Setup and working in 5 minutes.
I read a lot of comments saying that this printer (Cannon ImageCLASS LBP122dw) was somehow hard to setup and configure. It really couldn’t have been easier. Follow the prompts on the little screen, enter your wifi network password, download the driver software onto your computer, install, print. It was seriously that simple.Printing was quick and print quality looks great.I don’t have a lot of time with it to talk about reliability, but it appears well made. I was able to find generic refill cartridges for $29 and purchased the printer on sale for $89. The price and the features (including the ability to run 3rd party toner replacements) make it appear to be a great value.

Pay attention to the negative reviews!!!!
I wish I would have myself. The screen is terrible as stated many times in reviews and like others, I had to resort to using a flashlight to read the screen. The instructions are absolutely terrible, lacking any sort of intuitive flow or useful guidance, and this is coming from someone that provides tech support for a living. This is not a professional grade printer yet the instructions are written as if your office IT person is setting it up for you. That is to say ALL the information for the various configuration possibilities is vomited out in a psuedo-logical structure offering no useful way of piecing it together. You’re left wondering over and over again if you should be doing the myriad of configuration steps on offer. And forget doing any troubleshooting if you encounter an issue because the instructions offer nothing of substance.I followed the instructions to download and install the driver but for some reason, the driver installation wasn’t working. Next I tried using the included disc containing the driver. This actually seemed to be working but it wanted to connect to the printer before installing the driver. This brings us to my next problem. I tried the wireless connection setup first. Printer showed as connected to wifi and the router app showed the printer as a connected device too. Unfortunately, my computer couldn’t access/find it. Next I tried connecting it via ethernet and again the router app showed the printer as connected to my network, but my computer still couldn’t access/find it. I tried two different computers over the course of trying to connect. I checked the troubleshooting section of the user guide and there was no guidance available. So not only could I not connect either wirelessly or over ethernet, I couldn’t even proceed with the driver installation. I finally gave up and drove to a store to buy a USB printer cable (this is a special type of USB cable if you aren’t aware). Once the computer and printer were connected via the cable I bought, I was able to install the driver and print something. The printing was fast and good quality, but you have to be able to connect to the printer to use it, hence my rating.

Good printer for home and office use
I was looking for a printer for my home so my children can print their work. Previously I had an HP printer that was absolutely horrible and was a nightmare to use. I got this amazing Canon printer for only 70 dollars when it was on sale. This printer also comes with a starter toner, so you can use it the moment you finishing setting it up. Speaking of the setting-up process, it is annoying. It took me around 30 minutes to set it up. There is also a disc software included so you can use it for you computer, but I use it with my iPhone and iPad. This printer works with Apple Air print. It is very easy to print things using your Apple device. You don’t need to download the canon app! Print quality is good and it prints fast. It also has automatic double sided print which is a great feature. Overall this is a good printer but they should make the setting up process a bit easier.

Review for the Canon LBP122dw (99 bucks for a duplexing laser printer!)
I may print half a dozen items a month…and my old inkjet would clog every time from lack of use. So, I decide to buy this Canon LBP122dw. Is it the best quality image at 600dpi…no. However, I only print labels, envelopes and the occasional recipe so it does what I need it to do.The setup is a bit clumsy as many have reported here and I had to uninstall my old printer and it’s software before the Canon installation would run (why…I don’t know). It also took two attempts before the installation utility detected the printer on my network (I connected it using the Ethernet port). And, while I’m an IT guy and was able to sort all these issue out quickly, I can understand how those less familiar would find the setup frustrating. We’ll see how durable it is over time and I’ll comment back if I have any issues.

Troubleshooting
It works fine but now I cant get it to print no matter what I try. And I know it aint the printer’s fault because for some reason my devices cant locate it. It’s too late to send it back so I just have to figure it out because I really need it and I cant afford to buy another one.
