dripping into carafe and pooling on the lid. Result is you return to discover a mess 25% of the time all over the counter/cabinets/floor. Can’t trust it not to do this! Had to put it on a cookie sheet to catch the flooding. It was perfect in every way, EXCEPT OVERFLOWING. I called Canadian KRUPP Customer Service = Lots of talk, Lots of questions, Promises made but never implemented. I had it exchanged and the same problems with the replacement. Our previous KRUPP Savoy was awesome lasting 10 years without once overflowing or any problem – sadly, no longer made. Sadly, KRUPP struck out and we will purchase another brand. Shame on them.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.Thank God for Amazon’s good service for issuing a prompt refund twice. Much appreciated Amazon!
