Very Easy to Fly and great Picture/Video Quality
In my opinion, this is and excellent drone for beginners (as I am a beginner myself). This is actually the first drone I ever bought and I thought a lot about which one to get to get started. After reading a lot of reviews and descriptions, I decided to get this HS175D drone and I am really amazed. The easy of flying, the picture quality and the stability of the drone are really impressive. When I first opened the box I was impressed how well organized everything was. The drone and the remote fit nicely into the high quality case and seem well secured. The package also includes 2 batteries, spare blades with screw driver, as well as 3 charging cables (2 for the batteries, so you can charge them at the same time, and one for the remote.) Some reviewers noted that the USB plugs are a little thick as they contain the charging electronics and LED, so you may not fit both of them next to each other on a single power brick, and that it true, but I did not really find that a big problem as I have so many USB outlets and I think its better to separate them on different outlets, just for safety reasons.Once everything was charged, I was ready to try my first flight and set up outside. Following the instructions it was super easy to start the first flight. Calibrating the drone is a bit tricky without the phone attached, as you need to constantly look at the flashing lights, but it worked. For the next flight I used the attached phone app and that made the calibration steps super easy. The WIFI connection was very stable, my only problem at the beginning was that my phone tried to switch back to my home WIFI, but after a few tries it stayed connected.Ready to fly, I unlocked the rotors and pushed the launch button and it immediately lifted up and hovered very stable a few feet away from me. I was amazed how stable the hover was. Even though there were winds up to 6mph that day it stayed within 2 feet of the start position. Amazing. It took some getting used to the controls, as they are sensitive, but I figured it out quickly and was able to fly all over the lot with ease. Again, I never flew a drone before and on my first try I flew around for 10 minutes without any incident. I have also tried out the “follow me” and “waypoint” features and the worked great. Now about the Picture and Video quality, I think they are great for fun and recreation. I took several photos and one video (see attached) and I think the quality is great. I am not sure what resolution it really is (some people have commented about 4k vs lower resolutions) but I feel it looks great, even on our big TV. When you do video, the electronic image stabilization creates some interesting artifacts, like moving ground (especially if you fly fast), but once you hover in a stable position the video quality is high and stable.Overall I can say this is a great drone for beginners and as this is my very first drone, I am really impressed and look forward to more fun flights with my HS175D drone.

Decent little cam drone!
This drone flies pretty well, but every now and then it’ll start shifting left while hovering in one spot. Battery life is great at about 20 minutes, the controls are nice and responsive, the app could be better but it’s definitely usable and most functions work reliably. The camera is good for the price, as well as the flight range. A good drone for starters for sure, It can take a beating too!

My favorite drone
I own about 6 drones now. Some are just toys for playing with indoors, but I do have another more expensive drone that is GPS enabled and that I have a lot of fun with outside. However, that drone only has a flight time of about 10 minutes, I believe due to the weight, it’s very heavy for a drone. If you’re just getting into drones, I think this is a great budget beginner drone. You won’t have the range of a DJI Mini, which this drone is very similar to, but you can have the same experience up to a limited range for more than 1/3 of the price.First, when you open the package, you’ll notice a great carrying case that fits everything, including the drone, controller, two batteries, chargers and spare props. All my other drones are in the original boxes they came in or lying around loose. This case is just another great feature of this drone. The batteries on this drone last about 20 minutes each. They’re lightweight and have a much better-charging cable than previous drones. Unlike most that use the troublesome micro USB port, these use a usb cable that attaches to the battery solidly and easily. I personally hate micro USBs, as they seem to fit poorly and wear out over time. The Controller still uses the micro USB, but this isn’t charged near as often as the batteries. One thing to note on the batteries. There is a red cap that covers the battery connection on the drone. You should keep this. This piece allows you to store a battery in the drone without the electrical connection being made. Electronic equipment should never be stored with batteries connected, as it can damage both the battery and the equipment. This HS175D isn’t near as heavy as my HS270. This drone is very compact and only weighs about 216 grams. I’ve also noticed this drone obtains GPS signal faster than my other drones and with 20+ minutes of flight time, I’m completely happy with that. The app that you use on the phone will walk you thru setup and preparation for flight making it quick and easy. The drone’s camera has a single axis gimble, allowing you to rotate it 90 degrees, from straight ahead to straight down. So, while you lose some ability to move in 3 directions like you would with a drone like the DJI Mini 2, you gain rigidity that protects the camera in the event of a crash. The app doesn’t have a lot of camera control for things like exposure, but it does work well for pictures and video.Other than the camera, the other difference between a high-end drone like the DJI Mini 2 is the connection between the camera and drone. Not to get too technical because both use Wi-Fi signals, but the DJI Mini 2 uses Occusync, which gives you a range of up to 11k yards (6+ miles), whereas this drone uses Wi-Fi on a 5Ghz channel, which has a longer range than say a 2.4Ghz signal, but it is limited and doesn’t like interference from solid objects. If you were operating in maximum conditions (no interference at all from other Wi-Fi signals and no physical interference, you might expect a range of about 650 yards at best. I think a more practical limit would be about 350 yards. When operating outdoors, you should keep a clear line of sight with your drone, or you may lose connection, and you won’t be able to navigate with the camera. The range of the controller is better and not subject to the same limitations, so you’ll still be able to control the drone, you just won’t have the camera.

