Good canned non-perishable drink cooler, runs constantly
This mini-fridge is tiny and holds 6-10 canned drinks depending on the size of the cans (easily fits 9 tall ones). I got it for my daughter to store energy and other drinks and it seems to do a nice job of keeping them cool – but be prepared that it is designed to run constantly (does not shut off like a regular refrigerator) so expect a fan / white noise akin to a hot computer that’s working hard (video gives you an idea of this). The little handle is a bit hard to use for big hands but otherwise it is a nice compact unit. It’s much better to put an already cool drink in than a hot drink but it eventually will cool them to around 38-40F. Note that there is no thermostat per se – it just is a relative cooler based on the room temperature. Expect it to cool 30F from room temperature – so obviously it’s best used in indoor spaces that have temperature control vs. a hot car, garage, or utility space. There are several different versions of these types of small mini-fridges marketed by different companies. This Frigidaire is manufactured in China by Curtis International Ltd., a Canadian company. It is a thermoelectric cooler meaning it doesn’t have a compressor that circulates a coolant (like R-140) to exchange heat and instead uses a semiconductor device to exchange heat. It’s small and looks good / cute and it does a decent job of keeping drinks cool. It is NOT meant for raw or perishable foods and drinks per the manual – which says these items should not be stored for longer than 1 hour. I used a laser temperature reader and verified that for a room of 68F it was able to cool the can to 38-40F.
