Check Connections and Connectivity before installing
I’m using this as a replacement for the current unit which I bought on Amazon 5 years ago, which is still working fine and has thus far lasted longer than the OEM part. I’m swapping it out while I’m rebuilding the dryer rollers and drum belt, a kit also on Amazon. You could buy the heater coil, the bad component in my case, for less on the old unit but it is much easier and less time-consuming to install the complete unit.So, if you are buying this I assume you are a DIYer and will check this unit out before installing. When I was checking it out, I found one of the spade female spade connectors was loose enough that it would easily fall off and would be a hazard arcing and creating a hotspot while current is flowing through it in an environment vibrating and collecting dust. So no big deal to fix, I crimped the connector so it makes a positive and secure connection, but a big deal for the quality of the product – I deducted a star because quality control should have easily caught this and it is not a thing you want to install and have to fix again.The unit itself is a basic folded sheet metal and looks as good as if not better than the OEM one. It’s about 20% more than the one I bought 5 years ago but inflation in the last 2 years probably accounts for that. I also checked the resistance of the coils and everything looks good to install, so I’ll update the review down the road if it does not perform as expected and comment on longevity.Update: I have installed using the original wires because of the connections on this product are not that tight. So far the dryer has been running great and drying as it should for multiple laundry runs.

Big and Heavy
Working on an old dryer and decided since I was in there opening everything up it was best to just replace the entire heating assembly. This thing is big and heavy, like 4 pounds. Pulled everything apart because it wasn’t heating. Not too difficult to get everything apart, but I do recommend a shop vac, because mine was loaded with things that make you sneeze. Some people say these low priced sensors don’t last, but so far everything seems to be working. I’ve found over the years that it is the heat limit switches that go bad first before the thermostat. Kind of funny that heat kills them over time when they are designed to deal with the heat. I know you can use a multimeter to test them, but I don’t think it worth the hassle for low cost parts. Just replace them.
