What is the all the fuss about?
I don’t see how you can get shocked with this as some have said unless you’re using it wrong. I tested this by getting a large bowl and filling it about half way with water. I attached the blending arm. The bottom of the blending arm is sealed so there is no way for liquid to travel upward toward the motor. I think what some are doing is immersing the blending arm all the way up to to the hilt in liquid. Imagine filling your kitchen sink with water. Then using the blending arm in the sink at the bottom of the sink filled with water. You are obviously going to deep. This of course risks getting liquid into the motor. Common sense should tell you don’t immerse the blending too deep. This a super value for the number attachment alone. If in the future I run into a problem I will update this review.

Started smoking and stopped
The very first time that I used this immersion blender was to make a tomato bisque soup. About halfway through blending, my tomatoes smoke started boiling out from the top near the buttons and it had an odor of burning circuitry. The unit absolutely stopped working after that. Absolutely unequivocally totally do not buy this product. It is complete and total trash. Spend the extra money and get something from KitchenAid. I tried to record a video of the smoke coming out from the extremely hot unit but I wasn’t able to because it wouldn’t turn back on. The 158° that you see in the photograph is of the handle near the buttons where it started to smoke. So fair warning. This is a dangerous device

Very versatile
My son in law wanted an immersion blender. I gave him this as a gift. He was pretty excited and impressed that it came with multiple attachments. Saves room in the kitchen since it’s multiple appliances in one.

So Powerful!
This is the best hand blender I’ve ever had or used. There are so many attachments, I was able to get rid of several other mixers. It’s also the most powerful, with an adjustment dial on the top. Great product, I highly recommend!

Potential Shock, Fire, and Electrocution Hazzard
If it wasn’t for what could cause a major injury, it would be great mixer. It’s fast, plenty of power, awesome assortment of attachments, however I don’t feel we can move past its one potentially serious problem. The problem is the immersion attachment isn’t sealed internally, and as you mix liquids, some of that liquid is sucks or pushed up the shaft of the mixer. No amount of rinsing will remove it, and even the next morning the shaft will be dripping the mixed liquid. We use it to mix protein powder into our coffee, or blend in some lentil soup for a smoother texture. If the only issue was that inconvenience, we might accept it, however, the problem doesn’t stop there. Those liquids (hot or cold) will actually end up dripping out of the motor assembly when you disconnect the immersion tool to clean it. – This is a potential shock, fire, and possible electrocution waiting to happen if plugged into a non-GFCI protected outlet. How can you design an immersion blender and not seal the immersion mixing attachment!Going to try returning the mixer, it’s been less than 30 days, and hopefully it was Prime and eligible for a free return.

Malfunctioned
This blender is somehow sucking liquid up from the immersion blender attachment into the motor… I’ve used it a handful of times since purchasing and it’s happened every time, now the standard blending mode doesn’t work. Unfortunately I was outside the return window. I expect it will be trash soon.

Only used 3 times and on the third time, it sucked up the soup into the motor and shorted out. Worked great until this point.
