It works. That’s actually kind of a big deal.
I use this printer pretty much just for my kids to print school stuff, or for shipping labels, or occasionally for fun little stuff that I want to do. I haven’t really used it for photos too much, so I can’t vouch for amazing photo quality or anything. What I can say is that this printer works when I need it to, no matter what kind of paper I use, and it’s great on ink. It’s a million times more reliable than the previous brand that I had, and far less expensive. It’s like my little buddy now that I know I can rely on. Set up is super simple. After that, click and go. Definitely recommend this for ease of use and reliability in a home printer.

    Great Printer…Great Price!
After upgrading my computer I found my Pixma 2820 was no longer supported so I upgraded to this model. It took a few minutes to find the online manual but setup via the USB option was pretty easy. A USB cable was NOT included, but the one from my older model worked perfectly. I work with graphics, so print quality is pretty important to me and this printer does a great job for printouts that are crisp, clean and color accurate to my original digitally rendered images. I didn’t need a new scanner, but since this printer comes with one, it will now replace my Canon LiDE 120. The printer’s scanner function interface is identical to my older scanner so I was scanning documents and photos in a matter of minutes without help. I like the fact that this printer does not have too many “bells and whistles” function buttons…doesn’t take up too much real estate in my office…has a clean profile and ink cartridges are easy to find both locally and online. I did not opt for the ink replacement services. After reading some of the reviews here, I was expecting this machine to be slower and noisier than my older model but found the opposite to be true. Great little printer at a great price!

    Piece of junk
This is the worst printer I have ever owned, including ones I owned two decades ago. You’d think that printer technology would have improved over time, but no. This thing is crap. We’ve owned it a few years and I’ve finally gotten so frustrated that I needed to write a review to save other people the time and money I’ve wasted on this thing. It takes AGES to do anything — like literally upwards of 10-15 minutes to print a simple page of B&W text. I have been waiting for it to turn off for the last 20 minutes now. And I only had to turn it off in the first place because when I tried to print a second page, it told me the printer was “busy” for over 5 minutes so I tried to turn it off to reset it and it couldn’t even do that! I’ve tried different devices, placing the devices closer or farther from the printer, made sure wifi signal was VERY strong, everything. This printer just sucks. The print quality is also just average (and below average for images) so it’s not like the time is worth it. Save yourself the time and money and do not buy this printer!

    So Far, So Good
We’ve only had it for a few days but so far it is working great. Better than all the other brands that keep breaking after a month and will no longer print after buying new ink over and over. Hopefully it will last awhile. Also, no problems setting up to WiFi. Prints CLEARLY and dark. Great looking documents. Finally!

    Ease of use
Small and compact and like my previous Canon printer it seems to be similar to operate. It has worked well for over a year but I do NOT use it much. For an inexpensive home printer, with minimal use I would recommend.

Does the job once you realize how to correctly feed paper
It works only once you realize how to correctly feed paper, which is nowhere indicated clearly in the instructions (there are basically no instructions). You need to expand the front of the paper tray just enough out of the machine that the paper stack is not all jammed up under the feeder, otherwise the whole paper stack is sucked in all at once instead of one page at a time. Once I fiddled enough with it, I realized the extender at the front of the paper tray is supposed to stick out a bit from the front of the machine for it to work properly… Note that it is also super slow to both get ready and to shut down – it is doing a bunch of operations and noise at the same time – just be patient and it’ll eventually get there. It feels like it needs several minutes to get ready every time. Ok for a home printer. Print quality is good so far, as long as you get these details right. Not enough experience so far to determine how quickly it consumes ink.

    I was weary…
I purchased this Canon printer after returning an HP 6455 Envy, three weeks before. Based on the mixed reviews on this (and truly, all) printer, I was a little weary. But it turned out perfect! It was so easy to connect to wifi, setup the app on our phones, and to use. I’m a millennial whom is not tech-savvy. I need to press buttons to feel confident, and this printer gives me that!
