    Essential for Learning FPV Drones
This book has been a HUGE aid for me in improving my skills in learning to fly an FPV drone. Although I am a huge fan of Joshua Bardwell’s video tutorials and spend many hours on drone simulator software, this book explains the mechanics of how and why FPV drones fly in a way that the videos and simulators fail to do. The book is well written with many illustrations and is easy to understand. It is well worth the investment if you wish to improve your skills in this devilishly difficult hobby.

It’s not just a compendium, it teaches you HOW TO THINK about flying.
This book is amazing. I had been flying for about a year, learning from assorted videos and tutorials scattered across the net. I bought this book because I thought it would just save me from all of the hunting, and consolidate everything I needed to know into one place. I thought it was just a compendium.Boy was I wrong. It does that and So. Much. More. The author introduces concepts and a way of THINKING about flight I’ve never seen anywhere else. It’s amazing. Before this book I was learning through memorization. Now I understand WHY the quad behaves the way it does, and how to get it to do whatever I want. It’s one thing to memorize and bang out a basic split-S with insanely high rates. But this book allows you to understand what the quad is doing at every moment along it’s trajectory, and how to manipulate it to do exactly what you want. You’re no longer limited to the things you’ve memorized. It’s a must have for anyone that flies FPV.Full disclosure: I’m only halfway through the book, but leaving the review now because it’s already been so impactful. My flying has improved enormously.

Amazing FPV resource, ESSENTIAL for new pilots!
Being in the hobby for only a short while, YouTube and practice (sim, spot and bench) get you only so far – though I must shout out Joshua Bardwell, that dude and several pilots via social have helped me tremendously in terms of acquisition of knowledge. What Christian did here is something completely different. 1) Wrote an amazing, useful guide applicable to literally any skill level in the hobby. 2) Broke down the IMPORTANT parts – especially the things you learn either after many crashes or intense mentoring with an advanced pilot, in a book that’s super easy to digest. And 3) Communicates a passion and dedication to the hobby that simply doesn’t come through in books like this – you can just tell he’s an exceptional pilot who has a passion for helping others improve quickly.Extra credit for the amazing diagrams, pictures, explanations, and autograph!!If you’re new to the sport, or plateaued, or simply wanna know more about how to get the most out of your quad, for the price of a a broken part or two, this book just seems like a must have.I received nothing for this review, and rarely write them.

    How to think in FPV
Great book of reference for beginners. Very informative and broken down and illustrated very well. I’ve just completed section 2 and it has already helped me understand my stick inputs much better. The mind of an experienced FPV pilot broken down and illustrated for us all to understand and learn. If you’re just starting out, get this book. You will be referring back to it over and over again throughout your journey. It’s worth it for rates explained alone…

This book is the single best FPV resource available
I took up FPV quads as a pandemic hobby. I have watched a lot of videos and read a lot of posts from well-known authorities in the FPV world on the web, in my efforts to hone my skills and knowledge. After nine months of struggle, I came across a recommendation for this book. What an amazing resource! I could have saved so much time, money and frustration if I had this book on day one of my dive into this hobby.Even having spent almost year combing through the collective knowledge of the internet, this book is giving me new ways to think about how I am doing things and better ways to do them. The book is a singular resource that explains things from the bottom up in plain english and is loaded with helpful illustrations. If you are anything less than an expert at FPV, this book belongs in your library. To the author: “Hey man, I read your book. You are teaching me how to fly.”

    Excellent book on FPV
I really learned a lot from this book especially since im a beginner in the FPV world and Acro mode has been a challenge.. I recommend reading this book to all drone pilots and what’s nice is you can go back and reference this book anytime and it doesn’t get old.

    WAY exceeded my expectations!
I really expected just a short pamphlet with some basic data on flight dynamics and a few freestyle tricks. There is s much more here. Just the size and thickness and print quality of the book was surprising. So much here. Lots of data covering drones in general, pretty much everything covered in at least a basic level. Drone anatomy, setup transmitters cameras, props, and on it goes. Then there is all the flight dynamics and maneuvers, some of them pretty advanced. Very useful stuff like for example what to look at first in your goggle display when you are flying fast and maneuvering and only have a few tens of milliseconds to evaluate the situation! Finally, the quality of the illustrations is very very high. It is a pleasure to look at! This will occupy me for weeks to come. Bravo.

Good read for beginners or those interested in the hobby
This book is not a difficult read though some of it does get a little technical. What it does go over does help one understand the dynamics of flying a quad. Recommend this along with a simulator program like Lift Off.

As promised, this book breaks down the fundamentals of FPV flight, and how it differs from fixed wing flying. It really brings a perspective that is different from the YT vids and tutorials that most of us rely on to learn this crazy hobby. If you love FPV, you’ll love this book!

La mejor forma de progresar en el fpv, todos y cada uno de los temas te enseñan algo útil, sin importar tu nivel. Después de leerlo entendí muchos aspectos que no había notado nunca.Me hubiera gustado una versión impresa accesible en México.

Christian describes on 300 pages everything you need to know about FPV acrobatic drones, UAV quadcopters normally flown without the support of self-stabilizing control modes like attitude or GPS. The book is easy to read, thanks to a clear, fresh language and hundreds of high quality graphics, visualizing the important stuff. Absolutely worth its money. Thank you Christian, for opening up a new world for me.
