    Essential For a Beginner
I felt the information to be concise and relevant to becoming a proficient drone/uav operator. As a photographer, I value the importance of becoming a good pilot before attempting to apply my photographic skills in an aerial environment. No one wants to be subjected to hard lessons. Last year I purchased an inexpensive Hubsan X4 and crashed it on my fourth airborne attempt. I’ve since purchased replacement parts to repair it but have yet to do so. I recently purchased a Yuneec Typhoon H and plan to log several simulator hours before going into the field. I want the confidence and proficiency to be there to circumvent any accidents to my new $2000+ (including accessories) flying machine. In the meantime I will repair my crippled X4.Having read two other book’s related to learning about drones, I found them to be abbreviated information at best, (no substance). Ben Rupert brought some things to light in this book that I hadn’t considered however, he referenced some accompanying photos and links that weren’t viewable in my Kindle edition, but I won’t let those omissions detract from my five star rating. Good luck to all new and established drone/uav pilots.

    Start here
Thinking about getting a drone and know nothing about drones, start here! Gives a good rundown about how they work, how to fly them, what to get, etc. Book talks a lot about aerial photography and that should be very helpful if that is your prime interest. I especially liked the “Check list” or “Preflight” part. In summary, it is a quick read and will give you all of the basics to get you going in the right direction and save you some money and grief in choosing, buying, and operating your first drone. I would have given this book 5+ stars except that a lot of the pictures and links did not appear on my Kindle, but still well worth the price and time to read.

Ultimate what? Promising, but incomplete draft…
While this book has some valuable information, the content varies from dated to current. To me, it reads like it was transcribed from a web page that was only partially updated. There are a number of references to drawings, diagrams and links that are simply not included in the printed copy – thereby leaving the reader at dead ends as to the content or information the writer was originally intending to convey.Although the title implies the ultimate: the full compendium on drone lore, legend and how to, it’s actually a short volume in need of substantial editing.I found it disappointing, considering its promising title and cost, although the modest content is well-written and useful for a budding drone enthusiast. Without the cover, it would give the impression of an initial, promising draft. Given that, this material could be expanded, completed and updated – given the author’s expertise and writing skills – and a future edition COULD be the ultimate drone guide. The current edition? Not so much in the ultimate department.

Valuable tips and guides about the idea of drone and radio controller device system.
Valuable book for a drone lover as it described everything a beginner need to know about drone including hoe to control them or how to fly them as well as how to build one from scratch. I have also found details instruction about how the radio controller actually works which makes this book very interesting and very much practical to follow. I would suggest to read this book to any drone lover who is engaging with drone just now or also for advanced drone users. I have purchased this book from my younger brother who loves the idea of drone and have been using one for a month. Very much appreciated.

    Some of it was good.
This book was “ok”… based on it’s inexpensive price…. It definitely covered a lot of VOCABULARY.However it was oddly written in that it spent extra time talking about some topics NOT necessarily important to beginners (like a whole chapter on BUILDING your own drone… and the chapter is not detail enough to ACTUALLY use it to build a drone… it just talks ABOUT building a drone.)….At the same time it could have focused more on other details such as the importance of maintaining the CORRECT amount of charge in your batteries during storage… And I would have liked to hear MORE about the AUTHOR’S personal experience flying his drone and maybe share some insight about what OTHER people have experienced with their drones… how do people REACT to his drone in flight?… any specific cautionary tails about Drone-gone-wrong flights???

This book is badly organised throughout and the majority has just been cut and pasted from the authors own website and others, not in the best of orders either and flits back and forth Starts off with references to the “modern day of 2014/5” then ends with current day, 2017. Chapter references to videos (which you obviously cannot view in a book) prove that this book forms sections of websites just dropped into paper print. Seriously, save your cash, do your research online, join a forum and put the money towards something better
