Makes freshly ground coffee for a few or a group. A do it all coffee maker w/ nice stainless carafe
I have never bought a refurbished product before, but this purchase was at a good savings. Also, the carafe is metal & insulated and not always available. The only thing not included was the gold reusable filter, which they informed me about in packaging. It makes 4 cups or 10 and the coffee stays warm in carafe without sitting on a warmer base usually required with a glass carafe. I love being able to grind the whole beans when make fresh pot. You can also just use pre-ground coffee. My only surprise was that the coffee grinder is loud, but it turns off automatically then it flows to the filter area for brewing. Now I can have just one coffee pot for a small amount or for extra people, when needed. Having freshly ground coffee is a real treat. Very durable. I am pleased.

Well over a year old and working great.

nice machine but doesn’t make great coffee
The grind and brew operation is nice but noisy. If you program it to grind and brew early in the morning, you may wake up everyone in the house. There’s a grind off button to brew pre-ground coffee. Not sure how some coffeemakers pour hot water over coffee grinds and make great coffee and some don’t but this one isn’t great.

makes a very good coffee.
I purchased this product at the request of my daughter. I had low expectations. It turns out that I really like the product and the coffee it brews. Clean up is a bit of a chore however the coffee flavor and thermal carafe make it worthwhile . I recommend this seller and this product.

Good coffee maker but not very sturdy
First off, I bought this one refurbished. So keep that in mind when reading this. Got it for a great price. Unfortunately, it did not stand up to the test very well. Less than a year and it completely burned out. First the grinder turned on and would not turn off….then the whole unit stopped working. Thought about buying again, but a little nervous to buy this brand again. Decided to go with a different brand. However, when it worked, I loved this coffee maker. Set it up and program for in the morning. Wake up to a great cup of coffee. Another good selling point is that it will hold a charcoal filter which will make the water you use taste a lot better. Coffee pot needs to be cleaned out after each use. The chute tends to hold moisture and clog up if you don’t clean it regularly. With the few choices available for coffee makers with built in grinders….this is a cheaper avenue to see if you like them.

Poor design, do not buy
The built-in grinder is not the convenience you’d think it would be. Not all the ground coffee is transferred to the brewing basket each time it grinds; then, as it brews, the steam goes into the grinder making coffee mud that has to be cleaned out each time. I have to add two extra scoops of beans to account for the waste to make a decent cup of coffee. Inefficient, wasteful. Look for a different design if you want a built-in grinder or spend less on a conventional set up.

The grinder is too small.
I can’t get a full pot using coffee beans. I still use ground coffee for my breakfast cups of coffee. My purpose of this item was to get a fresh cup coffee with yummy beans. The grinding feature is great for non coffee addicts but it’s not worth the added expense for us coffee drinkers

Such a great coffee maker
I got my mom one of these, and she loved it so much that I bought myself the refurbished model. My mom sets hers up each night and uses the programmable timer so she can wake up and immediately drink freshly-ground, freshly-brewed coffee. The programmable function is really great.I love everything about this coffee maker — the built in grinder, the timer, the water filters, the thermal carafe. I don’t often use the programmable function because I like extra-hot coffee, so I pre-heat the carafe with boiling water and dump it out before I brew a pot of coffee. Yes, you do have to rinse out a bunch of stuff (including the grinder) after each use, but it only takes a few seconds. The only downside is that the refurbished model doesn’t come with a goldtone removable filter basket, but I use paper filters anyway so it’s fine. Thank you, Cuisinart, for helping meet my coffee needs every morning.
