Lots of Room!
Update w/ pictures Aug. 2024: This unit is vented on the bottom to help keep my quartz counter cooler, as the rim is 1″ high with approx three-fourths-inch of air space between the vents and the heating coils — the coils are fully encased and attached to the pan itself, not the rim, the coils are not exposed. The rubber feet add one-half-inch more of air space under the unit (the feet are screwed on, replaceable, and can’t scratch the counter as they are counter-sunk). My quartz countertop, after several hours of simmering, will get warm to the touch, not hot. When quick cooking a stir fry, or getting a browning/sear on meats, those require higher temperatures, but for a much shorter time period. Even then, the quartz has never gotten too hot to touch.I love this pan. I don’t see a negative for owning this 16″ very heavy pan, but this is the most negative thing I could say: The cooking surface, the body, can be cleaned in the dishwasher, but it takes up a lot of space that is better utilized for washing all the mixing bowls, plates, cups and other gadgets I’ve used. So, I hand-wash it, lifting by both handles and setting it into the single basin sink to clean the bowl — then turn it over in the sink to wash the bottom and side. Rinse the whole thing, and then clean the lid too, done.Bonus: The 16″ lid is vented to let steam escape, preventing the water or other liquid from sputtering out the side. No problems with a messy counter.I use the temperature control just like I use the knobs on a gas or electric cooktop – I turn it up or down as needed — but I’m getting better at judging where to set the temp for this pan. My cooking style is not to use more heat or fat than necessary to get the job done. I’ve used for semi-fried/poached eggs, adding boiling water after eggs have set their “fried” edges — and omeletes, steaming veggies, stir fry, browning, and my favorite, saute. Good for 1 pot meals, long simmers or quick a quick fry.For instance, a simmering dish: I pre-heated to 375, added chicken pieces for browning, turned the heat down to around 300 to 350 to finish browning – adding the garlic and other ingredients last, and then set for a saucy simmer (gravy lover here) until fork tender. The temperature control cycles on and off during during a simmer, which I set at *just under* 250 on the dial.Per the manual, you can pan-fry food in up to 1 cup of oil — and it does a great job when done right. Also, per the manual “This unit is not designed to deep fry” — so the doughnut video and other pics showing enough oil to float the food may not conform to the proper use of this pan. The Tips and Hints section is helpful. In the back there are a few recipes to try also.

great skillet without yucky no stick coating
I used to use a rectangular electric griddle for pancakes. I’ve become less and less interested in cooking on no stick surfaces and so was looking for a stainless steel replacement. My mom and dad have this same skillet and like so I bought one too. Initially I might have only given 3 or 3.5 stars because the heat was somewhat uneven. In particular the middle didn’t get as hot. Pancakes made this quite obvious! Then I happened to make pancakes on my parents and they tried mine and we all agreed that theirs was considerably better than mine. Contacted CucinaPro as it was still under warranty and they sent out a replacement. The replacement came and it is fantastic which is why my rating is now 5 stars instead of 3. So, why do I like this?1) Controlled temp is more consistent than something on my gas stove.2) Big enough to make food for our family of 5.3) Product may be submerged which helps clean up considerably. My sink isn’t big enough to actually submerge it but since they say you can, I don’t worry about using the sprayer to rinse with impunity.4) Easy cleanup.5) It is big enough to replace the old electric griddle I had but also is deep enough to be a lot more versatile. While I don’t use the lid much, I do sometimes and that is nice as well.6) Stainless steel + glass (the lid) makes me feel good about it both in terms of durability (stainless steel won’t just wear off or get accidentally scratched through) and food safety (can use metal utensils without worrying about scraping off flakes of no-stick coating and don’t have to use plastic utensils which may melt a little into food). In short, we like it, we use it quite a bit. Pancakes figure in quite heavily but also have made sweet and sour cabbage, scrambled eggs, etc.Update (almost 10 years later):We use this 1-2 times a week and have for the last decade now. Still works great. We still love it. It’s a winner.

Works great but
I love the looks of this stainless steel electric fry pan. You can serve from it right on the table because it’s so beautiful. The only complaint and it was in other reviews I read before purchasing. The electric plug in to the pan is very loose. It’s easily knocked out of the pan. You have to be careful of that problem. It’s not a tight fit. However, with that in mind, I have recommend it.

Works great and good size
Good skillet and a good size. I had to replace my old one as it only heated on one side. This one cooks evenly and is much deeper that my previous one so I can not only make things like pancakes but it is deep enough to cook much larger quantities of food like stew or spaghetti sauce.

I have been cooking with stainless for decades and prefer it because I have a teflon sensitive pet that would die from overheated teflon cookware. With stainless you can heat the pan up to searing temperatures and as a added bonus, the brown bits left behind in the pan (fond) create an amazing sauce when a bit of water is added to deglaze the pan. I have a teflon crape pan but I prefer to use this stainless steel electric because I like having the crispy gold buttery edges on my crepes. Excellent temperature control. Be sure to add any fats after the pan is heated to create a slippery natural nonstick surface.

the Panis gorgeous Well finished and heavy. I seasoned it and as I expected the centre of the Pan has heat and the outermost 1 inch is cooler.Aside from that the Panheated quickly and evenly It held its heat well and did not constantly turn on and offExcellent test run.

This is our third polished stainless steel frying pan – no non-stick coating, thank you. We needed a LARGE one, and this is! Heat distribution seems quite even (maybe a little cooler about 1″ from edges). Rated for 1700 W, and confirmed by measuring the Amps it draws when on. Very pleased.

I’ve cooked in this pan almost daily for 4 months and like it. It heats up quickly and holds the heat. I tested the power and measured 1.4 kW when cycled on [11.7 amps]. The thermostat seems OK for accuracy. This pan gets hot enough for deep frying objects less than 1 inch in thickness. Perfect for deep frying schnitzel/cutlets/tonkatsu pork. The stainless surface cleans reasonably well with a typical foam pot scrubber with foam on 1 side and an abrasive side on the other. Some gentle soaking and the abrasive scrubber gets it clean.

The electrical chord shorted out at 11 months. The intense smell of burning plastic whenever the fry pan turns on. The company did not return repeated questions about how to replace/fix or remedy the situation.
