A solid micro shredding piece of equipment —
This micro cut shredder has performed beautifully. It’s very quiet and shreds paperwork into the smallest bits I’ve yet to find with any other personal shredder. The power cutter portion weighs more than I expected, but that helps it have stability, so I don’t view that as a negative. And the window on the front drawer makes it easy to keep track of the amount of shredded contents. I only insert two or three pages at a time, figuring I don’t want to stress this wonderful piece of equipment nor deal with a potential paper jam. My last shredder also listed 8-12 sheets at a time, was always jamming, and finally burned out the motor during an unexected jam.The paper bin holds a surprisingly large amount of debris. Opening the drawer, however, will create some mess as paper bits hanging from the shredding unit and paper dust will fall into the shredder base and onto the floor. Having the vacuum cleaner nearby is mandatory when emptying the bin. Still, no big deal as far as I’m concerned. The roller wheels move easily and smoothly.Overall I’m very pleased with this unit. The added plus is that Amazon’s price was lower than other providers and the unit was delivered to my home in just a few days, saving time and gas.

QUIET | Cuts Smooth As Butter
I previously owned a FELLOWES paper shredder, cross-cut style and that attached over its own bin / basket; a medium duty, medium PRICE item, that overheated (as expected to do) after operating for 15 solid minutes of use. It only took 2 sheets of paper, at a time, and after 10 years (light to medium use, for junk MAIL) the motor still ran, but it ceased to accept paper. | So, now I’m here having just purchased a NEW model! This model caught my attention, after reading REVIEWS that it “lasted 10+ years” and “shredded a whole filing drawer, without stopping”. | I had a whole grocery BAG of paperwork to shred, which I normally save up and then do all at once. It sounded like this machine was up for the challenge! | After 1 1/2 HOURS of continuous shredding, the machine finally went into “overheat” mode and cut off the motor; 1 hour later, it had COOLED itself off and was ready to go again. | I love how the BIN slides in and out, effortlessly, which I then dump into a 30 gallon sized bag; it’s half full, after 5 full bins! The shredding blades and motor is not operable, as a built in safety measure, when the bin is removed. | The WHEELS slide smoothly and even have a lock-in-position on them! | The shred SIZE is literally smaller than a pea; the next smallest size is used by the government, for the shredding of their sensitive documents! | If a piece of paper has even a slightly CRUMPLED edge or if the paper bunches up, upon entering the feeding slot, the shred size is then more like that of a cross-cut. It doesn’t happen often, nor worries me, but it’s just a good TIP! | This machine is very QUIET and could be used in the next room over, from a sleeping person. | I have fed no more than 3 sheets of PAPER, at a time, to prevent the motor from being overworked and thus, lasting for the long term. It also depends on the thickness, weight, etc.*************UPDATE*************** This shredder is one heck of a powerful unit; approx 2″ of paperwork will shred and fill the bin, in about 5 minutes total! The machine overheated 1x, after I filled the bin 3+ times consecutively. The cool off time was amazing @ around 30 minutes!

A real shredder and worth the price
This is a real shredder. We bought it to replace another Fellowes shredder that finally died. This one is about 50% more expensive than the last but it is much, much better. The motor is quiet yet powerful. I would say that it handles the advertised number of pages but I would advise against stuffing it with that many sheets. Use fewer, take a little longer, and extend the life of the machine. I put no more than 5 ink jet printer weight sheets at a time in and it handles them like a champ. I also follow instructions to oil the blades after each load (maybe 75 – 100 sheets to fill the basket). It takes a few seconds but I think in the long run it will pay off. I bought Fellowes oil at Walmarts because I didn’t have a good dispensing bottle and didn’t want to wait for a shipment. That proved to be an expensive way to go (vs buying through Amazon) but since canola oil is the recommended oil, it was worth it to get a bottle of oil quickly and then refill with regular canola oil. One would think that for $160 they could include a bottle of oil.I have had a number of shredders and this is by far the best. Spend a little more and you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend it to anyone who does a lot of shredding and doesn’t want a toy.

Very impressed by this shredder, I had an older shredder from staples and it wasn’t working well and I was getting tired of so I found this one and read great reviews. I shredded a big pile of papers, it took me maybe 30 minutes or a bit more, I filed up twice the basket haha .. it never overheated, I never forced it only put 2-3 pages at once, it does say it can take 10 sheets, I tried it but you could see that it was harder on it so, I took my time. Also very quiet compared to the old one I had.

Works great. Quiet and easy to use. Shreds to confetti size. Little awkward to empty because of all the small pieces but get used to it.

After researching affordable shredders I settled on this one. One type did not want was the strip shredder variety. I am quite pleased with the choice. It it capable of shredding credit cards as well as about five sheets of good quality paper at a time without effort. It is much quieter than our previous shredder and seemingly faster. I like the tiny bits of paper when it shreds. With one of the strip ones that we still have, I manually mix the paper to make it more difficult to reconstruct. With this machine, I don’t feel it is necessary. I feel more secure in the disposal of our financial and personal information using this micro cut shredder.
