First rate small computer. Handles big jobs.
This computer, with 16GB RAM+512GB M.2 SSD is an outstanding value. It runs Windows 11 Pro, which is pre-installed, perfectly. Responsiveness is what you would expect out of a larger system with higher specs. Websites load almost instantaneously, and most applications such as word processing, Libre Office, and so on work fine.I am using this computer as a Plex Media Server, connected to an external USB hard drive with all my movies and media on it. It works perfectly. I can stream videos at full resolution to my Roku TV, and web browsers on other computers in my house. No glitches, no dropped frames, no problems of any sort. They give you an excellent piece of advice when setting it up. That is to pretend you do not have an internet connection. This will install Windows 11 Pro with a local account, and prevent it from downloading tedious updates during the setup process, which could take hours. Using a local account instead of signing up for a Microsoft account is definitely the way to go.

A Compact Full PC for Kids and Home entertainment Use
The KAMRUI AK1PLUS Mini PC packs a surprising punch despite its small size, with passmark of single core around 2100 this is equal to a high end CPU of around 2015 but its more modern so it can run 4K videos and open multiple browser tabs especially if you use Brave (not chrome). The N97 CPU offers efficient performance for daily tasks, basic photo editing, and can play older game GTA V at 720p or 1080p at low res settings.Setup is easy with included cables and if you have a fast Wi-Fi but I recommend installing a clean Win 11 Pro from scratch. The quiet fan design makes it ideal for living rooms or bedrooms. Upgrading storage is user-friendly with a 2.5″ SATA drive bay. While some might miss a USB-C port, the plentiful ports and fast Wi-Fi 6 offer good connectivity but I hope they install a USBC port in future generations of this box and I will definately upgrade then, luckily it has all the ports I need so I dont need to hook up a USBC dongle like I have to do with my regular laptops these days. I would say the AK1PLUS is a good choice for kids school and everyday computing needs, entertainment, and casual gaming at a competitive price, I will be connecting it to my projector for occasional use as media player.

Budget-Friendly Compact PC
If you’re looking for a compact PC to connect to your TV for watching videos or casual use, this mini PC is a great option! I like its sleek design and portability, making it perfect for entertainment setups where space is limited. It’s easy to hook up directly to your TV, and I love the LED lighting that gives it a gaming PC look.In terms of specs, it packs quite a punch for its size. With 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and an N97 processor (up to 3.6GHz), I think it can handle multitasking, casual gaming, and streaming. It also comes with Wi-Fi support and two HDMI ports, making it convenient if you want to use multiple screens or keep things flexible with your home setup.I’ve been using it primarily for streaming videos in 4K directly to my TV, and I’m happy to say it handles it without a hitch—no lag or stuttering whatsoever! I also played some games from the Microsoft Store, and while it’s not a high-end gaming rig, it handled the small games pretty well. The Wi-Fi performance has been stable, and I love how compact and sleek it is, making it easy to tuck away near the TV. I haven’t tried running heavy programs yet, but it feels like it has the power to manage a fair bit of productivity work too.All in all, this mini PC has been an excellent addition to my home entertainment setup. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly, compact PC for streaming or casual use, I’d recommend it!

Pretty good but a little suspicious
I bought this thing because someone asked me to put together what amounts to a messaging appliance for an elderly person. She won’t wear her glasses and refuses to use a mobile device, so a little PC connected to a 40″ TV turned out to be the way to go.This thing feels flimsy AF but I want to emphasize that it’s FINE. It’s cheap plastic and if it has any sort of internal heat sink, it has to be made of some kind of moon metal because it doesn’t even have the heft I’d associate with with a chunk of aluminum. Likewise, the included transformer (“wall wart”) isn’t in any way substantial, which makes me think it’s probably not very well made either. I have a drawer full of other options in that department. The OTHER point of concern I have is that this PC’s Windows installation is a little weird. This computer shipped with Windows 11 Professional, but the installation skipped the Out of Box Experience and only asked me to create a local user account, in spite of being connected via Ethernet. I know how to make Windows do that, but it’s really weird to find a shipping commercial product configured in that way. Absent very particular configuration, Windows 11 normally insists that users create a Microsoft account and won’t let users complete the installation process without doing so. This might be a feature for a lot of people. Microsoft accounts are kind of a headache to a lot of home users. On the plus side, it is a $100ish PC with maybe the first decent budget CPU I’ve seen since the mid-90s. The four 12th generation Intel cores + m.2 SSD make this a zippy little guy. It’s absolutely respectable for everything I bought it to do.The 2.5″ drive bay is a flat plate attached to the bottom of the PC by means of a male USB C connector. and a flimsy locking mechanism. This thing would be downright AMAZING as a small storage server if those plates were stackable or could be supplemented with a USB hub of some sort as well as the drive bay. I didn’t need it for my use, but I did test to make sure it worked. It looked and felt cheap enough that there was a real question about that. It’d probably be easy enough to 3D print something and honestly that might actually make the quality of the build go up.I’m not a fan of the constant blue LED glow from the edge of this PCs but the person I bought it for doesn’t seem to mind.
