Nice roasting pan. Metal rack is perfect for large Pyrex glass baking pan (3 quart).
I got this for the metal rack, which is the perfect size for my large Pyrex glass baking pan (3 quart).The metal pan is nice, too, but I got it to have a raised metal rack for my large Pyrex glass baking pan.The sides of the Pyrex glass baking pan are sloped, so the bottom is smaller, hence the need for this size of metal rack, which nobody makes other than this one as part of a rack and pan set.I tried other “cookie racks”, but they were too large–even at 11″ x 8″–or they were too small. I have smaller metal racks for my 2-quart Pyrex glass baking pans, and they are nice but are too small for the larger 3-quart Pyrex glass baking pan.This metal rack fits nicely in the bottom of my large 3-quart Pyrex glass baking pan.I use it for fried chicken, where I fry the chicken in a cast iron skillet for 3 minutes on each side to crisp it and then switch to baking for an hour to cook the now crispy fried chicken. This ensures a golden brown outside without over browning. If you don’t tell anyone about the technique, then they think it’s all fried. This way you get the crispy outer crust from frying without overdoing it, since you finish with baking at 300-degrees to 325-degrees Fahrenheit for an hour or so, depending on how much chicken and the size of the pieces–if large thighs cook longer, but drumsticks not so long. The result is perfect fried chicken. The metal rack ensures it’s crisp and cooked evenly top and bottom.

QUIET WELL-MADE BUT TOOOOOOOO SHALLOW.
Like all things Cuisinart, it is very well-made. I’m happy with the quality. I wish they had made it a little deeper. Like, if you want to cook something on it that will have a lot of liquid cook out of it, you have to really watch it so that it doesn’t overflow. Even given the fact that it is made for a tiny oven (which is why I bought it in the first place), it still could have been made a bit deeper and still been within reason for a tiny oven. But, aside from that, I’m quite happy with it. I used it for the first time last night. I had cooked 12 chicken legs in my crockpot (and a lot of liquid cooked out — which is the only reason I was able to use this new pan) — then transferred them to this new pan to top them with BBQ sauce and brown them in the oven. The 10 legs BARELY fit. And even with all of the liquid that had cooked out of them in the crockpot, I was still a bit apprehensive becs of how shallow this pan is. Honestly, the only downside to this pan at all is just the fact that it is SO VERY shallow. Were it just an inch deeper, I’d give it 20 stars.

Used to buy these at Bed Bath and Beyond
They last a few years and fit in my table top oven. Pretty good quality and weight and you can fit most good size pieces of meat on it. Since BB&B is gone, once this one starts looking pretty bad I will likely buy another one here.

Small and shallow
I bought this thinking that it would be nearly as wide as the racks in our Cuisinart convection toaster oven. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Additionally, it is extremely shallow. The quality of the rack and the pan are good. However, its use is unfortunately very limited. Purposely took the photo with my reading glasses and a pen so that the dimensions could be visually better understood.
