Listen, I never really cared about air filters. I figured, “Eh, how bad can the air really be?” Well, turns out, REAL BAD. A bit small
I was very upset that FedEx left my box of filters sitting out in the rain when just 3 steps more and they would have been under the porch. I hate FedEx because of stupid stuff like this.I was surprised to open the box & find that the filters were 23.5 x 23.5, but upon reviewing the description it does state at the very end that they are 1/2″ undersize. Had. I realized that I probably would not have ordered them, but they fit well enough & come out much easier so I will use them. The filter media seems a bit thicker than the store brand I had been buying, so that is a plus. Overall I would recommend these, just be aware that they are a bit smaller than the size ordered.

Smaller than you might expect
In my many years of experience replacing air filters, I’ve found that filters are consistently 1/4 inch smaller than their nominal size. This is to accommodate the metal grill frame and the screw heads that are used to install the frame. The cardboard edge of the filter will hold it in place against the typical screw heads.These filters are 1/2 inch smaller than their nominal 14×14 size. As a result, they don’t hold themselves tightly in the metal frame. I solved this by taping the filters all around with blue painter’s tape.So, this is partly or mainly my own fault, because the Amazon description clearly says 13.5 x 13.5 in big black font, I just didn’t see it. Still, I’m P.O.’ed enough about their small size and the need for tape that I’m dinging the product 2 stars.If you really want 13.5 x 13.5 inch filters, then these are the ones for you, at a great price.
