Easier Than Standard Flatbed
I have used a flatbed scanner for years, and although it is very little used, I have one connected to my computer now. This scanner is a lot easier to use, and you don’t have to worry about being able to close the lid to scan. Yes, I can scan with an open lid, but then all the settings are not accurate. This eliminates that problem. The scans are sharp, and if doing a magazine or book, you can just leave the object in place and turn the pages between scans. It also can scan directly into Word, besides normal images, but only with Windows. With Mac you are able to only go to a pdf file. They claim to have “Auto-Flatten,” but so far, when doing a book, that feature is only partly usable. If you try to scan directly to Word, the conversion distorts many of the characters. A good unit that needs more experimenting by us.
