It is worth every penny if you like coffee.
This coffee maker makes anywhere from 5 ounces to 25 ounces. I typically make 14 ounces at a time. It is fast, easy to load, easy to clean and the coffee tastes wonderful. I prefer not using the permanent filter and use an unbleached #4 filter. It makes coffee very quickly with no waste. It is a great value. They lowered the price after my order but I am not complaining. It also take up less counter space than my 20 year old Zogurishi coffee maker which swas full size. Itwas a good coffee maker in the day but finally stopped working after 20 years. I now prefer to make one cup at a time of 14 ounces. I have only had the Cusinart for a week, but I am glad I chose it as a replacement for my old coffee maker.

Very Happy.
I used the Black & Decker Brew and Go for years, the first one lasted 8 years, the second 5, the third 3, and so on until it was discontinued. It made a great cup of coffee. I tried the Hamilton Beach Single, but I couldn’t get the coffee strong enough, and then the Capresso Single Serve, which is a really well-made machine, but I don’t like a basket filter, it tastes a little bitter to me, I much prefer a cone shape, but I haven’t been able to find a single serve that had a cone filter like the B&D had.So, I decided to try a small coffee pot, researched a few, and started with the Krups, which I liked very much for its small footprint, cone filter, ease of operation, and it made a very smooth cup of coffee. However, it was not hot enough. So, I tried this one and was pleased to find the coffee is much hotter and this also has auto shut off (Krups does not). I did a temperature test while the coffee was in the pot and the Krups read 166 degrees, the Capresso Single Serve was 179, and this was right around 180. The water tank is a bit fidgety, but I just pour water into it versus removing it every time and I like that I can clean it so much easier than other machines. I didn’t bother with the filter since I use filtered water, but I read it can help with how often you need to decalcify, so I may give it a shot, and I also purchased a Delibru gold tone permanent filter, because I would rather my coffee was not filtered through plastic. I didn’t notice any plastic taste, but I did run 3 pots of water through it before I made the first pot. I found the coffee very smooth and was able to make it as strong as I like. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase.

Makes a respectable cup BUT pay attention to actual water volume being not accrate
This is actually a pretty darn good little coffee maker. Definitely NOT in the same league as my larger machines (Breville Precision Brew, OXO 12 Cup and OXO 9 Cup) but it can hold it’s own.Important thing I noticed is first time trying it coffee was weak, and sour. So after a little experimenting I found out the level markings on the water tank are quite a bit off for a 5oz cup of coffee. After calibrating by weighing the water on a precision coffee scale, then pouring that into the water reservoir I found a “true” 15oz of water (3 cups) actually showed 2.75 on the removable water reservoir. Enough to mess up the ratio when using the 8 grams per 5 oz water formula. Once knowing that it makes a respectable cup.I am disappointed it’s a heated carafe not a dual wall thermal type. But, heck, this is meant to be something wife and I can bring to our hotel room and get a reasonably good cup rather than drinking hotel room coffee or restaurant coffee (which I always find insipid, burnt tasting, weak and sour). I can’t abide bad coffee!Bottom line for a little quick cup or 2, or a little unit you can pack in a suitcase it’s perfect

Worth the money, great size, love the filter feature
The size is perfect for me and a perfect size for my small kitchen. I love the water tank as you can see through it and it seems easy to clean. The carafe has a good opening, easy to clean! I like the built in filter feature, but the filter housing is a bit flimsy and i broke the top trying to open it to put the filter in. It works just the same, but its a bit of a let down that my new coffee maker already has a broken part. I looked to see if I could replace it on Amazon, but I havent quite found the right thing. Otherwise, well worth the money!

Just ok
Im disappointed in this coffee maker. It drips when you pour the coffee – I have tried all kinds of different ways to pour the coffee and no matter what I do ,it drips! I have tried making sure the lid is firmly on the carafe , nothing seems to make a difference.I switched from pods to brewing with this little coffee maker, so was surprised how spoiled I was at how long it takes to brew the coffee. Also. I had hoped the metal carafe could be removed and used keep the coffee warm – it is pretty thin walled , so it does not work as a thermal carafe. It works, but could be so much better . Does not live up to it’s name….

Hot Coffee!
If you’re like me and want your coffee hot, this is the coffee maker for you! This is the first small coffee maker that actually gives me HOT coffee. I love it. I’ve had it close to a year now and have had no problems at all. I also like that the automatic shut-off works! If anything, I might want it to stay on just a little longer. Still better than previous coffee makers that burned up the bottom of the carafe before turning off.I don’t understand the reviews that talk about having problems putting the cover on the water container and fishing around to find it. Why??? You just set the cover on top of the container – that’s it!I don’t notice if there’s any bothersome noise, I’m too busy getting ready for work. Taste is good, water flow is very good, rarely notice any coffee grounds. It’s not easy to find a 5-cup coffee maker that is this quality.

Good value, good coffee.
Bought to replace VERY old unit of earlier design. Works great, like the auto shutoff feature. I use paper filters, i find the included metal mesh filter lets silt through, settling in cup. Overall a good machine for a good price.

Third day with this machine and it’s great. I like being able to take the water reservoir off and rinse it — as opposed to machines where it cannot be removed and thus may be growing all kinds of things unless you’re diligent enough to do the vinegar rinse periodically. Perfect for one person — it brews about 2 medium sized mugs. And the coffee comes out HOT. It replaces a 10-cup machine that I never used to the max and that has who knows what swimming in the reservoir. Nothin negative to say, just a great compact machine for 1 or 2 people.

I’ve mostly ever used Keurig coffee makers, but I find they are not worth what I pay for them. I switched to a simple Mr. Coffee unit and it tasted horrible, no matter how often I rinsed it, ran vinegar through it, multiple cups of coffee.. there was always just a plastic-y strange taste. Found this little Cuisinart guy and I love it. It’s just simple, easy to clean, easy to prepare. A bit pricey, but I expect great things from this brand. My first cup this morning was delicious and I hope it lasts. The pot isn’t thermal but I love the steel because it will get banged around in the sink while doing dishes, I’m sure. I’ve never had issues with this brand so far! (I do want to add that the water filter insert seems completely pointless as there is a gap between the filter and where the water goes into the machine, so unfiltered water would go in?)

I like that it is easy to use. Great for one or two people. The metal carafe is attractive and break proof. Theplastic filter works well with medium or coarse grind. The only drawback is that the coffee does not stay hot enough.

Downsizing is a bit of a struggle and I needed something smaller than the regular coffee maker I had, so I ordered this one. Cuisinart doesn’t disappoint. It brews fast, hot, and tasteful. The removeable reservoir is great and you dont have to struggle to add water. Getting used to the metal coffee pot.
