I like the features and design that are similar to those of my last Epson printer.
It prints, scans, and copies very well. The inks are expensive but, they do not last very long under normal use. I would not recommend using generic ink cartridges because, the printer will eventually reject them after it detects their installation. If you use this type and brand of printer for extended periods, the black ink jets will dry out and clog rendering the printer unusable therefore, I recommend frequent use or maintenance to prevent ink jet nozzles from dry clogging. This is what happened to my last Epson printer after four years of use when I let it set idle for several weeks. It ended up as electronic recycle waste because, that dry clogging issue cannot be repaired.Update: My previous printer was damaged when a seismic event caused a shelf with wall anchors to fall on top of it and break the scanner glass so, I purchased a replacement printer. My new XP-4105 replacement printer works as well as my original XP-4100 printer used to. I was forced to use heavier duty wall anchors because the wall studs in my apartment are made of a thick steel alloy that my drill bits cannot penetrate. To be on the safe side, I moved my new printer away from that location.

❌ WARNING ❌ INK SCAM
❌ BUY ONLY IF YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO USE EPSON BRANDED INK. EPSON DISABLES THE PRINTER WITH FIRMWARE UPDATE. And if your ok with knowing this then go ahead and purchase as it a great little printer It worked perfectly fine with the 3rd party ink until I updated the firmware when I received a message stating “update firmware” and suddenly my printer was disabled. This firmware update conveniently occurs a month or so after you are able to return. VERY SUSPICIOUS- SCAM!! I have written and called EPSON trying to work this out but they will not do anything other than suggest you purchase EPSON ink. The company would rather you waste perfectly working NEW product & pollute the environment AND waste your money than to allow you to revert back to the previous firmware which would allow your printer to work again with the 3rd party ink . THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING If this was clear at the time of purchase or clear at the time of updating the firmware then yes it would be completely my choice and my decision BUT it is not clear at both the time of purchase and with the firmware update. Very questionable sketchy business practices. I feel EPSON is not clear upfront and is knowingly running this ink scam on their customers. I will never purchase an EPSON product again!

Prints with Bluetooth connection
I like that it prints nice and clear. Multi-functional with scanner. Fairly easy to use. I don’t like that I cannot change print quality to draft to save on ink. Seems to use a lot of ink and Epson recommends only using their ink as other cartridges might not work. Wish I had gotten the printer I can fill myself with the little bottles of ink. I would prefer a user book over having to go online to look up directions, but everyone is doing that now. Good printer though. Recommend as long as buyer knows about the ink. I thought I did my research, though obviously there are things I missed.

So I had the printer about a year now and here is what I can say about it:- Installation is easy, however, I cannot get to connection setup wirelessly to my computer. Driver installed, everything looks good but when I hit the print button, literally nothing happens. Contacted tech, reinstalled everything and still nothing. Printing from my phone still works, however. In the end, I bought a direct cable and now it prints normally but not wirelessly from pc to printer.- INK REPLACEMENT IS BRUTAL WITH THIS PRINTER. You will have to buy a new cartridge about every 10 pages printed. NOT WORTH IT.- I am keeping this printer because I don’t need to print excessively but anyone who will be printing at a moderate pace with this thing will spend easily a few hundred bucks a month on just INK alone. So don’t get fooled by the inexpensiveness of the printer itself. The ink is where they get you.- The worst of all is that even if you decide not to use the color ink, and only want to print in black and white the printer won’t allow you. It is mandatory that you buy and install new cartridges all the time. You can’t just buy the black ink. If you look at the cost of the ink, it’s more expensive than the printer.Save your money for the long run, do not buy.
