Very quiet and moves plenty of air
I’m using these to cool a WiFi Router. They are absolutely perfect for the job. The router is a DLink DIR760L which is cylindrical. The fans match the router very nicely. I’ve put the router on its side, and use the fans to push air in one end and pull it from the other. The CPU temp has dropped over 20 degrees C. Noise is negligible. A key consideration was for the fans to be USB powered. There’s a USB port on the router, so I don’t have to external power supply.I’m going to buy a couple more of these for other installations. At first I just stood the fans at each end and everything sat on a wooden shelf. But there was vibration that got transmitted to and amplified by the shelf. Resting everything on a thick sock eliminated the noise. Then I decided to cut the toe from the sock, slip it over the router, cut a slit for the cables, and let the elastic from the sock ends hold the fans in place. It’s out of sight so appearance doesn’t matter, and everything is working great.

Great for managing home theater center’s heat
I’ve been using these fans for years in my home theater setup. I bought them when I noticed my Xbox was generating enough heat that the top of my entertainment center was extremely warm from the Xbox, which was in the first cubby directly below it. I bought these and initially just set them up standing on either side of the Xbox, one pulling air in and the other pushing it out, creating a circulatory airflow. It worked great, and after a few weeks, I was satisfied enough with their performance that I cut out a couple of holes in the back of the entertainment center and mounted them to the back. You could definitely feel the heat in the air these were pushing out, but the temperature difference around my Xbox was a major improvement. Plus, these things are super quiet! If you were in the room with no ambient noise and you really focused on them, you might be able to hear them… maybe. Even right next to them, they’re practically running at a whisper as far as noise level goes.We eventually got a new entertainment center cabinet, and I relocated my Xbox to my man cave, but the new cabinet was fully enclosed, and I was sure that the lack of air circulation would not work for our receiver, so once again, I got my hole saw out and cut a couple of holes in the back of the cabinet, directly behind the receiver. For power, I just borrowed one of the eleventy-billion USB power cubes that seems to be multiplying around the house and let them run 24/7. I suppose I could use a thermostatically controlled power supply or something, but I haven’t gotten around to it.Now here’s the kicker and the reason why I would buy these again without a second thought: I’ve been using these fans for probably 8 years now. Remember how I said I didn’t have them thermostatically controlled? They’ve been going practically all day every day over that time. No noise, no slowing down, no problems at all, and all for less than $15. If they up and died on me tomorrow, I’d be on Amazon ordering up the exact same fans to replace them, I’m that happy with them. Outstanding value and performance like this is hard to beat.

Good Base for Small DIY Projects
There are already a lot of reviews that cover most everything, however for those who may be more of the hardware hacking variety, this review is for you. First, these two fans feature a very nice dual ball bearing design. Due to this and the RPM speed, they run silently (meaning as silent as fans go). A bonus feature is that you can mount the fans in either a vertical or horizontal position. Although as the specs show, these are not powerhouse designs and work best at removing ambient heat from a closed/relatively-closed space. I had plans to use these fans as part of a custom box that houses various PCB boards. One was going to be used as an exhaust fan on the top of the box, with another providing airflow over a group of heatsinks using negative pressure below that. I found that they work best as exhaust fans though, so my plans changed in that one is seated on top and the other is providing exhaust based cooling to the lowest cage, which houses the custom PSU. The heatsinks do a good job on their own, however as I’m using custom chips and their layout may change, I want to avoid removing them to place a generic liquid-cooling block on top and instead find a fan-based solution for actively cooling the passive components. Also as one would expect, the fans run at one default speed. I tried adjusting the power to the USB output, however instead of slowing down, at ~4v the fans just shut off. I ended up removing the USB lead and plugged the fans into two different sockets that were already connected to temperature probes in the desired areas with a control board to handle it all automatically. Currently the fans run independently at either 0v (off), 1.5v (low), 2.5v (medium) or 3.5v (high), all with the default amps. The fans should run fine at 5v each (aka double the default power), however as they are currently either off or running at 3v – 4v combined, I have decided to not push it and end up with 1 or 2 fried fans.

Better than expected. Solved problem immediately.
Exactly what I needed. I bought a new wood entertainment center with slots for dvd, amp, ps4 etc… that are pretty normal in size. I noticed about a couple of hours in while playing my PS4 that it was running all the fans, even the auxilliary fans in high mode. The noise was not normal since I’ve had my PS4 for over a year and never heard them kick on like that before. I could tell the unit was hot to the touch as well so it obviously was not getting the proper ventilation it required now that it was in this new cabinet. The fans are perfect for this and solved the problem immediately. I placed one fan on each side of the slot in the entertainment center where the PS4 sits. I used one as and intake and the other as an exhaust to circulate fresh cool air in and push it out the other side. No more extra heat. No more fans running on high. Also these things are virtually dead silent unless you have your head right up to them. Very simple, cheap, and effective. No additional power supply required, no funky wiring, just plug it into the PS4 USB port and tuck the wires aside. love it!

Ordered these fans to cool down an overheating Xbox One X. The Xbox is in the bottom of a closed in TV unit and the Xbox fans were blowing on full power almost all the time, especially with certain games (No Mans Sky in particular). Plugged these fans into spare USB port in back of Xbox and put fans on top, facing front. WOW! what a difference. The Xbox fans are now silent. The cooling fans themselves are very quiet, and although they don’t look much when you unpack them they are very effective.

I got these a year ago, they have been running continuously over that time, no problems still working perfectly and still very quiet

montate su un modem router tim, funzionano bene e sono silenzioze e spostano una buona quantità di aria quindi per il momento fanno bene il loro lavoro speriamo che la durata sia altrettanto buona spedizione e imballo tutto ok
