Reliable workhorse
I have a small office that relies on fail-safe printing, scanning, and copying. For years I have chucked out HP, Epson, and other printers because they were unreliable, frequently had software issues, and hardware failures. I took great pleasure in taking them to the dumps and throwing them into the detritus. This Canon is the exception. I have had it for about nine months, and it performs wonderfully. I recently had to print out a complex project involving 2,000+ pages. There were no printer errors, and the final product was outstanding. A couple of times the printer notified me that it needed ink. The process for filling the tanks was easy and straightforward. Scanning was sometimes interrupted because the documents being scanned were irregular or bent. It was easy to clear the documents and re-scan. My only complaint is that the instruction window is a bit small, but it’s a vast improvement over previous models. The cost to keep this machine in ink is low, and the printer is frugal in its ink usage. My experience with this printer has been refreshingly positive. I rarely give product reviews, but my experience with this printerhas been outstanding.

Prints High Quality Photos and documents
I love this printer! I never write reviews, but I made an exception for this Canon Maxify GX4020 printer. I print hundreds of copies for my work with preschool children and to illustrate the songs I teach to Primary children. This printer prints beautiful pages on multiple types of paper; super quickly and high quality. Set up was easy and any glitches with wireless printing or finding any unusual settings were quickly solved. The touch screen is small but works very well. Canon updates the software often and when I experienced a printing “error” message, I clicked on the link which took me to the online owners manual solving the problem easily! Filling the ink tanks was easy and is definitely more economical than replacing ink cartridges. The rear tray and output paper tray are sturdy. It also has scanner and fax capabilities! this is a wonderful all-in-one machine!

A great upgrade to our printer!
We previously had a HP printer that was having odd issues that no one seemed to be able to fix. So, we began researching new printers. What a daunting task! There are so many various kinds out there. After reading multiple articles and talking to some friends, I knew we wanted a tank one. You get so much more out of the ink that way. After that, we researched what all we were going to use it for and landed on this guy. While I hate to spend money, even when I need to, this was well worth it. We have had it up and running for about 1.5 months so far. Not a single paper jam, prints my cardstock just fine and scans effortlessly. I thought it had a special third paper area in the far back, but have not seen anything to that as of yet. It is fairly easy to setup and navigate. I was printing within an hour of opening the box. Their customer service people were helpful. My only real complaint is that it does not come with a physical manual. I get that everything is online now, but there is something to be said about having the manual to reference, especially with products such as this. As of now I am happy with the purchase.

RIP OFF!
I ordered and received a lovely, pristine printer, unpacked it, plugged it in, and nothing happened. I called a local computer tech that I have a lot of faith in, and he said that it happens sometimes, that Amazon is really good about returns. So I packed it back up in the original box and UPS picked it up the following day. It took a long time to arrive and be acknowledged as returned, and when I finally saw that a refund had been issued on a roughly $350 printer, I looked at my bank balance, which had been refunded $52! That’s fifty two dollars for an item that didn’t work when I got it, and was returned well within the return window. I’ve never had any trouble with purchases or the rare returns I’ve made before, but I sure got taken to the cleaners on this one!

Wakes Up when Sleeping…ink/head design is the best
Just wanted to let everyone one know that this printer works with Ubuntu and Windows. It wakes up when its sleeping. Been testing for a few weeks now. My previous printers for my home office have been the usual brands and have never been real happy with any of them. Brother would always want to clean the heads and use of the ink. Epson just would not connect over wifi. and the ink ran out quickly. Had to walk over and reboot….which was also a nightmare. The buttons really did not work. This printer is just everything should work out of the box and it does. I hope this continues to work long term. The only thing I would love to see from Canon to make this the perfect home office printer is the tray being able to take a full sleep of paper. I would just say stay away from the other brands. They knocked this one out of the park.

Low quality
First print of the day takes several minutes. Overall a very clunky printer. The least reliable printer I’ve owned in 30 years of printing.

Best printer I have had yet!
Love this printer! Love the double sided option. Love the convenience of being able to do everything I need to from home instead of going to the library all the time.
