Hoover wind tunnel 3, Max Pet has most all of the features I wanted in an upright vacuum. The most important features were: one that would fluff up the carpet, and was heavy enough it would stay in place when using the hose. A bagless that was easy to take apart and put back together. And a big enough dust bin that I didn’t have to empty it after vacuuming every room. This one has 12 amps that gives it plenty of power and the suction doesn’t diminish as the dirt tank fills up. It’s got a pedal to turn off the roller/beater bar, so it will vacuum hard floors without spitting dust around the floor. I wanted to mention that it DIDN’T suck itself to the floor like a couple of reviews says it does. There is a dial to adjust the height. The 30 ft cord is the longest cord I’ve ever had on a vacuum. It’s bagless with a large bin. 1.5 liter. Not the biggest bin Hoover makes. But the biggest one I could find with the roller/beater bar control pedal. We have 2 hairy dogs, I vacuumed 4 large rooms and still had room for more dirt. It’s fairly easy to push, for what it is. It’s a monster vacuum weighing 18lbs. Great news, it rolls easier than I expected it would. Again, it has adjustable height, so when it seemed hard to push, I raised it up one notch. There’s a 15’ hose. With an extendable wand that disappointingly isn’t quite long enough to use on the floor without bending over. But, I’m using a longer wand from another vacuum. So, It’s not a deal breaker for me. The clear plastic does show all the dirt though. Someone like me, going from a bagged version to a bagless version might not be used to seeing all the dirt and dog hair flying around. Although it was something we were all watching at first. Theres no bags to buy but the trade off is washing the dust bin. It’s got a hepa and charcoal filter, that cannot be washed, but they don’t need replaced very often according to the directions. And it’s got a washable dirt filter that’s a flat sponge like thing. So it will be easy to wash, but It wasn’t dirty at all, so I didn’t have to wash it this time. The reviews said it was too loud? It sounds normal to me. Yes, it’s noisy, but not as loud as I thought it was going to be. The reviews said it’s hard to push the release pedal. But this one is so easy I was using it barefoot. The reviews said it was hard to take apart. But this is the easiest vacuum to take apart. A couple of reviews said they received s different model, so I double checked on the box before opening. I received exactly what I ordered. I believe the reviews must have been for a different vacuum even though they were shown under this model.

Surprised it still works
This vacuum was made right.I’ve had it now two years and the suction is still working properly.It’s lightweight makes it easy to clean stairs.

For cleaning the floors this unit does a great job! Not the most maneuverable vacuum I have ever used but the most powerful by far.May want to keep the hose extension off your last unit because I found myself wanting a little extra reach then what is provided for the hose attachments.The flexible brush hose attachment makes cleaning ceiling fans and dusting baseboards a breeze.However the powered pet brush attachment for the hose is only powered by suction! Air passing through the attachment spins a wheel that rotates the brush. This would work great if air had the density of water but with air of the standard breathable variety the torque generated is insufficient to turn the brush against fabric.Word of caution after 6 months of use. Order a second belt now if you have 2 different lengths of carpet in your home and have not been adjusting the vacuum for each length every time. I have two different lengths of carpet and just kind of split the difference on the beater brush height adjust and that extra strain killed a belt in 6 months. Putting a fresh belt on and adjusting each time has provided a superior clean and carpet texture feel so I wont be lax about the adjustment moving forward.Also in terms of vacuums I may be verging on an abusive user. Living basically on a dry lake bed my vacuum almost sees daily use to keep up with dust.The washable filter in this unit is holding up admirably with all the dust though. Seriously if you live in a dusty environment a washable filter saves a good deal of money.

Excellent replacement
Had a very similar model for about 6 years (purchased from WalMart), which worked fine one time and was completely dead the next time it was turned on. This replacement Hoover Wind Tunnel 3 Max Performance is a great upgrade in almost every way! It is slightly lighter, more easily maneuvered, the manual carpet height adjustment dial is a lot easer to manipulate, and it seems much more powerful and has better suction/cleaning than the older model. We have 2 dogs that shed, so the vacuum is used 3x a week at least. That being said, it is bagless. Even though the directions say to empty the cannister “when full” I find it necessary to empty after every use. If it isn’t emptied, it becomes clogged. While the mechanism to open the canister is easy, the emptying of the canister is icky. Open it over a large trash can. Most of the dirt falls out pretty easily, but the pet hair is very difficult to remove from the canister – static electricity maybe?? I must bang on the sides pretty hard to loosen it and the remaining dust, and even then there is quite a bit of hair and “dust” remaining in the cannister. I disassemble the cannister, soak and wash it with soap and water about once a month – taking apart,. washing, and reassembling isn’t too difficult or time consuming. However, the parts have to be completely dry before reassembling and using. The cord is a few feet shorter on this new model of the Hoover Wind Tunnel Max 3. I like this upgraded model very much for great overall performance, even though the cannister is still yukky. Order was fulfilled accurately and promptly. Item was delivered new condition and in original box.
