Reliable and Affordable Basic Calculator
The Casio SL-300SV is a solid, no-frills calculator that gets the job done. It’s compact, lightweight, and easy to carry around, making it great for quick calculations at work or on the go. The dual power (solar with battery backup) ensures it works even in low-light conditions, which is a nice feature. The buttons are responsive, though they feel a bit small if you have larger hands. The display is clear, but the viewing angle isn’t the best—you may need to tilt it slightly for better visibility. It’s perfect for basic math, but if you need advanced functions, you’ll need a more specialized calculator.Overall, it’s a good value for the price, especially if you need a simple, reliable calculator for everyday use.

A Classic Casio!
What can I say more than it’s truly a classic?!Seriously this calculator I’ve used the same model decades ago when my dad carried one with him and I needed some help with school work in elementary school (I’m getting close to 40 now). So when I seen this was the exact one I remembered, of course I had to get it.Casio makes great watches but they excelled at making great calculators. This is an easy to use, basic small portable calculator that can easily be pocketed or stored away. The buttons are plastic but feel right and has that classic look that never changed with the silver aesthetic. And it has a nice “CASIO” embossed vinyl cover which can be affixed to the calculator permanently allowing you to keep it secure while on your pocket and not be accidentally turning it on and running the battery down, but also to keep it looking great for years to come. It’s dual powered so there is a solar panel so it’ll work even on a dead battery as long as it around a light source. But the fact it does have a battery means even in low light conditions you can still use it no issues. The display is only 8 digits but for basic computing, it’s all you really need. This design by Casio has truly tested the sands of time and to see to this day they are still selling the exact same model goes to show that if isn’t broke, don’t fix it.If your looking for a classic calculator that won’t let ya down while also being extremely affordable, look no further than this recommendation of a calculator!

Always turns on
I still use this occasionally. It’s always ready each and every time I’ve turned it on since I bought it 10 years ago. The solar power really helps. I’ve never had to change the battery. Easy to use. The screen is large enough to see without glasses on. Buttons are nice sized so I don’t fat finger and press the wrong ones. I like the mechanical feeling of buttons/keys. I don’t care for flat electronic buttons (like smartphones have these days). It’s a basic, but nice calculator. Happy with my purchase.

Compact but full-functional
I am a frequent traveler who always works on the road. I need a good but compact calculator to help with my work. I like the simplicity of the calculator, but wish the keyboard can be larger. Overall, it is still a good calculator for traveling.

Fast, legible, solidly built
Casio makes quality products, even everyday gadgets like hand-held calculators. This is not a dollar store piece of junk. It feels good in the hand, the keys have a solid tactile feel, and the display is crisp, clear, and large. If you have occasional – or frequent – need for a calculator, you could do a lot worse than this one.

All pluses: easy to read, good value, and easy to use
This Casio is perfect, in my opinion: easy to read, easy to use, and a good price. I’ve bought a similar Casio calculator in the past and it lasted about 5 years. For the price, that’s good enough for me.

Solid basic function calculator
Bought this for an exam that does not allow programmable calculators. Not expecting a lot, but it’s actually quite nice. The LCD display is big and clear. The buttons have a nice feel when pressed and are laid out logically. It seems to be brushed aluminum on top which gives it a nicer look than plastic. It even came with a little bi-fold dust jacket thingy I was not expecting. As low-end calculators go, this is a keeper.

This is a good all round calculator which does what it says on the pack. It seems to be pretty well made and is functional and practical to use. It is ideal to uses for travels etc and can fit easily in your pocket.

When I bought this in August of 2014, it was much cheaper. But honestly, I would still buy it again at this price because it is reliable and works perfectly. I’ve used this for many of my university exams and it has always worked fine! The program I’m in restricts us on the type of calculators we use, so no scientific, smaller than the size of your hand etc… so this calculator was perfect for me. I’m also paranoid that solar powered or battery powered calculators will die on me during an exam, so I love the dual power on this thing.
