Yeast and nut dispenser do not work.
I wanted a smaller bread machine that I put in my ingredients and come back to a baked loaf of bread. Hence bread machine. This is not it. The directions are clear and it seems simple and straightforward so I doubt I making a mistake because other people are having the same problems.

Do yourself a BIG favor and look elsewhere!
I seldom give really harsh reviews and I do try to look at the positive aspects of each item even when I am not overwhelmed by it. This, however, is truly a piece of garbage.I actually had high hopes for it when I unpacked it, because unlike so many other things these days, the instruction book was in readable English and seemed very straight forward. It also included some very nice recipes that I was itching to try. But right after washing the included bread pan and preparing to start baking, it all went downhill fast.First … it suggests running it on bake with nothing in it for 5 to 10 minutes until the lubricating grease from the electrical components has a chance to burn off. They said it might smoke or smell bad for a few minutes but it would soon go away. Okay, that sounded reasonable, so … I go to turn it on “bake” so I can do that. The problem is that there is no “Bake” setting anywhere on the machine. I scan the instruction book for further information and find zero.I conclude that I will need to use one of the basic pre-programmed bread settings and maybe skip past the 2 HOURS!!!! of kneading and rising so I can get to the baking part for the required 5 to 10 minutes. No Luck. All pre-programmed settings are automatic and not adjustable or (more importantly) skip-able. Not wanting to spend 2 hours of non-baking time merely to get to the short burn off time, I decide to chance it and just go ahead with the first bake without burning off the smelly lubricating grease first.Okay … I read some more stuff and decide to just make a 5-ingredient basic white bread loaf to test it with. I follow the directions to a letter. (Even the ones that appear to make little sense to me as an experienced bread maker–like the part where instead of adding yeast to warm liquid, you put it in a “yeast dispenser” to be added at some unspecified later stage automatically.) Then …I find that the second I go to “Menu” to select the number for the pre-programmed bread I have decided on, nothing happens. The readout stays exactly the same as it was on start up and nothing I do will change that. I turn it off and then on again. Nothing. I press “Home”. Nothing. I adjust the bread pan. Nothing. I turn it upside down and look at every inch of it for some sort of button to press that will miraculously make it work. Still nothing. FINALLY, I go back and read every word of the instruction book from front cover, through troubleshooting and on to the end credits, then back again, and finally–hidden away somewhere in the middle and previously overlooked–I find the magic words “to reset press and hold the start/stop button for 3 seconds”. Ah ha! I do that and I am able to make a selection on the menu. Then I notice that the indicator for color shows an image of a piece of toast that has lines drawn at intervals across it. I wonder what it means. Back to the booklet. It means the bread is set to Medium bake. I think to myself, do I want medium? I don’t know so I go look for choices and now the menu refuses to work again. I do another reset and scroll through the options of light, medium or dark and finally decide that medium is probably okay after all. I add yeast to the yeast dispenser and hit start.I walk away listening to little whirling and clunking sounds indicating that bread is in the process while I use the time I have saved to do other things I need to do. Bliss.Approximately 2-1/2 hours later–with the wonderful scent of freshly baked bread filling the kitchen–I open the machine to gaze at my delicious perfectly baked loaf and find … a wad of flour-colored dough about the size of a softball sitting in the bottom of the pan. It has been baked. There is a crust on it and it is hot, but … it is as white as a sheet and as dense as a rock. I can hold it in one hand (which I do for about 3 minutes, sadly wondering what went wrong.) I think, maybe the yeast was bad? But I know it wasn’t because I had baked with it not more than a week before and it was perfect. I look at the machine. I say to it “What did I do wrong?” The machine sits there and ignores me, so I go in closer for an inspection …THE AUTOMATIC YEAST DISPENSER IS NOT AUTOMATIC! The yeast is still sitting in the machine waiting to be dispensed. I look it over for some sort of mechanism for opening the little drawer so the yeast can fall into the pan but I can’t find anything. Then completely by accident I discover a button on the side of the lid. Apparently whatever was supposed to push that button at just the right time, didn’t work. The button was NOT pushed and the yeast was not dispensed. So I make another loaf–this time, I proof the yeast in the liquid (warmed to the correct temperature first) and put it in the machine myself. I bake again and this time it rises. What it doesn’t do–despite upping the color to “dark”, is a loaf of actually BAKED bread. It comes out just as white as the earlier loaf and with a doughy center.I’m not giving up yet. I look for ways to add minutes to the bake time and find that there are none. I look for ways to raise the baking temperature. There are none. You get what they decide you need–which apparently is a ball of dough. I try again with a different recipe that includes a longer bake time. Same results. So … in conclusion, I find that this bread machine is fine if you premix all the ingredients yourself before putting them in the machine and then pop it out of the machine and into an oven after it finishes. In other words, if YOU do all the work yourself and allow the cute little machine to hold it for you for a couple of hours to keep it warm, it isn’t a heap of garbage. (That is sarcasm in case you didn’t get it.)Final thoughts … keep looking for a bread machine. Look for one that includes ways to adjust temperature and color settings or skip certain steps in the process. This is a useless piece of junk and is not worth a fraction of the price.

Versatile Bread Machine
I’ve owned four or five bread machines over the years. Usually the motor goes out before anything else. This one has some interesting extra features to automate adding nuts or other goodies into the bread mix during it’s automated process…as well as yeast. I did find it a bit humorous that the box calls the bread maker: “Automotive Bread Machine”. I think they meant to say “Automatic Bread Machine”, because I don’t see a practical way to use it in my car…unless I am driving an RV 🙂

The yeast dispenser doesn’t work and worse yet, the bread doesn’t cook properly and I was left with a loaf of bead that was raw in the middle.
John Godbout –
This item works as it should, the yeast dispencer is a waste of time because it adds yeast just before cooking the bread, just not the right time for yeast.
Carmen –
The yeast dispenser doesn’t work properly and i continually need to add bake time as the programs are not correctly calibrated. Will be trying to return for different unit.
Robert Taylor –
Do not buy. Yeast dispenser did not open. LED display is too small to read.

The biggest problem with devices that claim auto functions is they don’t always work when they are supposed too. Unfortunately this machine falls into that category. With my old bread maker there were more manual things to do, but at least you knew they were being done at the right time. Wait for the magic beep and then add your additional ingredients. While there are supposed to be 21 different functions that becomes the secondary issue. Too many options and some not even related to dough handling. Pork floss, yogurt, jam in a bread maker. Really!!! I would have thought there may have been some type of manual adjustments, but if there are they are very well hidden. Everything is too automatic. You need some flexibility. Oh well. Back to my old bread maker. Would I buy this again? No.