This is my first drone, so no comparison. First off it came safely and securely packed in it’s own case, with foam to protect it during shipment. Case is nice quality as it’s made for the drone and each component specifically. Instructions are easy to read, QR code for the app, and link to video tutorials make learning to fly fairly easy. Although all I have done currently is hover and move around the yard (not great weather today) it is very responsive and easy to maneuver. I saw someone’s post earlier about spare parts, but mine came with spare blades, screws and screw driver….so not sure if that’s a new addition. Aside from that, I like the compact design, ease of instruction and use and look forward to some more challenging flights when the weather gets better!!! Great first drone for the cost.
Great beginner drone as advertised. Great quality for price range. Would recommend to friends. –

So here I am an amateur at best; learning to fly. Not even close to considering a purchase such as this at this time of year, I went through some pages here on Amazon, which ignited my interest in drones. I came across a landing pad for another type of drone.Excited and interested; I went to find out more and see if I could get this particular drone. Searching and searching I came across the holy stone, 175 RC remote control, drone. This peaked my interest, so I purchased this product. Now; pros, an all-around good drone for those who are looking to start out flying great flight time and great features. After sometime watching listening waiting and flying have come up with these conclusions.at its price point it does well. Its lightweight form factor makes it a little difficult to fly in my area. Stability at its price point it does well. It’s lightweight form factor makes it a little difficult to fly in my area. Stability cannot be achieved when buffed by wins greater than 35 km an hour.Drones in and around this price points are fairly good but don’t come close to the performance level seen by this so far. As someone who enjoys the outdoors, but cannot see that well I purchased a drone to experience things that well I wouldn’t be able to see you without Assistance otherwise. Getting a drone such as this could give me better views of the nature around my home environment. I look forward to Summers outside with this, but also fear the fact that at a lower price point, this may break down more frequently and with the rotation generated by the motors Friction may occur. I know if purchasing this drone I will not be able to put forth another investment of this size out-of-pocket for quite some time so the next purchase will be a drone with motors; these brushless motors are meant to reduce the impact and heat generated by these turning Blades and therefore prolonging the life of the drone for someone who is not totally blind, but limited with their eyesight. I also may consider my next drone having crash avoidance. Beginner budget. I don’t care what you call it. I want them to work for quite some time before having to retire .So enclosing, and after many typos, that I am not going to fix due to dictation issues I come up with this. I am happy with this of the holy stone 175 RC drone. I will enjoy the product and its features today, but keep in mind the following at its price point, and without the brushless motors, it’s may breakdown a lot quicker than some of the other higher end. Models, reception may be poor at times and return to home sometimes can send the unit of course by several feet. For this, I will put a tag on it , if it lands in deep grass. Only regret is not getting something with breathless motors. I am afraid of heat stress.

For $260 it’s worth the price. The drones very easy to use, the apps also easy and fun. Over all, it’s a great beginner drone.

This is my first drone so i have no comparison. It works great out of the box. The gps functions make learning easy. It holds well in low winds so far. It’s tough, as I’ve crashed it a few times already with no ill effects. Even had to knock it out of a tree 20 feet up.There are a few steps to calibrate the drone before flying but the instructions are easy to follow. Calibration must be performed carefully or the drone may not respond as you expect.Image quality is fantastic! The video does freeze on the monitor at times but the drone still operates fine. The internal card makes for easy storage and the photos are easy to retrieve on the app.Overall a great choice for a beginner with a price that is easy to handle. And it’s fun!
