Great fan but not an air conditioner (it’s an air cooler)
Before I purchased this fan I read a lot of the reviews and decided to give it a try as I own another fan by the same company and figured I would do a comparison. First,it is not an air conditioner unit it is an air cooler. The big question ,does it work. Short answer, yes. When I placed ice cold water along with the included ice packs(which aren’t bad but there are better options) and lots of ice in the tank, the fan blew colder air than my other fan(which is just a fancy fan). The recommended use is in addition to an open windows or account vent but I’ve noticed that either way it still works as advertised. There are lower cost alternatives but this fan works. The only negatives are it’s not wifi connected like my other fan and the hassle of refilling the tank. When refilling I just leave everything connected and pour everything in ,as disconnecting and reconnecting the hose is a pain.

Efficiency in mobile home depends on outside temps
It is not necessary to run the fan on the number four setting to be cooler. I found that running it on the number three setting is actually the coolest for me. It’s quiet, the remote is small and works well, but wish buttons were lit, and assembly was pretty simple. It is mid-afternoon in Southern California and 94° in the shade. The unit is about 9 feet from me and the temp in the den is 75°. The den is open, not closed off by a wall, in a 1600sqft mobile home and is normally 79-80° prior to receiving the evaporative cooler. The rest of the home is 79°, or a little less,(keeping our electric company happy), and older mobile homes are difficult to cool. On 103° days it does not reach 75° in the den with the evaporative cooler, maybe 78°, but as it cools down outside, the temperature in the den will go to 77° after I add a little more ice to the bin. In a home with good insulation I think it would work well, especially if it’s in a closed off room. My goal was just to be comfortable in the den with the evaporative cooler and I’ve reached that goal. It’s quite nice to be sitting in 77-78° instead of 80°! Those 2-3° do make a difference. I don’t use the included ice packs. I just add ice and water as needed, probably twice a day. Don’t let your room get too hot before you turn your evaporative cooler on because it takes longer to cool off a hot room. I’m happy with the cooler. I’d buy another one if my ice maker could keep up with it. Lol! Good luck with yours!

Works well in very hot temperatures
I purchased this water cooled fan for my screened in patio, which always seems warmer than my yard (perhaps the aluminum roof thermally conducts the suns heat into the patio). It works well and cools the patio to a bearable temperature (I’m in Eastern Washington which is hot and semi-arid). I like the rotation and speed controls. The only downside is that to fill the water reservoir you pull out it out of the bottom of the fan unit, but you’re limited in how far you can pull it out if you don’t want to remove the pump and assorted lines, which are a pain to put back in place. The photo shows how far you can pull the reservoir out without disconnecting the lines.

    Perfect!
This is my second cooler. This is perfect for keeping my bedroom cool, although air conditioning works fine I do not have central air so that nice cool air has trouble getting into the bedroom, even using fans to push the cooler air. I bought a second one because I’m so impressed with my first! They work great, just keep ice, water going — which last for a good while and you’re good to go. I highly recommend! Its a life saver for me!

Works, does not cool for very long
I’m an IT professional who works from home. My office is about 12’x14′, I have several computers, monitors and printers. The average temp in my office, in the summer, is about 83F. I have central air, but I don’t get a lot of air flow on the second floor, I keep it set to 76. I have crank windows so a small AC unit is not really feasible. The unit is well built and went together very easily. I’ve used it for a few days now, the ice packs will last about 3-4 hours during which time the temp in my office will get down to 76-78F. Once they melt, it’s not much more than a fan blowing humid air. Even on the highest speed, the fan is pretty quiet, it raised the ambient sound level in my office from about 45 to 60 decibels. The oscillating feature is nice, it easily moved the air around my office. This is the first time I’ve ever used one of these coolers so I didn’t know what to expect. It’s kind of a hassle having to top off the reservoir with water and re-freeze the packs every night, possible a second or third set of ice packs might help get me through the day, but I don’t have time to stop and mess with it. If I got more than a few hours of cooling out of it I wouldn’t mind so much, but as it is, this one is being returned.

    Love this fan! Cooling!
My office is really hot so this fan is really useful. Even without the AC it really cools it down. The oscillation really works well for a room. The remote control is great. I never have to get up. Good value for money and doesn’t take up too much space in a room.It uses water to cool the room down if you like.Love it

    Broken within 6 months
No longer cools the air, just acts like a fan. Disappointing. Not worth the money. Filter doesn’t seem to be replaceable, so whole design is only to last 6 months.I wouldn’t buy again unless you enjoy breathing in mold spores.

    Really good fan
Blows a nice strong breeze. Oscillates well, fairly quiet. I like that I can add water and two freezer things come with it. The breeze can be nice and cool with that. Holds a lot of water, probably a gallon. All I had to do was take it out of the box and assemble the base which was 2 pieces, then thread the wire and plug through (easy) the channels in the base. Then just turn it on. Comes with a remote!
