Heat control dies after a couple of minutes
We bought one of these about a year ago. My wife uses it to melt wax for her art projects. It worked reasonably well, but the handle (heat control) connection to the skillet eventually broke off and couldn’t be made to stay connected. Cheap enough, so we ordered a second one. Bad idea. The heat control latched exactly the same as the old one did, which is DIFFERENT from the picture shown now. The latch that is shown is one of the reasons we bought this again. However, it turned out that the heat control did not work at all. No matter the setting, it heated up to its max (was smoke filled the room, and after a few minutes, the heat turned off complete. Tried the heat control with the old skillet, but same result.A return seemed to be in order. This company doesn’t really stand behind its product with free return for a defective product. I was able to return it but had to pay shipping costs. The original cost was $24.54 (including tax) and it cost me $11.50 to return it. We’ll see if they also reimburse the tax or just the original $22.99.The idea was a good one, and if the heating control worked, would have been fine. So instead I join the chorus of other reviewers who had the same problem. Won’t ever buy from this company again.

Difficult to see temperature setting
This small griddle is just the right size to cook a couple eggs, apiece of sausage or small pancake versus firing up a big skillet. The only issue I have is it’s difficult to see the temperature you’re turning the dial to as everything is black on black. It would be a lot better if the arrow was in white print on a black background. The picture in the description is nothing like what we received. We put a piece of yellow tape on the dial so we could what temp we were setting the skillet at.

Temp Control Does Not Work
I purchased this to warm hot glue so I could make floral arrangement. However the temp control does not work properly. Even moving the temp controller to the lowest setting, it still heats as if on high. I do not recommend this product.

Not bad for the price, but lack-luster temperature control.
I live alone and need a small electric skillet for making single serving meals. This one works as designed, and I’m satisfied with it. The controller/handle attaches and removes easily, and most importantly it fits securely. NOTE: you have to press the release button in order to fully seat the controller/handle onto the pan (not mentioned in the instructions). The temperature across the heating surface is uniform, being slightly higher above the heating element. As indicated by other reviewers, this item has noticeable variability from lot to lot. The Amazon picture shows a 100% glass cover, while the unit that I received has a conventional glass cover with metal rim and plastic knob. The manufacturer’s instruction pamphlet mentions a heat-on light, but my item does not have a light. The temperature control dial has the following labels: OFF, LOW, 230F, 284F, 320F, HIGH. Settings OFF, LOW and HIGH are the only settings to believe. This is due to the fact that the internal thermostat reacts to heater temperature, and not cooking surface temperature. My unit heats extremely quickly, then cools very, very, very, very, very slowly during the control cycle. Food temperature variation can be significant during the lengthy heat on-off-on cycle. With the temperature dial set just past midway, I measured 3 minutes to bring 1/2″ of water to full boil, and 45 minutes to cool down to 140F at which point the heating element turned back on. I wouldn’t use this skillet for precise or uniform temperature cooking without an external controller. >> Last night I prepared an excellent meal with this unit. I sautéed onions gently, made a sour cream sauce, and then reheated leftover steak. However I had set the skillet’s temperature dial to HIGH, and used an external 600W light dimmer to precisely control the skillet heating element for each phase of the cooking process!

Me gusta que es pequeño y práctico para preparar huevo frito, calienta rápido utilizando menos energía que un sartén grande

La calidad del sartén es pésima! Deberían de quitarlo del catálogo! Me vendieron algo que no pedí!
