Great wires, great price
INITIAL REVIEW:Advertising:This speaker wire comes exactly as described and pictured.Shipping & Item condition:Arrived on time and in good working condition with no damaging.Price:$15.99 – This wire, for the gauge and amount of feet you receive, appeared to be some of (if not the) cheapest priced speaker wire I could find.Build Quality/Durability:The wire is true to size and has a nice thick sleeve that has a good feel to it. I was considering getting those fancy-looking braided sleeves, but the quality is good enough that they are unnecessary. They split and removed easily as well (though I had a wire stripper, which helped to get a clean strip/cut).Performance:I have not yet seen any performance issues with these wires. I’m not an audiophile, nor do I have special audio tools to measure their performance. Considering, however, that I ran about 20 feet around my room, and under my carpet, and still hear no issues with my surround speakers, I’d say they are up to par.Design/Features:Not much to say in this department. They’re speaker wires. What you see is what you get.Overall:Very impressed with the quality-to-price ratio you get with these wires. They look good, feel good, sound good. No complaints here!1 Year review UPDATE:I’ve had these wires for about a year now, and I have had zero issues with them. I’ve had speakers get knocked down and the wires ripped out from the connections, yet they still work fine. They’re just plain speaker wires, after all, so there’s not much to complain about. Still a great product producing great sound!

14 gauge stranded wire that works very well for many applications
This is CCA (copper clad aluminum) wire. It is a flexible, 14 gauge stranded wire that works very well for many applications. I use it as hookup wire for low level electronics such as gauges and switches to relays. It’s easy to work with and looks good when installed. I have no problem soldering this and any other CCA wire, if you are having soldering problems, you’re doing something wrong, too cold of solder joint, wrong solder, crappy equipment etc. When doing any kind of electrical soldering it is best to use solder designed for electrical applications (rosin core 60/40 blend is most common) Do not use solder for plumbing copper pipes or joints which requires an acid flux. You are asking for trouble and problems using that type of product on electrical connections (corrosion, wire and joint break down, high resistance, and it’s prone to failure) I also use a higher silver content solder for fine electrical soldering where less resistance is required for the solder joint (battery packs, battery connectors, 12v electrical motors etc.) Check the label of your solder and look for the temp range, if you don’t get it to that temp or higher it will act like cold hard butter and not flow into your solder joints. I’ve attached two photos showing a cold solder joint (which I come across a lot of from people that don’t know how to properly solder and they wonder why it failed) and a proper solder joint. The cold solder is a blob, no strength or good characteristics what so ever. The second pic shows a proper solder joint. It’s shiny, has great solder flow and a strong joint connection. Practice your soldering skills before blaming the wire. If you are looking for better wire, don’t buy the cheapest stuff you can find. Spend the money and purchase OFC (oxygen free copper) stranded wire, it is much more expensive, has better conductivity and is stronger than CCA. Hope this review is helpful.

Extraordinarily adequate
I chose this wire because it’s cheap, thick, and blue. My 23-year old Paradigm Mini-Monitors sound as awesome as they ever have when fed signal by this wire. We have a nearfield 4.1 system in a bedroom that’s also the gym and pantry, with the speakers in position when in use and put away when not. This requires lots of moving the speakers around with the wire still attached as the system still works for background music when “put away”. The wire moves easily and coils up nicely for storage. I have zero complaints about the sound quality. Does there exist expensive wire that would give a tiny increase in sound quality? Probably. Will that wire give you as much joy as spending that money on music and movies? Probably not.To bust a couple myths from other reviews: This is 14-gauge wire, not 16, or at least it’s definitely thicker than the 16-gauge Amazon basics wire we have going to the rear speakers, as shown in the photos. This is indeed a full 30 feet of wire, not 15 as someone suggested. Yes, it’s copper clad aluminum. And? We tend to think copper is for wire and aluminum is for cans, but I assure you unless you’re doing a very long run of cable, the electricity doesn’t care.Low price, high quality, and the blue looks cool. Definitely recommended.

I like it!
This is really nice wire. The insulation is soft and the wire is flexible. It’s easy to strip and work with. I like that the insulation is two different colors because it makes installation a lot easier. I had banana plugs on and ready to be hooked up in a matter of minutes. It seems to be copper washed aluminum. Honestly, I think most people that are buying 14g speaker wire will probably never hear the difference between pure copper and copper washed. I have yet to hear noise from copper washed that was properly installed and used appropriately.I will say that for as nice as this wire is for my intended purpose (home audio in my living room), the insulation is soft and almost gummy feeling. because it strips so easily I think that its possible to damage it if pulling across metal like wiring up a car. I would have no issues using it but I would use caution and not pull at it like you are hauling up a bucket of concrete.I feel that I got a good deal for what the wire is and the price point. I would buy it again without hesitation and recommend it to people looking for inexpensive but good quality wire.

Purchased a spool to wire a set of speakers into my 1993 Del Sol. Was going to add rear speakers to the car. Ended up using about half a spool in total to wire up both the speakers. The cable itself looks great and seems to be well protected by the external rubber (probably vinyl) coating. Easy to strip and solder as well as crimp. Was great to work with. I’ve seen some highs and lows in terms of weather and temperature (35 to -10 degrees celsius) and there appears to be no issues with the wire. I will say if cable flexibility is of concern it may be good to see if other reviews have made any mention of cable stiffness in cold weathers. I’m not sure if the cable stiffens in cold weather as do many cheap cables do. For me the cables are all tied and hidden behind plastic interior panels and I’ve not gotten around to checking their condition in the cold. SO far I havent had any issues that would indicate to me that the cable stiffened and or cracked due to stiffness (i.e from clanking around during cold days or from shorts to due unsheathed section of wire). So overall I think its great. Would buy again if I needed wire for automotive applications.

Bought this wire to replace the 20 odd year old wire that came with my Technics stacker system.I have to say I was sceptical at first but I’m glad I bought the wire as its good quality and does exactly what a wanted it to do.It has handy blue and blue/black wire so you can’t really get confused as to what wire goes where and the wire is of a good thickness. It fits better than I expected and meant I could make my wire runs longer, which in turn allowed me to locate my speakers in a better position.I prefer the look of the blue/black cable to the more traditional red/black as I think what you can actually see of the wires looks sleeker and more professional. The sound quality was good from these wires, but although my system is decent, it isn’t top of the range, so using these compared to the original ones didn’t make any notable difference, but to be fair I didn’t expect it to.I recommend buying these if you are looking to replace original wiring or wiring up a new system.
