An absolute powerhouse of a Vac
I’m getting into car detailing and wanted an electric vac and even though this was a little expensive for me, I found it to work REALLY well. I’ve had this for 2 months-ish and never once had the vacuum die on me in the middle of a cleaning. For something battery powered this particular vac has medium to strong suction. It even has car accessories attachments to make it easier to clean hard to get to areas. The size of the vac is probably the size of a regular pillow, as you can see in my photo it fits perfectly in my truck even though there’s a big dual sub taking up all the space. lol. Also for anyone worried it comes with its OWN battery and OWN charger for said battery. It comes with everything you would need.

Awesome product
Great addition for the boat. The portability is amazing. Works as advertised.

Works pretty well-Battery provided stinks
I found the suction to be quite good especially for a battery operated unit. What I find bad and Im really not happy about is that Ive used it 2 times and each time I timed how much basic car vacuuming I get on a fully charged 2.0 amp battery and its a measly 10 minutes. With spending this amount of money I would think I could get more than that. They advertise on this purchase page up to 25 minutes of usage on a 2.5 amp battery. Why market that if your only giving the customer a measly 2.0 amp battery that lasts 10 minutes? Had I known about this I might have just purchased the vacuum and gone and purchased a 3rd party battery for it that are much much cheaper than what they sell them for. I can ALMOST vacuum my whole car in 10 minutes ALMOST. Forget about vacuuming the wifes car after mine.

This vacuum sucks….and that’s good.
This was to replace an old Home Depot portable that used NiCad batteries. The suction on this vacuum is great for a battery powered unit. Although it’s a bit chunky, it’s not too heavy and does a great job with pet hair and general cleaning up. It would be nice if the hose was a bit more stretchy to reach dirt more easily. When attempting to stretch 6 feet the hose causes the vacuum to slide along the floor. Overall very satisfied. The noise level is acceptable and seems no louder than my similar Kobalt unit or the older Home Depot unit.

Impressive – 40V Brushless Motor
The suction on this portable brushless vacuum is really impressive compared with other portable vacuum (18v Milwaukee) that I have tried. The storage compartment where the battery and attachments go is sleek. I am going to keep this vacuum and use it for camping, small jobs around the instead of my larger Craftsman 16 gallon vacuum. It is convenient, like a handheld but way more powerful.

It’s… Meh… and that’s from a greenworks fanboy
As background, let me just say I love greenworks products (not their customer service, check 1 star reviews on their other products to see what I mean). My first purchase was their 80v power snow shovel (awesome if you live in a snow belt but don’t have a lot of area to clear, btw). Coming from 12 and 20v tools, this was a big step up and I went on to buy most of their 80v line (lawnmower, blower, chainsaw, string trimmer, and edger to date). Maybe my problem with this vacuum is that it’s my first 40v tool, and I’m just used to their 80v products?Well, I’ll tell you that I was regularly checking for sales on the greenworks 80v snowthrower and spotted this 40v vacuum probably the day it came out. Having bought into the 80v line, I wasn’t really excited about now having to buy and maintain a new battery size… but the sale was ludicrous ($120 in case you’re wondering… though probably amazon will edit this out). The vacuum itself is nice… very light (the 40v battery is less than 1/2 the weight of the 80volt monsters… which I really liked), has in-built storage for the 2 vacuum heads, hose stores nicely (albeit isn’t very long). It feels pretty good, though the plastic is in fact thin and I can see the clips (holding the top vac unit to the collection base) wearing out over time. That said, the 40v battery weight is much easier to handle than the 80v ones… and it comes with a USB port built in for charging your phone and such (nice touch, +1 star right there!). All-in-all the unboxing was worthy of 5 stars. Then I had the unfortunate need to use this sucker (pun intended). My DIY hydro set up failed (drip set up, drain tube clogged) and there was about 10 gallons of nut solution all over the tent floor. Even though I had ready access to a plug, there’s something incredibly valuable in the freedom of cordless. Popped in the battery and powered up no problem. Except for one thing… this bad boy just doesn’t suck. In a bad way. Yeah, it works, but liquid suction was minimal. Maybe the provided vac heads just don’t “focus” the suction for liquids. Barely picked up even dry hydroton balls. Maybe the 40v power supply is weak.Though it did suck up some of the liquid and clay balls when directly within the suction head, the storage for liquids is actually pretty small (because the float dips low into the storage tank) – so whatever limited suction it had also required frequent tank emptying. After about 30 minutes of a truly unsatisfying experience (my tomatoes were also all dead, so maybe I was just in a bad mood)… I gave up and hauled my 12 gallon ridgid out of a closet. That beast is 1/2 the price but I’m guestimating it provides about 5x the suction power. I was using a squeegee head – which probably gave it an advantage – but hey, that squeegee head comes with the product so I say fair game. The ridgid sucked every drop of water up in under 1 minute. Hydroton beads were being pulled in from 1-2 feet away. And I didn’t have to empty the tank until it was done. And, finally, that plug-in ridgid is 1/2 the cost of the greenworks vacuum – even at the ludicrous sale price I managed to get.At the end of the day, I REALLY want to like this product. I’ll probably find a use for it someplace. (stupid expensive car vacuum?) But I can’t strongly recommend this. If portability is a priority AND you already own a plug-in shop vac… maybe. What I’d really recommend is buying 2 shop vacs for the same money (actually 3 at today’s price for this vacuum). And Greenworks, if you’re listening, make an 80v version of this and I’d consider trading up.

Great tool and battery.
I already have the green works 40 V lawnmower, and was looking to buy a battery for that. Instead, I bought this vacuum that came with the battery. I feel like it’s a better value for money, and it provides pretty good suction. Super useful for cleaning out vehicles. I haven’t used it for other tasks, and I’ve yet to use it for the wet function, but so far I really like the item. I will say it’ll probably be a better idea to add some tape to the outside of the hose, where it connects to the vacuum, as that seems to turn and pop out pretty easily.

Wet filter
Great portable vacuum but needs a wet filter not just the paper filter.

First of all I was sad to realize this wasn’t compatible with my 40v greenworks battery. Then I went to many stores that sold Greenworks products and none of them had a compatible battery working on this product! You won’t get this problem with other brands, they make their products compatible if on the same voltage.
Dont fit with my battery –
1rst Its suppose to fit with every 40V battery but my 40V 4Amp dont fit! The problem is some plastic piece between the contact. I cant fully push the battery. Looks like the changed something. Look at the pictures2nd The 40V vacuum is not on the greenwork website, hard to getting support
