Amazing laptop! Lightweight, long battery life and great sound and display!
After spending several days researching dozens of laptops, I decided on this hp pavilion 13 i3 to replace a MacBook Pro with touchbar. After having used it now for about a week, I am extremely satisfied with my choice. First off, I chose to buy refurbished and was a bit worried about the condition of the item. I was pleasantly surprised and would rate the condition as like new. The only blemish was a tiny dimple on the top of the laptop lid. Unlike some of the reviews on this item, I have not experienced low sound, battery life or speed. The battery lasts far longer than the MacBook pro and the sound quality is impressive. It is so loud that most of the time the volume is set to around 58%. It is wrapped aluminum on the deck and keyboard and has plenty of ports. It also has a card reader and biometric fingerprint scanner that works every bit as well as the MacBook touchbar. The screen and picture quality is amazing for the price and the speed is every bit as fast as the Mac. The keyboard is extremely responsive and I actually prefer it to the Mac. It is not backlit as some of the reviews state but that is fine with me and the extra battery life is more than a fair trade. The other thing I like about this computer is that the hinge is designed in such a way that when you open the laptop, it tilts the keyboard at a 20 degree angle, making it much more comfortable to type. The other thing about this laptop that sets it apart from others is the weight, it is 2.8 lbs! So light but really durable and a 10-11 hour battery is impressive! It comes with a free 30 day trial of office 360 but because the operating system is Microsoft home, you can easily download an older version of office with no problems. The only drawback with this mighty laptop is the memory, at 128 GB, it is pretty small but, upgradable. If you are a student (or professor), this laptop does the job and then some and even has a decent mic and camera for zooming. For $400 there is nothing remotely comparable to this computer, not even in the $600-800 range! I highly recommend this laptop and am very pleased with it!

Good little laptop
I was looking for a cheap laptop so I could sit outside for the summer. This does the job nicely. I was kind of worried at first, but it’s actually better than most laptops I’ve had. (I prefer desktops.) It loads sites fast and the screen looks good. The computer is lightweight and has a good battery life. I used it for 2 hours today at 100% brightness and it was still at around 80% battery life.

Not much to complain for this price
There are some very tiny scratches on the metal casing, but the screen is perfect. The battery is not perfect, it lasts about 5 hours when running SQL and some websites. There is LED backlight under keyboard. The performance of i3-8145U is decent when plugged in. Anyway, for a $320 price, this is a fair choice for student without gaming.I attached a photo to show the fingerprint reader.

High quality and very portable
This is a high quality and very portable laptop. I wanted something small and thin I could use while sitting on my couch or laying in bed. This is perfect for that. Obviously it’s not a gaming machine but if you’re looking for a portable web browsing laptop with a quality screen, this will definitely fit the bill.

Great Laptop!
I needed a new laptop for my schoolwork, and this laptop excels at everything that I throw at it. Works great for online classes, including video calls. Would definitely recommend for online classwork and any other use.

Excellent value for students
I recently bought this laptop as a replacement for my school-issued chromebook. Battery life and performance are about as good as I expected. The screen is excellent. The keyboard and trackpad are good as well, overall no complaints.I’d say by far the best use cases for this laptop are tasks like browsing the internet and doing schoolwork. For 90% of students, this is a great option when looking for a laptop.

Not Worth it !
I really wanted to love this laptop but the performance is unsatisfactory. I’ve been using it for the past four months and my touchpad has already stopped working. Definitely not worth it.Save your money.
