    Very good product
This is my first bread machine, and I am very satisfied with this product. Reasons:- Costs a lot ($30) less than a similar product from Cuisinart that does not get as good reviews- Arrived quickly, well packaged (with outside cardboard box) and undamaged- Very compact (more so than I thought) and lightweight, nice looking finish- Comes with measuring spoon, measuring cup, and paddle removing tool (for the times when the paddle remains embadded inside the loaf – super easy to extract it)- Well made where it counts (non-stick baking pan, non-stick and metal paddle), simple where it does not (basic, non-lit display)- Easy to use- Programs include jam (I will try it soon)- Very easy to clean (with a wet paper towel, no detergent) thanks to the non-stick pan and paddle- Well-written manual, basic recipes shown are accurate and well explained (so far I tried basic bread, french bread and sweet bread)- Does not “walk” on my counter (I placed it on a sliding plastic tray)- Relatively quiet, does not bother me at allMy only wish is that the lid was a little taller. When baking a 2 Lbs. loaf the rising dough just touches the lid and makes a bit of a mess, but it is not hard to clean it.Also, it had a strong and not very pleasant chemical smell (coming from the main unit, not from the baking pan) when it arrived. As recommended in the manual, I let it bake with an empty pan for 10 minutes a couple of times and now the smell has subsided almost entirely. Anyway, it does not affect the flavor of the bread, although I would recommend to operate and store it inside a well-aired room the first few days. All in all an excellent and reasonably priced product – I would definitely buy it again!

    LOVE IT!!
I just love this bread maker, I’m making bread every few days and we just love it! The instructions are clear and easy to follow, the bread comes out great and with a little creativity you can go savoy or sweet with the recipes. The bread maker seems to be very well made and is fairly quiet with add in signal to add nuts or other ingredients. my favorite is the cinnamon raisin bread I make from the French bread recipe and setting. Great deal and love the bread!

Great little bread machine – perfect for small loaves
Short review: Recommended for anyone in need of a compact, light weight, relatively low-cost bread machine that has plenty of features and functions and makes tasty loaves.Long review:The Hamilton Beach Artisan Bread Machine is a handy replacement for an old Sunbeam bread maker that reached end of life recently. The new unit is light and takes up much less counter space than the previous unit. The 1 lb loaves are perfect for 2 people to use while the bread is still fresh.I considered several other models including the HB basic (12 function) bread machine that was recently listed as a best budget buy by America’s Test Kitchen. Since I do like to make artisan loaves in occasion and based on some other comparisons between the basic and artisan machines, I decided to spend the few extra dollars for the artisan machine. The basic model may fit your needs and save some money if you don’t need the artisan model’s features). I’m happy with the choice of the artisan machine – it makes great bread, looks nice, and has plenty of features for experimenting with different bread and dough types.I am impressed at how well the machine was packed for transport and an including some photos from the unboxing. There’s a styrofoam packing block under the pan that must be removed before use (a bright yellow warning note to that effect is provided).Once unboxed and cleaned, I started with the basic white sandwich recipe in the owners manual and it made some of the best sandwich bread I’ve had in recent memory. I followed that up with a sun dried tomato & cheddar cheese loaf that’s also very tasty.I’m looking forward to experimenting with the other modes and having fresh bread from my own kitchen.

Good bread maker with a few downsides
This is a good bread maker with a fair price.Pros:Compact size which does not take too much of my counter space.Makes good bread.Good functionalities.Cons:Too light based, the whole unit travels to everywhere when kneading.Very loud. Can’t use it constantly because it will be overheated easily and stop working. I had to unplug it and let it cool down before use it again. The kneading pad has lost some of its coating after approximately 2 months of use.It is a little trick to remove the kneading pad.Don’t use the hook that comes with it, that thing is sharpe and will scratch off some of the coating. It does not have a customized function nor a separate kneading function. I have been using the dough one for kneading (it will knead for 25 minutes and proof the dough, you need to set up an alarm if you don’t want to proof the dough yet).Otherwise this is a very budget friendly bread maker.

Title. I always do whole grain loaves. Straight forward manipulations. One thing to keep in mind, I’d start with 1 lb loaves and gauge the result. I found myself putting too much yeast although the instructions say so. I also find that 1.5lb is the maximum. I don’t consider these drawbacks, more like fine-tuning.
